We had an absolutely horrendous stay and had to leave at 11pm the evening of arrival. We attempted to discuss this with the member of staff on reception at the point of departure however he was more interested in arguing with us about the remaining charges on the room. Peeling paint in the corridors, missing tiles in the pool area, mouldy showerhead in our room. The towels smelled musty and stale. But the straw that broke the camels back was that the bed was so unclean. It smelled of urine and left both me and my fiance feeling itchy and as if we'd been bitten by something living in the bed. Nobody has yet taken accountability for any of the issues we experienced. You have been warned.
Show more...Just popped in for coffee (latte and a flat white)and cake this morning.(Victoria sponge and carrot cake) Helen the waitress very attentive and informative. Our dog was made welcome and snacks offered.(fresh carrot) John the new manager came to chat as well.
Show more...We were really please with our stay here. Nice large rooms, a little bit old fashioned but clean and you get a lovely breakfast. We had dinner also here, and the food was really great! We ordered Rump Steak and Pan Fried Chicken Breast for our mains, and after that I had sticky toffee pudding for our dessert with a single shot of espresso for my boyfriend! Excellent service from the 2 staff. Even though it was busy and there were many guest, they still accommodated and served our request and food on time! Special thanks to neena for upselling a good dessert! I really like it.
Show more...My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. Service was great! Would like to thanks Neena who exceed our expectations. Food in the restaurant was really good especially their dessert (Sticky Toffee Pudding) which neena recommend. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again..
Show more...I have been coming to the hotel and spa for many years and over the years have seen many changes in the hotel and staff but my most recent visit was great. Although the hotel could do with a bit of upkeep and a lick of paint, it is still lovely. I did encounter some issues while at the hotel, but these were quickly rectified by a lady called Terrie, who was more than happy to listen and help me. She is an asset to this team and would definitely recommend finding her if you need anything during your stay. I will definitely be back soon.
Show more...May I say what an absolutely beautiful inside and out spa ladyTerrie (I think her name) whom used to be spa manager Nothing was too much trouble for her. went above and beyond her duties whilst over worked under staffed on a busy shift. She is a true asset to your business

Show more...Visited this past weekend to celebrate my birthday with my mum. We were looking forward to the spa break and a relaxing weekend- we knew as soon as we arrived it was going to be a rubbish weekend based off all the people in reception complaining.... We arrived at 1pm knowing we couldn't check into our room yet, but hoping to have some lunch and use the spa facilities. We were told they had our spa booking but couldn't find our hotel booking and blamed it on spa seekers. We had to email over the confirmation of our booking to the reception. No one seemed to know if we could use the spa facilities yet or not so we headed over to see. Our welcome to the spa was pretty poor- the lady at reception was rude and informed us we weren't on the list for treatments. We showed her the email saying our treatment was at 5pm and she said she'd be able to squeeze us in. She got us a towel but said there was no robes left as none had been sent from laundry, but we watched her get some clean ones and put them under her desk. The changing rooms were filthy and covered in towels and robes. The spa itself was pitiful. Tiny pool and hot tub and a tiny sauna and steam room. There wasn't enough lounges for all the people there. The pool was cold and there were floating lights that had fallen out the walls. At 4pm the pool filled up with children and was no longer relaxing at all. We couldn't even sit next to the pool due to the splashing and screaching. Our treatments were ok- possibly the only decent thing all day. I went to check us in at 3pm as I was worried there was going to be more problems and wanted to give us time to get anything sorted out so we could just enjoy the spa the rest of the day. I asked reception about our face masks, prosecco and grazing board that were included in the package and was told they'd be brought to the room at 5. I explained our treatments were at 5 so they agreed to bring it at 6:30. I went up to the room- which was ok but tired- but they had given us a double bed insyead of a twin room.i had to go back and join the queue again to change rooms. We had to keep going back to reception all evening. There was only one towel in the room for 2 of us, then the hairdryer was missing. By 6:45 the nibbles and prosecco hadnt been delivered yet. I went to reception to check and was told they'd ask the chef, but that the prosecco and face masks should have been given to us at the spa. Eventually everything was sent to the room at 7:15 (15 minutes before our dinner reservation) but we were missing a face mask. We had a dinner reservation at 7:30 but when we showed up the waiter said 'there should be room for us' despite us booking a table a week in advance. The room was a horrible atmosphere - everyone had been complaining and we're unhappy. We ordered and waited 1hr20 