Visited several times whilst staying at a local caravan site. The lighthouse as a focal point is stunning and the tidal patterns are fascinating to watch. Despite being dog friendly, the beach was clean. Plenty of local parking. Toilets the only issue - there were three pay on entry ones a few minutes off the beach but all were out of use during our stay.
Show more...Nice beach but beware of pseudo-official car park on the right, which was a complete rip-off.
We were charged £5 by an officious twerp, with no possibility of a reduction for a very short stay.
Discovered a large free car park 200m further ahead, just be careful about ground conditions and the tide.
Nice place clean and tidy but not enough to see or do. Talacre is one way in and one way out and the road is very tight getting two cars down.a nice couple of gift shops and arcade and a couple of pubs restaurants apart from that its 4 miles down the road to Prestatyn.nice beach carpark was free beach massive nice sand with loverly sand dunes at back with walkway cycle track right down coast.we found we had to come out most days as it seemed monotonous and after a few days needed to get out.the main Prestatyn Rd from talacre a mile down on the left hand side a pub restaurant called bells of st marys is a must for dinning ot great carvery burgers pizzas and a great buffet breakfasts a must for a fiver breakfast. There's nothing north of talacre worth seeing but yous only less than a hour straight run down to Llandudno. Leave colwyn Bay out as rhee doing the front up bulldozers and drilling everywhere workman. I think for me the south is more appealing having said that we did enjoy it.
Show more...We come here regularly. Beautiful beach (need to avoid clay at low tide), great chippy, ice-cream etc. Great for dogs & brilliant sand dunes. Just don't park in the car park by the cafe - £5 and you may be unlucky enough to have to deal with the arrogant idiot of a parking attendent that I had the pleasure of meeting today!
Show more...A lovely golden sandy beach. The beach is huge and goes for as far as the eye can see. The lighthouse is a unique feature landmark. Parking closer to the beach is very limited so be prepared for a walk. We parked in the overflow car park which was roughly a 5 minute walk to the beach road on a flat pathway suitable for walking and wheelchairs. It’s the another 5 minute walk to the beach. This is where you walk through dunes and access is more tricky for pushchairs etc. Parents were carrying children and pushchairs for around 300 yards from path to beach. There are no toilets or food outlets on the beach, they are 500 yards away on the beach road. A gem of a beach which I would highly recommend visiting for a great day out.
Show more...Went to Talacre today to spend some time before going home very disappointed to see parking is £3.00 for the day we did not want to stay for the day just an hour or 2. Lots of cars where parked /parking on the side of the road as they probably the same as us. I used the toilets omg disgusting smell and vile. So they taking £3 per day per car then they need to spend it with in the town!/Road. Will not be going again very disappointed.
Show more...I spent most of my childhood at Talacre beach, so taking my Daughter almost 40yrs later felt so special. I was so disappointed! There were no spaces to park on the beach so we paid £3 to park really close which was fair enough, after the drive we needed the loo, there are 3 public toilets, entered the first one and the smell was horrific, tried the next one same smell, so opted for the 3rd same smell no tissue in any of them and no running water either, absolutely vile! We walked to the beach with our dog, nice walkway which abruptly finishes onto a marshland of mud and sludge which you need to cross to get to the sand, we carried the dog and slip slided our way across, the beach was just as I remembered with the legendary lighthouse but it was absolutely swarming with dogs, I know we had ours but If you are expecting to let your dog off leash at any point it’s impossible, we stayed around 20 minutes then did the tough mudder back to the walkway carrying the disappointed dog, it’s fair to say my childhood memories of this beach are just that and we won’t be returning any time soon. So disappointing.
Show more...At the Northernmost point of the Welsh mainland, lies perhaps the best beach in it's corner of Britain. While relatively popular with families in peak season, there is usually enough room for everyone and is usually quieter than nearby beaches such as Rhyl. It also provides nice views of the Wirral, and on a clear day you may even be able to see Liverpool. Although the most notable feature of the beach by far is it's Lighthouse, which while it has seen better days, is still visually striking being perfect as a backdrop for photos. Just behind the beach is a large range of sand dunes, that are not only good for walks but also a good habitat for local wildlife.
The Beach is not far from major cities such as Manchester or Liverpool, making it a decent day trip if you want a quick visit to the sea. If you're staying in the area for a holiday there are few if any beaches that can match it's appeal locally, I have personally visited here many times in my life, and it has yet to loose it's appeal.
I have been going to Talacre beach for the past 40 years and it doesn’t seem to have changed that much. Ideal for families and dogs. 2 great pubs, a fantastic bakery and chip shop. Plenty of parking, ( and five pounds for a days parking is not expensive), and some days , you can park on the beach for free. Great for wildlife and long walks. Talacre beach resort is excellent, stayed there 10 times , never a problem, shops bars good food.

Show more...Amazing beach with a light house
Dogs allowed on and did not see any mess
Clean beach
Large enough beach to allow got social distancing
Enough space to fly a kite
Shops cafeand pub a quick walk away
What stopped this getting 5 stars
No toilets, 3 public porta loos near shops , one was flooded , another broke and the one that was working was disgusting (smelt, sanitary packaging etc ) .The lack of hygiene a real worry during current times
Localpub has toilet for customers but a porta loo due to crona virus, which was also not clean
Car parking is free but on a busy day lacked any organisation and felt dangerous
Summary
Amazing beach but the town lacks the infrastructure to deal with the scale of visitors and the hygiene if you want to go to the toilet is a worry to say the least. We will return but not in season and go to the toilets before arrival, probably eat some where close by on the way which is a shame as this will take revenue away from Talacre .
