Best place in Whitby! I heard the owners of the stables had taken over here so we had to try. We visit Whitby once or twice a year. Last year was our first visit and again on Saturday evening. The food was outstanding, I had lamb which was perfectly cooked. Very well presented. My husband had the curry and he said that was wonderful too. It was a huge portion. We shared a home made chocolate brownie dessert. Followed by 2 cappuccinos with lovely home made biscuits The bar and garden room are beautifully decorated. Warm and quirky with large cows and tractors scattered around. The lit up blossom tree in the garden room gives a lovely warmth and atmosphere And even more surprising was how good value it was. It was around £85 for 6 drinks, 2 mains, a dessert snd 2 coffees. Exceptional value for such a beautiful place Not forgetting that the staff were really lovely too. I will definitely return when I visit Whitby again.

First I thank the family who own and actively run Sneaton Castle for their vision and keen eye on quality, style and service. It's so refreshing to experience this standard without having to take a seven-hour flight to the Middle East (although the weather is generally better there!) My wife and I were celebrating 50 years to the day and date since we first went out on a date together. For the younger ones this was called "courting" and you ought to try it :-) We spent two nights here in a Castle Suite. Everything was perfect and went beyond our already high expectations, which is the real measure of customer satisfaction. Our hearts lifted as soon as we drove through the gates to the grounds and saw the impressive building. The grounds are well manicured and set out. The reception lady was lovely, providing a super-efficient check-in and then personally taking us to our room. The suite was spacious and decorated and fitted throughout with high quality and super stylish furnishings and fittings. Being of an age, we enjoy a soak in the bath after a hard day. The bathroom and bath tub did not disappoint and there was always plenty of piping hot water, although we didn't abuse the luxury! Our bed was very comfortable and the room very quiet throughout the night. All public areas of the hotel portrayed the history of this beautiful building, with pictures and ornaments . Nature too was present in the incredible wood carvings. Food was top class - Bon chapeau chef! Beautifully presented and delicious. I was disappointed not to have had space to accommodate the cheeseboard but that gives me reasonable excuse for another visit. I also enjoyed two other items of my dining world delights: hats off to the lady who made our cocktails and my Irish Coffee. Both were perfect and such an improvemnt over the usual standard of cocktail with which we are presented these days. Neither my wife nor I like the new dumbed-down "Bistro" style that restaurants generally seem to be offering, however, even with this Sneaton Castle designers have carried it off with panache and style - we loved it. The restaurant was very relaxing and beautiful. Perhaps you are converting us? And so, with a tear in our eyes, we had to leave the hotel but our hearts have been warmed to know that somewhere, only a forty-minute drive from home, is a reliably wonderful haven in which to stay. Thank you again for everything. Your story is inspirational. Your eye for detail 20:00.

Stayed for a one night visit, pleasant room looking out to the garden we paid £180 with breakfast. Very clean and nicely decorated. The issue was the room was above the kitchen and the room smelt strongly of cooking through the evening and again in the morning. Breakfast was very tasty and a nice menu and the staff very helpful. We just got unlucky with the room.

If we could keep this place a secret we would but it deserves to be recognised as one of the nicest places we have EVER stayed. From the initial drive in you are mesmerised by the sculptures, the beautiful grounds and impressive castle. We were welcomed at reception and shown to our room, described as a cosy double. It was absolutely perfect for us. Thank you for the welcome shortbread xx we had a little mooch round the Castle and a then a steady 30 min walk into Whitby. We didn't eat on Saturday night in the restaurant but did enjoy the breakfast Sunday morning in the beautiful restaurant looking at the alpacas. I could go on, but you won't be disappointed and we will DEFINITELY be back...

Sneaton Castle came highly recommended by a family member. So we thought we would check it out. We called for morning coffee on our way to Helmsley. Enjoyed it so much we stayed for lunch. We intend to visit again and stay there as the atmosphere is 1st class.

Staff are so lovely and helpful, nothing too much trouble for them. Beautiful surroundings. A great place to relax, even just for a drink. Very welcoming, even to dogs and small children. Grounds and buildings beautiful. Unusual touches, very special.

Visited Sneaton Castle for Sunday Lunch several times. Unfortunately on this occasion was very disappointed. The turkey was very dry & the Yorkshire puds were terrible, very brittle & nothing like a Yorkshire pud should taste! The Waitress did change my Yorkshire pud but was still not great ☹️ I had fruit crumble for desert & I honestly thought I was going to break my teeth on the hard crumble 😳. Such a shame as it is a beautiful place.

Booked Suite 7 as a surprise stay for my wife's 70th birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect thank you to all to all the staff, especially Caitlin who made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived taking time out to show us around. The room was amazing, the food superb quality and value for money, and the bar area a great place to relax with a beer or a cocktail. Great location and stunning views of the grounds. Thank you team for making this a very memorable stay.
