Went to see the Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon, and Tesla concert in August. Got seats in for front row of section 203 to prevent from having to stand all the time in order to see since no one was seated in front of us. It did not work out as planned. People were constaintly stopping in front of us to watch the show and taking selfies instead of walking through like they were suppose to. Security only came by a few times to move these people along. Beer is highly priced at 10 dollars for draft and 15 for 24oz cans.
Show more...I love coming out to this venue to see concerts. In July alone, I've been to the Just Show Up Show (hosted by 103.7 the Q), 5 Seconds of Summer, and Snoop Dogg with Wiz Khalifa Concerts. The best seating by far is the 100 levels. The 300 levels are cool but I kept running into problems with tall people blocking my view. Overall, its the best place to see a concert. Just dont bring an umbrella, they wont let you bring it, even if its a baby one and its pouring down raining.
Show more...Had the privilege to see the Foo Fighters, however due to a storm it was delayed, No big deal.
However, when the update was sent that we could come in, all chaos ensued.
There was zero structure for lines, thousands of people trying to get in and not a single cone, tape, or even security was put in place to minimize the extreme confusion a disorganization.
Beyond that, they only had a few folks scanning tickets through a single line. We waited for an hour to get through and there were thousands behind us. There was plenty of wasted labor that could have been directed to get the customers into the show. Many of us missed the opening show.
Lastly, the angle of the seating isn’t sloped enough. It was impossible to see from our seats.
While the Foo Fighters were AMAZING as always, this venue was the worst I have ever been to, and I’ve been to ALOT!!! Never again Oak Mountain.
The rules seem to be murky. I saw on the website (and was told by an employee) that parking was free. Nope, it was $20 or $40 for VIP section. The VIP section was less than 50 yards away from the $20 area.
The parking lot has little lighting and no markers of any sort, so many people wander the parking lot after the show looking for their vehicles. I was also told (as even some of the concession workers told me) that outside food and drink was prohibited. I got to the show and found out that I could have brought a sealed bottle of water. Instead, I paid $5 for a 20 ounce bottle of water. Don’t ask what the booze prices are. The seats need to be marked better. My usher said, “Yeah, I think this is the right row. It’s hard to tell.”
What a shame that these things cast such a pall over what was otherwise a fantastic concert and evening.
Got tix to the Soul Asylum, Collective Soul & Three Doors Down. Parking was easy but pricey $20. Did not need any fast line tickets because there wasnt much of a line. If you don’t take a purse in you can go in the faster line. They do check your bags and use a metal scanner to check you upon entering. Drinks are crazy expensive, but expected. I suggest watching the bar tender put your alcohol in. The first drink was supposed to be a double but there was no alcohol. Second drink was good, but she poured in front of me as they should. As the concert started they were offering folks up in the nosebleeds seats down near the stage. Guess the concert didn’t sell very well.
Clean bathrooms. Good security. Little Mary Jane, but not like in the old days.
The only bad seats at this Venue are the ones behind the light and sound box. We had a good time and didn't have to go far for refreshments and restrooms so we didn't miss any of the show.
Show more...Been to this Amphitheatre many times. This time I feel like I need to express my thoughts. We had Red Lounge VIP tickets and hard to justify paying for them. VIP area is ok but candy and popcorn not refilled when empty. Cash bar so only thing to drink is water unless you want to pay. Only decent seats are tables 1,2,3 row one seats 1 and 2. Row two and row three tables you can not see from. Especially row three. Row three is not even raised higher than row two tables. Standing does not help. Stage is pretty much visible from any location better than this area. Please someone read this review and fix this area. It could be nice but charging people for this area then them not being able to see concert is wrong.
Show more...It took over 25 years but we finally made it back to the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre. My children know how much I love Bluegrass music and bought me tickets to see Allison Krauss and Willie Nelson. Boy can that lady sing and play a fiddle. I must say though I was disappointed in her performance but enjoyed the sing along with Willie very much. He is getting older, like myself, maybe not the singer he used to be but man can he play that rag tag guitar. The venue was worn but clean and a good place for an outdoor concert. Park off 119, beside the hotel, makes getting in and out a breeze!
Show more...Just attended Allison Krauss & Willie Nelson concert, which was fabulous! Even though , at 85, his voice is has lost some of its already limited range (we always loved him anyway - it was part of his charm!!), the guy can still riff a guitar!!! Allison sounded as pure as ever.
BUT the highest praise goes to the management of the amphitheater itself. My sister uses a scooter for mobility, and when we got there, we found that for some reason, it was completely dead. Although they certainly didn’t have to, they loaded us in a golf cart and took us all the way to the walkway for our seats; AND came back to get us at the end of the show. Every single staff person we came in contact with was friendly, and extraordinarily helpful. The Amp itself is a great venue, but the management and staff took it over the top. If there is something showing there that you want to see, I would highly recommend it.
