Stumbled across this lovely section of the East Coast today and stopped for a windy walk along the beach. The coastline has some breathtaking views as well as some World War 2 history including a gun emplacement when there were fears of a German invasion on the East Coast.

Car parking is paid at a little hut at the top of the cliff and use of the portaloo toilets is extra. There is a café / beach shop on your way down to the beach (cash only) that looked to be well stocked with buckets and spades etc..

Had such a lovely day at Hunmanby Gap today. It all started with the really helpful people at the car park, I am disabled and needed advice on access to the beach to the lovely meal at the beach cafe which included my dogs sausages. I was able to use my mobility scooter right down to the beach but needed to use crutches after that. The beach is dog friendly all year round and is just perfect. For those of you who are able it’s an easy walk to Filey if you want a bit more activity but I was more than happy with my day here. Can’t wait for my next trip here

While my relatives walked along the beach, I had 3 mugs of tea and a slice of cake from the cafe. How many cafes do a mug of tea for A QUID? And it was good tea too!
Lovely place for viewing as well. Thank you.

Came with a friend who had heard this was a lovely beach.
Busy road in with passing places. Car park with plenty of spaces. Take coins £1 an hour. Very clean & tidy. Toilets were porta loo style - the cleanest any where I've been. Even had air freshners in them and a small enclosed garden full of pot plants. 20p a go.
The walk down to the beach takes less than 3 minutes. En route is a cute cafe perched half way with great views & seating to eat & look at the view. Lots of beach toys for sale if you've forgotten anything. The beach is huge maybe 2 miles wide. Flat hard sand with tidal pools dogs love to run in and toddlers paddle. This is the cleanest beach I've seen in years. Not one bit of litter any where. Lots of families there but soooo much space it looked empty. 5 ⭐️ all the way.

Visited the beach cafe today at Hunmanby Gap. We parked in the car park which was reasonably priced at £2 for two hours. Terry on the entrance was such a nice helpful chap. We walk down the hill to the café and had an all day breakfast. The food was well cooked, hot and good value for money.
We will definitely be back again next year.

The beach cafe at Hunmanby Gap, near Filey is great! Wide selection of hot food including sandwiches, English breakfast etc and homemade cakes and desserts and ice cream and soft drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milkshakes. The steep climb from the beach is well worth it. Basically a refurbished portakabin with decking and seating in different levels with living tended plants and flowers and stunning view over the bay. Quality of food and drinks offered are good, reasonably priced and served with a smile. At busy times there may be a little wait but staff constantly on the go. Definitely a hidden gem!

Hidden gem. Never knew existed! Been to Filey and missed this place. Best to visit when tide is out. Soft sand and endless coastline. This is a beach for building those sandcastles. Toilets are composting, basic and for the environmentally friendly vibe of this beach. The cafe is basic but the food is great and I don’t want a touristy beach anyway. This is my idea of a beach to feel at one with nature. The photos I took were lovely.

We had a week in Hunmanby in May 3 friends with 3 dogs. Plenty of places to park next to the beach their is a slope you have to walk up and down to access the beach. Has a cafe halfway down to rest. Its well worth the walk fabulous beach for the dogs.

I am really quite gobsmacked at the negative reviews. Hummanby Gap beach is fabulous and huge. Anyone wanting to social distance would not have a problem (by the way if someone gets too close then just movethere is really loads of room!).
This is one of the best beaches in Yorkshire so beautiful. Yes it no frills, car park in a field, cafe with home cooked food and portable loos. So what that is the whole point that the beach speaks for itself. Views are fantastic!
The guys at the car park are friendly and clean the loos often. Cafe is lovely all open air and home cooked food. There is no extensive menu..and who need that at a beach! I love it.
Thank you to those who make this place so unspoilt and special.
