The Barcelona L'Aquàrium is located in the old harbour, Port Vell, and is the world's most important marine leisure and education centre dedicated to Mediterranean undersea life. It is the perfect place to find out about the seabed and all its different species. You'll learn about them through the 66 Mediterranean and tropical tanks which are home to 11,000 animals from some 450 different species. The most spectacular of all is the immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe. A transparent 80-metre-long tunnel runs through the Oceanarium where you can walk among sharks, giltheads, morays, ocean sunfish and many more species. Planeta Aqua and Explora! show the importance of water in the development of our planet, and kids can discover the underwater world by using their five senses.
Show more...The place is 75% closed - they are reparing everything. But the price is full and no one tells you when you enter that most part of the space is under reconstruction.
We spent a lot of time to get here on a very hot day with my daughter and were very disappointed with the experience.
Nice attraction to visit with family, although we only visited with my husband, I suppose the kids would have been more impressed.
Show more...Very expensive for such a small aquarium. We spent there 30 mins only, the diversity of species is questionable. I wouldn’t recommend.
Show more...This aquarium is Very small .. priced at 100 euro for 2 adults 2 teens .. and 3 euro for information booklet ( cheaper online so I’d suggest booking ahead for sure) it’s a nice spot to go when you want out of the sun ..and it’s always nice to watch sea animals ..but I was disappointed with how small it was and I feel it was expensive for what it was.
Show more...My friend and I were flabbergasted when we saw the fish swimming in aquariums that were the same size as them. There were a few mediocre tanks that would have been acceptable, but there were so many fish pressed into those big tanks.
We really regret having spent 25 Euros on something so abysmal.
Nice aquarium. Walkthrough tunnel is a highlight, as well as the penguins. Some interactive games and play areas which the kids enjoyed.
Food inside is expensive.
It was a nice family activity to get out of the sun whilst visiting the city.
Walk from Metro is about 10 minutes.
Nice area around it, plenty of restaurants and convenience stores.
Much of the building is under construction, which the website does not inform you of prior to booking. I read other reviews which stated that it takes 2 hours to complete. In its current state, 2nd July 2024, it takes a maximum of 40 mins. Not worth £73 (2 adults / 2 children). It should be discounted owing to some of the attractions not being ready.
Show more...The tanks are very clean and the fish seem very healthy. Many of the fish are very beautiful. It costs 25 euros to enter. It’s rather small for the price and there is a lot of construction going on.
Show more...Total shame. At the height of summer tourist season and multiple exhibits were closed. Aquarium looks like it has been neglected. For being one of the largest aquariums in Europe, it was a big disappointment. Lots of construction and closed exhibits. A bit of a waste of money, unfortunately. Hard to spend more than an hour here.

For 25€ we expected much more since we've been to other aquariums all over Europe. This one had a very small selection of species, the underwater tunnel is cool but there is very few fish in the surrounding tank. The moving belt was not working so this part of the aquarium got very crowded. Penguins have a fairly small enclosure where they can barely move, so they just sit in the corner and overall it just looks sad..
