A fabulous, relaxing and joyful encounter with these sweet animals. Made taking a walk in the woods extra special. Would highly recommend it for something very different to do, especially if you’re a city or suburban based person and want to do something completely different. Reasonably priced too.

This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Galena. Serene woods, cheery goats, and pure bliss walking through the nature and experiencing these animals on a fun, short hike. This activity was the best way to destress and leave it all behind; better yet, it’s family friendly so you can take the kids along to.
The whole farm is also safe agritourism certified and you can tell the animals are well cared for and loved. Everything about our trek was a win, and I look forward to coming back again next time we’re out this way.

Goats are fun to interact with but regrettably there were more humans on our trek than goats which really limited the fun and the interaction. The ratio of goat to human was about 1 to 5. I think the staffers who joined us shaking cans actually out-numbered the goats. Because of COVID19, we should have been socially distancing but that was really hard to do because everyone wanted to be close to a goat and there were just NOT enough goats to go around. The idea itself is super. I rated it average because I really didn't spend $95 that day to walk with humans. More goats would have been more fun and then I would have rated it very good. For this reason I will not be returning to entertain my future guests. I can get more goat interaction by visiting my farrier for free.

What a fun, unique, and even educational time we had doing the goat trek! Interacting with the goats was such fun; they really are like 'kids!' You can walk one on a leash or not - whichever you prefer. The goats are so good with people. There were seven adults and three young children that made up our group, and we adults enjoyed it as much as the (human) kids! Our guide, Christina, was so knowledgeable about the goats, the land, the vegetation, and the Galena area. What a great guide she is! I know some families who come to Galena every year, and I will let them know they need to put this on their list!

What a great time we had! Now THIS is something you may never do again. I loved that the trek was an hour and could easily fit it into our day. The baby goats were adorable!! We learned so much about their care, feeding and how the goats behave in their own little society/family. The paths are so peaceful through a beautiful wooded area that circles around and brings you right back where you began. A wonderful way to spend some social distancing time in Galena. WONDERFUL!

We run a small vacation business here in town (Galena Chalet) and have been recommending Hoof-it Galena to our guests for quite a while based on feedback we’ve received from other local business owners in the community. We’ve also been following them on Instagram and seen frequent goat selfies posted from other goat lovers! So happy that we finally had the opportunity to take our three children on a trek with Hoof-it Galena! We planned a surprise day for our kids and this was the highlight! The staff were so nice and incredibly patient. Even though it was a bit rainy on the day of our trek, the goats were all about leading the trek! Our kids lead their “kids” (baby goats) and vise versa! What a great way to see some of the back country and beautiful forestry of our lovely area. Everyone should go hiking at least once while visiting Galena, why not do it with goats! Love it! Thank you all for making our Fall Family Fun Weekend a great one! Cheers!

We enjoyed a morning goat trek and it was everything that I had hoped for. Our guide was delightful, entertaining, and knew a lot about their goats. It was fun to walk through their property and enjoy the fresh air. If you like goats or are curious about goatsI'd highly recommend you take the time to go on a goat trek!

A great, flat 1 mile walk with some super cute goats. The whole group (ages 18, 22, 28,and 50) loved it. The goats clearly have a great time and the guide keeps you all moving while providing information about the goats and their behaviors as well as the beautiful property. It was a great way tot start our morning. We would definitely do it again.

Okay this is an ABSOLUTE must do!!! We came all the way from the Chicago suburbs just to go here.
The lady and two college age girls (all relatives of original owners) were absolutely fabulous!!! They answer any and all questions that you might have. The history of the goat farm is amazing!
It is extremely clean and well kept. The goats are all so kind, sweet and they love people. You will be able to hand feed the goats carrots. The hike is very flat and extremely easy. It could be extremely hot if you go during the summer so just be aware of that.
We paid the extra $17 to hold the newborn goats at the end of our hike. I would HIGHLY suggest paying this extra $17 (it isn’t per person; it’s for your whole group) to be able to see these little baby goats.
This is an absolute must do!!!
My sister and I will talk about our goat trek for years! Unless maybe you're accustomed to farm life, this is such a fun thing to do in Galena, people. We are in our 50s and loved every minute of this from our arrival to departure. We each started out with a goat on a leash until it got safe (away from parking area, etc), then they were unleashed and just walked with us on mowed, wide trails through the woods (not at all strenuous). I would suggest bringing hiking boots/shoes, or old tennis shoes, not sandals, especially if it had recently rained like it had for us. You will likely step in cute little goat do-do which will get stuck in your shoe tread, and the trails could be muddy and slippery in a few spots (you can avoid this by walking in the grasses). I wore old tennis shoes and they were mucky enough that I brought them home in a plastic bag. Just sayin' don't wear your new Dansko sandals or anything like that ;-)

The signage was clever and well done, and it was easy to find off the beaten path. You sign in on their porch where they have a few items for sale as well - cute shirts and hats with their logo!
We learned a lot about goats and the local foliage and berries, and will absolutely take another Hoof It goat trek the next time we visit Galena (from Northern MN)!!
