I got into Escape room games about a year ago and have tried a few different companies in Manchester, so when No Exit opened recently right across from our office in Bolton it was a dream come true!

Booking was easy online with plenty of information, we had a mixed group so chose a mid-level difficulty game (Sherlock), I won't give anything away about the game itself but it was great fun, well put together and a good mix of different clues and red herrings

Staff were friendly and helpful, the place is set out well with some sofas and sweets in the waiting area, maybe worth adding some puzzles to play with or the types of locks that are in the rooms like the other Escape companies now do.

They currently have 4 different rooms available and overall we had a great experience and look forward to trying another one soon!

We always wanted to try this out and I’m glad we did. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome, all the staff were great.
The room we went into was the Sherlock Holmes room but there were three others to try, which we will be trying. It was difficult which was good, because I was worried it would be to easy.
Definitely try it out.

I went there with a few friends for a mates birthday, I'd never heard of anything like this before. We went in the Sherlock room, and we managed to escape!

I like the idea of this, it makes you think and I can appreciate that!

I will definitely be returning again, we all had a fantastic time and the staff we lovely and nice too.

son's birthday party was saved by AMAZONIA, because the place is CLOSED. Booked for 1 hour slot at 1300 today . I arrived with my son and 4 friends hoping to have an escape experience. The security personnel called and texted him after I made inquiries..no one available, the place was still closed at 13:40. I paid up front, do think I have been scammed as well. Emails in lady half hour have not been answered. It is disappointing at best, heart rending to see my son really sad on his birthday treat. Have since asked for refund nothing as yet!

Having done a lot of escape rooms with different companies around the world this was sadly our least favourite.
The pros:
The reception area was warm and nicely laid out and the staff were welcoming.
The puzzles in the room were good and challenging.
The layout of the room was good.
The cons:
Before we entered the room we were told that we basically needed to tidy up after ourselves. Put locks and props back where we got them from and keep items on tables. Having done 20+ rooms this was a first for us.
We’d barely been in the room for 5 mins before we were given clue after clue without asking. We didn’t feel like we were really given a chance to fully explore the room and relax into it. In addition to this we were told to switch off the blacklight, turn off another prop, put items on tables/ledges. We felt on edge. We wanted to enjoy the experience but the continual housekeeping took away from the fun. At ££££ for the hour, surely if we left a torch on a little longer than needed our payment would more than cover some extra batteries. It was unnecessary and ruined the experience.
One of the boxes in the room hadn’t been locked.
One of the main props in the room didn’t work despite multiple attempts and a lot of wasted time.
We escaped the room but didn’t really enjoy the experience.
This could have been a great room if no prompts were given without asking (or at least for the first 15mins). Let your players relax without worrying about putting items back. If you’re worried about items breaking then those props aren’t suitable for an escape room. Make sure the props work, if multiple players spend a significant amount of time trying to make a prop work and there are numerous instructions, you have to keep helping, the prop still doesn’t work and you inform afterwards that everyone struggles with that prior then perhaps the prop isn’t fit for purpose.
We want to give No Exit Bolton another chance and try another room without the prompts and (hopefully) the in-game-housekeeping. I hope next time will be more enjoyable.

Loved it ! Already done the Sherlock Holmes room and WILL be returning to do another room. Apart from the fun of solving the clues and trying to escape, what makes the experience so great are the friendly helpful staff. If you have never tried an escape room I would HIGHLY recommend it !!!!!

great escape rooms . 2 of us did it last night ( probably needed more ) as it was reeeaalllyyy hard !!. Great fun though and staff extremely pleasnt and helpful . Great idea of using a tv screen to give you clues rather than someone keep nipping into room.
Definately going to be back soon to try another room .
PS we escaped with 19 seconds left

Me and my friends visited on the first day of opening, and overall we were very impressed. We booked two different rooms for the evening - Sherlock and Mummy's Tomb - and both offered different experiences.

The mummy's tomb was fairly easy, though it's intended to be a 'beginner' room so this isn't surprising, and despite being quite easy it was very fun to do. The room flows well and for those that pay attention you'll never be short of info on how to proceed.

Sherlock was a very different experience, but it was also supposed to be harder (4 star difficulty, as opposed to 3 for Mummy's tomb). Clues were a lot more subtle and we needed a bit more help on this one as it wasn't always clear to us where we should be looking. To be fair, had we been fully alert to everything around us, this may well have been a different story, so always keep your eyes open and pay attention to everything.

The staff were exceptional and very engaged with the whole experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the seating area where you start and finish your experience is comfortable and very spacious.

My only criticism would be that all rooms scheduled for the same time start their briefings at the same time in the same room very close to eachother. This can result in a lot of background noise which makes listening to instructions a little tricky. Just staggering entrances by 45-60 seconds would likely eliminate this problem entirely.

I would highly recommend giving them a visit, and bring your friends - the more the merrier. We all had a brilliant time, and there's plenty to keep you occupied nearby if you want to book for multiple rooms in an evening.
