These falls add to Betws-y-Coed's already great rustic beauty.
Show more...Great we could walk from our hotel. The waterfalls were lovely.
Be aware you have to pay £2 entry per person for everyone on a contactless bank card. We didn't stay for long as the area isn't that big but the waterfalls were great to look at
Beautiful place. I went twice in March, once with my dad, his wife and my sister and secondly with my mum and grandparents. With my dads side we did a hike/trail from a carpark near the top of the non-normal side of the falls, the walk was a bit adventurous in places but worth it. The views were so lovely and it was very quiet due to it not being the usual view point.
The second time with my grandparents was also wonderful, they are 89 and 92 and there were quite a few steps to get to the bottom of the falls (so Grandad and I stayed at the top) but it was spectacular nonetheless. It is £2 per person to go in but it was beautiful (and stairs you can see which you wouldn't have if it was free!)
I'd highly recommend, and if you can, go the day after heavy rain or if you're up for it, during a light rain spatter as it'll be fairly quiet!
Falls are very near Betty’s-y- Coed village and worth a quick visit if in the area. There are quite a few steps down to the bottom. We went about 5 pm mid Sept and wasn’t too busy so could maintain social distancing but this attraction is not ‘manned’ so is down to people to do so themselves. Entrance is via a turn stile type entrance £2 per person contactless payment.
Show more...It seemed silly not calling in here as it was on our journey back to the midlands from Snowdon, we pulled in on the layby by the road and paid the £2 per person fee(this was a surprise but its a small amount).
The weather recently had been tipping it down so the waterfall was in full effect and having shown the photos to someone who had been before was a lot more impressive than when they went.
It's certainly not worth a journey just to see this and with Ceunant Mawr Waterfall right by Snowdons Llanberis path, that is certainly the better option, but if you are passing its well worth the 30minute stop.
After an exhilarating walk through a beautiful forest, we arrived at the waterfall itself. Not only was it beautiful to view, but the relaxing sound of the flowing water and the ambience of the surroundings added to the experience. Although we visited at a less than busy time, it was slightly annoying to have a couple in front of us who thought it was their sole right to take numerous photos of themselves in front of the waterfall without any consideration for other visitors who also wanted to take pictures! One thing we would recommend is that if you are thinking of walking back to the town centre, it's probably advisable to follow the road until you reach the gate that leads to the miners bridge rather than take the short cut through the forest going back as some of the footpath was quite hazardous and could easily have caused sprained ankles or worse. Also, if you are going by car and put the postcode into your satnav, it just falls short of the actual waterfall itself and the parking area at the Swallow Falls Hotel. The car park for the aforementioned hotel was actually closed but there is parking in a roadside lay-by adjacent to the entrance of the falls. The £2 entry fee was well worth it. Cash payments only - there was no card payment facility.

It’s not somewhere you can come and really enjoy the beauty of the place as there’s pressure from others for you to move on quickly.
I don’t think I’d bother going again if I was in the area.
We poped in sadly it was raining but think it added to the beauty.
Entry is £2 there is parking on a layby just outside so free parking or a pub directly opposite charging £2 but refundable if you use the pub.
They take card or cash and open 24/7 as its just like a turnstile.
The turnstiles are fairly tight so wouldn't want to have motability issues or pregnant as it is tight getting in.
Wales has loads of beautiful places and this is one you can not miss if local or passing through.
We were staying in betws y coed and walked up along the river to swallow falls. The walk up was amazing, so beautiful! It took over an hour with us stopping for photos.
When we got to swallow falls we felt let down as it wasn’t half as good as the walk to get there! Entrance is £2 each. We were lucky that it was quiet- only 2 other people there, but we only stayed for around 10 mins and had seen it all by then
This is the location I asked my fiance to marry me on new years day. I chose it as it really is a beautiful waterfall that has 3 stages and three different platforms at where you can take in the view. You pay £2 each to enter but it is worth it. It doesn't take long to see the waterfall but its one of the best around so take some time to go and see it :).
Recommended activity around the best y coed area for nature lovers

Been here a few times maybe 4 years on an off but nothing changes. Went 2 years ago November time freezing cold we complained to no avail they knocked £10 off. Years on still no heating on (penny pinching). Food in pub just ok, no more. Mattresses need replacing well ours did. After being closed for heaven knows how long we expected it to at least to be repainted but no. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad place to go but I’m afraid at these prices expected more. Sad to say but went to premier inn 4 weeks ago £30 cheaper and lots more comfortable and all you can eat breakfast. Can’t compare. Sorry but you’ve lost a fairly loyal costumer
