I’ve lived within an hour of here all my life but never popped in, despite being a keen aviation enthusiast. I’m
So glad I did, I’ve visited other museums and lots of them have rather poor exhibits, with a large percentage being in poor condition (I know if they had the money they’d be better cared for). But Newarks are almost all in excellent condition, with cracking examples of rare aircraft, the Mig23 and 27, the prone Meteor, the beautiful and almost immaculate Vulcan, so many Canberras of varying marks. It’s a place the staff are clearly proud of and rightly so. I’d also say that weirdly, it’s a museum I could happily revisit, and plan to again soon. Absolutely cracking place!

Absolutely loved our afternoon here! My toddler thoroughly enjoyed walking around looking at the planes and helicopters. My favourite was the Vulcan.
The inside of the museum (3 buildings) were really interesting and informative. I could have spent hours here reading all the information!
Would be a super place to bring children on a school trip too!
All the staff were really friendly and would stop to chat.
We were lucky it was such a sunny afternoon so we sat outside the cafe with a cup of tea and a slice of shortbread- delicious!
We thought it was a brilliant day out and highly recommend!

Took my Grandpa who adores aeroplanes yesterday to celebrate his 87th birthday. We had a lovely day and were very impressed with the wide collection of planes, cleanliness of the site and the friendliness of the staff who couldn’t do enough for us.
Special shout-out to Nick on the cockpit team for spending lots of time showing us round the planes and letting Grandpa sit in the cockpit as a special birthday treat - it made his day thank you!
Also thank you to Teresa and the other ladies in the cafe for a lovely lunch.
We look forward to visiting again.

Great little air museum with some very good exhibits. A number of the staff provide cockpit and cabin tours. I found the staff very informative and helpful.

High lights for me were being allowed inside cockpit of a vulcan bomber and talking to ex pilot with 20yrs experience on them , and being able to sit inside cockpit of jaguar fast jet , very informative guide to show the lay out of it .
Good cafe there as well ,plus good shop

I won't say much, but some will notice I left a none-too favourable review a few years back.
Fair to say the former no longer stands. A real tour-de-force of a turnaround here! The staff are now helpful, have a more positive and engaging attitude, and an incredible amount of work appears to have gone into the exhibits. One of the aircraft has fallen into disrepair, but I understand this is beyond the museum's control as the aircraft is on loan.
THANK YOU!

Wow, what a day! It has been a brilliant day. Visited on a rainy day and it was a perfect day out. It is deceptively bigger and takes a good few hours to go round. The volunteers really made the day, absolutely were brilliant with my 5 yr old. Was able to go into many of the planes including the Vulcan and they were very informative.
This place really is worth the admission fee, loads and loads of planes, war time items on show. Lots of information on each aircraft and people in the past including those who had lost their lives in war.
There were request for donations when going into the planes where the volunteers were which we were happy to pay as these places will go under if we don't keep visiting and supporting.

Visited yesterday when very quiet. Had a great homemade quiche for lunch and the volunteers on the exhibits were amazing and engaging. Absolutely superb.

I work as a Teacher at an independent special needs school. We visited with 3 of our children with autism and associated complex needs on 23/07/24. The staff/volunteers manning the two indoor open cockpits were absolutely amazing with our children, interesting but also considerate of their needs and wandering attention spans. A special thank you to the gentlemen doing the talks with the Vulcan outside, really patient with our young people and managed to sustain their attention for longer than I've known before! A great day and from a personal perspective really pleased to see the ongoing works to maintain the exhibits in such good condition.
