Offering truly breathtaking, uninterrupted views across the Yorkshire countryside that must seen to be believed, Wrea Head offers arguably on of the most beautiful setting of all Scarborough hotels. Surrounded by the endless scenery of England’s most beautiful county – from the heather filled Moors and scenic Dales to the spectacular Yorkshire heritage coastline – you can choose make your break as active, or relaxing, as you like.
Show more...The hotel exceeded our expectations. Location, grounds, accommodation, meals, hospitality, staff, value for money. - all exceptional. Couldn’t recommend the Wrea Head more highly. We enjoyed a fabulous short break at the hotel, celebrating a birthday with two other couples. A well run, well managed hotel. The staff were all without exception, exceptional in terms of friendliness, service, care and consideration of guests. Obviously, well trained. The hotel deserves to succeed in these changing and challenging times.
Show more...Our second stay .. a lovely country house hotel.. delicious dinner.. great staff.. perhaps light the fire on a dreary damp day to give some atmosphere.. bar lacking in atmosphere and out of character with rest of hotel.. will look forward to seeing the gardens rejuvenated
Show more...Great two night, weekend break for Mother's Day. All of the staff were outstanding - very friendly, well trained and nothing was too much trouble (hats off to the waitress (sorry, didn't catch your name) and chef who arranged for favourite dessert not on the menu). Special mention to Josh for bar service - obviously took pride in doing his job well. Thank you. Twin room was nice and well cleaned. Oodles of very hot water! Evening meals were great - menus a nice mix of traditional and inventive dishes (please though can you flag to guests that the menu changes on Sunday). Very generous portions - come with an empty tummy! One minor niggle - please can you make available lattes/cappucinos during the day. We had to go into the village for elevensies (no great hardship, but would have preferred to stay at the hotel with our books! Looking forward to visiting again.
Show more...We stayed at Wrea Head with a party of eight friends for a reunion. Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were more than helpful, the meals were excellent and the rooms in the Coach House are delightful. Could not have been better. Can’t wait to come back!

Show more...My wife and I have just returned home from a fabulous two night break at the Wrea Head hotel. We’ve been going there for over twenty years and it just gets better and better. The present owners have clearly invested heavily in maintaining and transforming this beautiful building yet at the same time managing to retain much of its original character. They are to be congratulated. Our stay there was exceptional in every regard, faultless, and Kevin the manager should take credit for this. All the staff are courteous and well trained and work seamlessly to ensure the delivery of near perfection for their guests. The quality of the food produced by Andrew the hotel Chef, for over fifteen years, together with his team was outstanding and they produced some amazing menus. Thank you so much team Wrea Head, look forward to seeing you again…..very soon. Richard and Monica Farley
Show more...I was in room 41, which was an upgrade, our original room was having work done. The facilities were excellent, the 3 course dinner was superb, a good menu to choose from. The breakfast was 1st class, great menu, wine a little expensive, the staff were very attentive, helpful, and efficient. This visit made even better by good weather. Bed and shower was also superb. Well done Wrea head hall.
Show more...Stayed 2 nights bed, breakfast and evening meal. Everything excellent from moment we arrived to departure. Friendly and welcoming staff and first class service from all the team. Thank you Tracie, you have a first class workforce. Food can only be described as exceptional, 5 star at every meal. Room 12 we stayed in really comfortable and a great night’s sleep! Cannot praise this gem of a hotel highly enough, absolutely brilliant, we will be back!!
Show more...This was the first time we had been to Wrea Head Hall after being highly recommended by our family & friends. The Hall has so much character and is set in lovely grounds. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was very good. Our room was very much in keeping with the tradition of the building although a bit too warm on a night. Indeed it was a lovely touch to have the curtains drawn and the bedside lamps on when on arrival we entered the room. We loved the big roaring fire at the bottom of the imposing wooden staircase which is great for a winter weekend away. We do think it needs to maintain its history and not go too modern though. The main bar is slightly at odds with the rest of the hotel & has very bright lighting but the attached conservatory does make up for it. We nevertheless had a great weekend with a visit to Scarborough , a walk on the beach, some cockles & mussels, a play on the penny slot machines & a trip up the funicular tram. Fabulous weekend and we shall definitely be returning.

We had a wonderful break and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is in a lovely location, beautiful views over open fields and gardens. The staff team are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. It was our first visit but we’ll be returning. Our room was beautiful, the decor throughout the hotel is excellent. The breakfast and evening meal menus are superb, something for everyone, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The bar is well stocked, comfortable seating, nice atmosphere when guests arrive ready for the evening meal. We loved everything about the hotel, it’s clear that the staff are valued and a very happy team. On meeting the owner we realised why, what a lovely welcome we had. A pleasure to meet you all, thank you for making our stay so perfect.