for our food which was basic and a bit bland. The table next to us had their mains brought before their starters. People were cancelling their orders and going to order a takeaway as they were so unhappy. We asked for another bottle of wine from a waiter and were told to go ask at the bar ourselves. When I went to pay the bill they kept insisting we pay on check out to get the food voucher taken off our bill- it took quite a bit of effort to let me settle the bill that night. The beds were ok and comfortable. The room was very very hot and our window was broken so wouldn't open. The walls are so thin and we could hear everything our neighbours were doing all night. The next morning we didn't have high expectations of breakfast. We had to ask for glasses, cutlery and mugs and there were no clean tables. I ordered some vegetarian sausages. When they came I tried them and was 99% sure they were meat- there was gristle and fat in them you don't get in veggie sausages. My mum tried it (who eats meat) and agreed they weren't veggie. I asked the waitress to check and she said 'the chef says they are veggie and I can only go off what he says, but you don't need to eat them if you don't want to.' I found this a very odd response and I knew they weren't veggie- I've been vegan/veggie a long time and I have never had sausages like them before. It was gross and left us even more unhappy as we checked out. I did think it was funny the reception staff didn't ask anyone how there stay was as we checked out- guess they knew what people's answers would be based of the line of people waiting to speak to the manager. We didn't want to wait we just wanted to get out of there and try and enjoy the rest of our weekend! Will never ever be back.
Show more...I had booked an overnight spa break through Spaseekers for my daughters birthday. This was the worst spa break I have been to . Prior to the date we were arriving I had tried numerous times to ring the hotel but had no response. I emailed and eventually got a response but did not answer my questions . When we arrived at the hotel reception the receptionist was rude apparently they didn't have my booking but had a record about my enquires I had to send my email from Spa seekers to the receptionist I was then told we had a booking .We couldn't check in until 3pm so we went to the restaurant for lunch. The tables were dirty and the service was poor. I left cash on the table but was informed they don't take cash . We were directed to the 'spa' the lady we spoke to was rude and unwelcoming again I was told they didn't have my booking even though I had recieved a treatment time from the spa following this conversation I asked for towels and a robe she said they didn't have any because they hadn't had a delivery .We were then told to complete some form's and she went to find a towel . After receiving a small towel we were told all the lockers were full, but this wasn't the case in the locker room . The changing room was dirty and piles of used towels and robes on the floor .We eventually got a robe but it was dirty . The spa is poor, the pool and jacuzzi were small and cold ,loose wire on the floor of the jacuzzi ,A small steam and jacuzzi. At 3 p.m., my daughter went to check in at the hotel initially given the key to a double bed, I had booked a twin room . At 4pm in the spa, children started coming in I hadn't booked a spa break to have children present . The only thing positive about the experience was our treatment . The hotel room was tired and dirty there was one towel for 2 people .We had to go to reception on a couple of occasions for towels ,hairdryer, and remote control. Part of our package included nibbles, prosecco and a face mask we had to ask numerous times for this . Dinner service was chaotic initially told I hadn't booked a table ,our table was dirty, no cutlery. Food expensive and awful . Breakfast service was poor. I had to ask for a cup .No organisation hardly any food out . My daughter asked for a vegan sausage she was 3 sausages after biting in one it was clear it was vegan but meat . The whole experience was a nightmare, and not one member of staff asked if the food or room was okay .They probably knew what the answer would be .

Hotel is reasonable - good price for personal need and those of my group. Had booked 2 rooms (triple and double with single bed) Excellent checkin - Rooms fit for purpose - bedding clean - good supply of tea and coffee - bathroom clean and reasonably functional - (sadly taps for the shower were virtually impossible to turn on). Needed to charge my EV - (booked hotel due to a availability of charge point) - sadly the night staff were unable to give me the details on how to log on rendering the charger useless to me! As pod point is private access is code secure). Access to the pool was denied to the three 15 yr old boys with me ( another reason for booking) as they were ‘to young’ despite hotel policy saying they could swim in the morning. Not a great way to endear 3 young sportsmen!! Apparently breakfast was ok. I turned up at 9.55 to be greeted with empty cereal supplies - no bread for toast and some highly suspect looking fruit, no mugs / cups for tea and a serious amount of attitude from the lady serving. Additionally every table was covered in uncollected dishes and half eaten cooked breakfasts. The hotel manager ‘John’ was very helpful during our arrival but the majority of the other staff ( not all) were sullen and disinclined to help or any degree of civility.
