Compendium Escape Rooms

Easily one of our favourite escape room venues and we've now completed approximately 50 rooms worldwide. (family with two teens aged 14 &16)
The props are high quality and highly emersive. Challenging but not impossible if you use your brain!
We enjoyed wrong turn so much we did it a second time when there was a live actor event on. Clues had been changed and the addition of an actor in there with you gave the room an entirely different angle, absolute genius!
Just one room left to try now. Highly recommended!

We visited these escape rooms yesterday and they was our 54, 55, 56 and 57th escape rooms completed and these are definitely up there with some of the best!

During our visit we completed each of the rooms and each one was a pleasure to play. The hosts were pleasant and friendly and you can tell they love putting effort into the design of each room.

Wrong Turn is one of the best set out rooms that my friends and I have played and with a good variety of puzzles to match.

UI-55 is possibly one of the most unique escape rooms played again with fantastic design and plenty of puzzles to get your teeth stuck into.

Bedlam and the laboratory again are amazingly set out rooms.

Genuinely cannot recommend this place enough, if you are looking for some of the best escape rooms in the UK then definitely check out compendium!

We were blown away by how brilliant this place was. We took on the room "wrong turn" and even before getting into the escape room. The decor of the reception and the welcome we received was 5 star service. The room itself was exceptional and had a uniqueness to it which me and my partner thoroughly appreciated. The guy we spoke to, I forget his name but he was so chatty, honest and genuinely passionate about the games. It was a pleasure to speak with him and take part in one of their games. We thoroughly look forward to booking another one when we can!

We've now tried all the rooms that this fab venue has to offer, with our latest being the new Zombieland one.

You can tell that the couple who run this company have a genuine passion for escape rooms. Their rooms are well themed, with some of the best set design I've seen.

My personal favourite is Wrong Turn, where I felt that the puzzles and atmosphere were really 'on point.' I can also recommend UI-55 for larger teams looking for something nontraditional. The room is massive and very Crystal Mazey. But no room is a 'dud,' they're all truly great!

Communication from the owners has also been brilliant. On one occasion, a terrible incident in the centre of Bury meant that they had the close for the day. The company kept us informed and helped us to reschedule.

Should this company expand/acquire new rooms, I'll certainly be back!

Booked this as a treat for my better half and we both loved it. We absolutely love horror films so I chose "Wrong turn". From the moment you start you have to find a clue to get into the room. The whole game was immersive right down to the music, the smells, the temperature of the room and the fantastic decor. We probably relied on more clues than many but this didn't deter us as we did figure some things out by ourselves! The twists and the turns and attention to detail clearly show how much hard work the owners put into making it an hour to remember. They have also taken on board the current restrictions from Covid19, and prepare each room accordingly allowing time to disinfect etcWe have enquired about other rooms and are also excited to hear about a new room they will be adding. We can't wait to book again and also hopefully attend one of their late night/special event type rooms too.

We have been wanting to do these rooms for sometime and finally was able to get over to do them so did all 4 of them in the same day. It was defiantly worth the visit. The second we were met by Alex and entered the building we knew we were in for a good day. Him and is wife are self confessed escape room enthusiasts and make rooms that they would want to play and this shows throughout the rooms.
First up we did the laboratory which was lots of fun with lots of different puzzles that worked to each of our strengths. The whole set up of the room was very well thought out and themed so well.
Next up we did Wrong turn. There has been no expense spared on the design of this room and really made you feel as though you had gone into a run down old shack from the look, feel and even smell. Fantastic puzzles in there too which again played to all our strengths.
Next up was Bedlam which really required us to work as a team and again had lots of varied puzzles. Again the set up of the room fit with the theme brilliantly.
Last of the day was UI-55. This room is huge and was a little overwhelming at first as there is literally so much you can do in there. That being said it meant we could all go and either work together or alone to solve lots of different puzzles. This was more physical with lots of running around and a crystal maze spin on it.
These rooms are ideal for beginners and experienced alike and can be done as friends or family. There really is something for everyone.
We managed to get 3 room records and 2nd best on the other but 3 of our group have done over 70 rooms each. That being said these rooms were full of puzzles that we hadn't seen before and really got our brains working overtime. These are in the top 10 of the rooms we have done over the years and cannot recommend them enough. Can't wait for the new rooms and will be back in the new year. Thank you for making such brilliant rooms!

Well, where do I startthis is by far the best room we have ever done. The room had plenty to do, with a range in activities varying from physical to mental with so much fun to be had. This is also the first room that I would go back again as it can be replayed,which just shows the sheer amount of tasks there are to do in this room. Due to the set up and size of the room,this can be done with 2 - 10 people, I cannot stress enough how fun this room was! Based on the current pandemic, the room was very clean and items are replaced for each game so that they can be cleaned again. The owners also helped in celebrating my other halves 30th birthday, which just shows how much they care about their rooms and players. Thank you once again, look forward to returning and playing more rooms.

From the moment we stepped foot in the door we knew that we were going to enjoy our experience at Compendium! Really knowledgeable owner who took time to explain everything in the room that we needed to know and chat to us without feeling rushed at all! He was also really happy to recommend other escape rooms to us too. The actual room was really well thought out and challenging which is totally what we were after. A different concept to the run of the mill escape room. We left really really happy and will definitely be back and best of all we escaped with all the loot!

5 star does not due Compendium justice, attended today for my daughters birthday and it was literally the best escape room we have been to, so much so that we will be booking another room in September and a third booking in October. The attention to detail from stepping in, to the hosts, to the escape room was second to none. The immersion was out of this world and we were fully gripped the whole time. Huge thank you to Lee and Jen for making my daughters birthday perfect and roll on September. We played UI-55 - a great room with a clever set-up meaning that it is suitable for small and large teams, beginners and experienced players alike. It is a large space with plenty of puzzles and the theme is great. It is clear why this is a firm favourite amongst enthusiasts and we will definitely detour back into Bury in future to play their others.
