Show more...We were new in town and needed information on places to eat as well as directions concerning climbing Slieve Donars (the high point for the area).
Show more...We cannot visit N Ireland without a visit to Newcastle and we cannot visit Newcastle without dropping into the Visitors Centre. Loads of quality leaflets and info for all types of places, activities, accommodation etc. All backed up by friendly and efficient personnel. We were given some good tempting info, which we will certainly follow up on our next visit to the area next January. But it is not just an information centre, it has a well stocked shop, selling a varying range of quality merchandise at realistic prices we can never leave without spending money!. Visiting Newcastle is a must. Good beaches and dunes, easy but energetic and bracing promenade walk. Easy parking and some good coffee shops.
Show more...The visitor centre is great, the staff are helpfull and have maps and leaflets for local walks. They also have lovely items which you can buy!
Show more...OK, I know that tourist information staff are supposed to be helpful. But we went there twice and on both occasions, the ladies bent over backwards to be helpful. The first time was five minutes before closing. You would have thought that we were the first folks we had seen all day - they were so welcoming. None of this "we are closing for the evening" attitude. They seemed to get on well with each other and whoever has encouraged such a warm and customer-focussed team should be applauded.
Show more...The centre will help you with everything, from finding a local B&B to orientation of the area. Highly recommended. And don“t miss under any circumstances: Tollymore Forest Park, Slieve Donard (mountain), Murlough beach.
Show more...Great tourism facility ,staff with great knowledge of local & surrounding areas .right in the heart of town..
Show more...A useful & informative resource, they provided us with plenty of info to enhance our stay in Newcastle.
Show more...We found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The selection of maps, books and other items is good and the place is bright. Impressed by the provision of chairs for those who need to sit down and we were offered the loan of a wheelchair to save us getting ours out of the car as we were packed up for the return journey. Full marks!
Show more...Staff very helpful. The centre is well worth a visit. I was looking for a few gifts to bring home. Most items were quite expensive. In places other than Newcastle I visited they stock nicely decorated tins of tea bags and jams or ladies neck scarfs which are all of good quality and make affordable presents. Not interested in purchasing key rings or tea towels. Perhaps next time I am back the Centre will have more items in stock.
