I visited the The Aberdeen Gin Distillery with my girlfriend for the gin making experience. Alan and Dan gave a nice welcome to us and have really made something special here and are very knowledgable about all things gin.
We were amazed to see how unique and special the building is and how they have designed the distillery.
When starting the experience Alan provides a great tour and it is interesting to find out the background of gin.
When it is time to make the gin we were presented with a huge selection of ingredients and it was so much fun to be able to come up with your own flavours and do all the process of making the gin ourselves. Throughout the time Dan is providing drinks of gin to taste which is great!
I would highly recommend anyone to attend this as you will definitely have a good time and get to leave with a bottle of gin made by you!

Highly recommend a visit here. Dan & Alan were brilliant hosts. We managed to get tickets at short notice. (Booking recommended, as they shall get busier, even during the current pandemic)

Tasted all but one of their gins. (Bought a 5cl bottle to taste at home. Plus a couple of larger ones also) Quality flavour and smoothness in all.

We intend to return to do the gin school.

I went here with my boyfriend and another couple for an afternoon doing the Gin Masterclass. I cannot recommend this class enough. They were super about letting us book as a social bubble and you felt so safe. Sometimes after this type of experience you feel a little like it’s all been a selling tactic but we had plenty of alcohol for what we paid and learned loads! I plan on telling all my friends and family about this distillery and I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Firstly, the people behind the business, Dan and Alan, were an absolute pleasure to deal with and they've created a very welcoming, yet cool distillery environment. We were given a fun and informative talk on the history of gin, then guided through the gin making process, which was super fun. There are some very interesting botanicals to choose from! If that wasn't fun enough, we were given various samples/drinks of their very own gin distillates, which were delicious incidentally! As an Aberdonian, it's fantastic to see Aberdeen City's first gin distillery, not only producing spirits but creating a unique drink experience for locals and visitors - this can only be a good thing for the city.

Alan and Don are fantastic and informative hosts. They encouraged us to learn as much as we could about Gin, flavours and how to make our own Gin. The venue is both a history lesson and a design venue. So much attention to detail has been put in to the whole place that even the Aprons are a design classic. Thank you both, for a fantastic afternoon. See you again soon. x

I was gifted a gin school experience from my partner Christmas 2019. It was well worth the wait!
Dan and Alan were fabulous hosts and made me feel very welcome, their passion and enthusiasm for their craft really shines! I came away having learned a lot, laughed a lot and feeling looked after and sampled some tasty gins.
Can honestly say, as a “key worker”, it is the most fun I’ve had this year to date!

p.s. the gin I made was amazing and went down a storm. Thank you.

Although only booked the night before, we were able to take part in the Gin Masterclass where we were the only people there. Andy and Dan were incredibly welcoming to their cosy little distillery and were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We felt it was value for money as we consumed a lot of gin! We both purchased our favourites of the day which came in different sizes which we liked and even bought some for Christmas presents. Being so closely located to Union Square meant we were both able to take part as normally at such events one of us has to drive and you forget where you are until a train passes over head. Would highly recommend this to anyone and we will be back for sure!

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Not the usual gin history chat and very interesting. Great selection of gins to taste and the idea of learning to distill my own gin really appears.

Well done on the adventure so far Alan & Dave and hopefully back for a masterclass soon.

The history of distilling in Aberdeen and how they are carrying on the tradition is commendable. Very interesting and the two hosts Alan and Dan were super attentive. Simple explanation made the entire visit extremely enjoyable and entertaining.

A fabulous way to spend an afternoon (or a morning if you are a morning person) in Aberdeen.
This Gin masterclass was a birthday treat and one of the best I have ever received. I did not exactly know what to expect so I would not want to spoil it for someone else, but let’s say that if you are a gin lover this is definitely for you.
Don & Alan, the founders of Aberdeen city Gin distillery have for sure polished their masterclass: there is no rest for one’s curiosity and enthusiasm. While you will learn about spirits, gin, the distilleries in Aberdeen and the shire, visit the facility, get a glimpse of the process and have very generous tastes of the house production (on that note you should walk to the Distillery or take a bus or a cab!) , you understand you are going to professionally make your own gin! and this is a huge responsibility!
All those spices, flowers, herbs It is a very good thing that Alan & Don guide you through your choices to help materialise one of your dreams in a bottle you will bring home, named, professionally labelled and sealed. The temptation is too big to put too much!
Then, once home, starts another one which is : wait for the aromas to settle and apparently it takes 3 months!
