We had a pleasant photo experience there where we booked first via phone a photo experience slot (took us about 90 mins) which will cost you £20 per adult and £15 per child for 4 printed photo frames and you can add £10 to take all photos on a USB stick (the 4 photos and all other photos shot as a variety will be taken for you to choose from) Sergio was our man there who was really cheerful, helpful and creative throughout the whole experience from choosing outfits to dressing to photo shooting. Many outfits are available for you to choose from thru different eras in Scotland and with different sizes to suit all ages and genders. Also the store has a very big variety of souvenirs and Scottish products if you’re after some.

We originally went in the hopes of taking a photo dressed in traditional Scottish clothing as advertised online and outside the building, however this costed £20 per person which we thought was exaggerated.

The shop itself is extremely nice with multiple floors which are ideal for the Scottish tourist, Harry Potter fans (best Harry Potter shop I’ve seen in Edinburgh so far) and also for outlander fans (lots of Fraser/Mackenzie clan items, an official outlander hat and a giant poster of Jamie to take photos with). It was also fun looking through the glass at the functioning weaving mills and at the bagpipes on sale.

My mum, grandmother and myself thought this was be worth the laugh. However, all in all, expensive, unprofessional booking/waiting procedure and opted for the more expensive option to have photos put on USB as we were traveling back to Australia (didn't want the prints damaged).
Get home. no photos on USB!!!! Have tried to contact company regarding this as soon as we got home, but no reply.

I wanted to see what I looked like in a kilt and I found out this shop offered a photo experience. It takes 20-30 mins, you try on 1 costume and can have lots of photos taken with different props - bagpipes, sword, Scottish flag etc with a professional background. Sara was the photographer and she made it a fun experience.

You pay £20 for 1 large photo and for £10 extra you can have all photos on a USB stick.

The USB stick was not recognised by my computer so Zoe helpfully sent all of the photos to be electronically when I got home.

All in all a fun and worthwhile experience with memories to treasure

We like to take pictures in traditional clothing from the countries we visit and we found this place; we had to make an appointment as they are organizing people and keeping coronavirus measures. It cost us £20 per person and we add the £10 to take all photos on a USB stick. Sergio was our photographer, he was very nice, professional and cheerful. He shows you the outfits available and help with his photographer eye to get nice creative pictures. We enjoyed the experience and were satisfied with the result.

actually i am writing about the store branch in Edinborough airport but this is the same company so they will be responsible for overall service and accountability. There is no returns service or customer service. The tel number on your receipt does not connect and neither does the email. The staff at the main store shop were disinterested in helping me and said they'd ask someone to call from the airport branchthey did not. No customer service or returns appear to be available chose carefully my friend as you will be stuck with the item!

The Harry Potter shop on B1 should be reported to trading standards. All items in the shop were priced a lot lower than they were when you got to the till. What type of shop does that!?!? The actual cost of the items was double or more. Avoid at all costs. Would not recommend at all!

Don’t visit this place at level B. We waited 10 mins after selecting tartan clothes that we wanted to purchase.
We approached to a member of staff near to us (whom appeared free). He asked us to go and speak to another person at the floor.
When we finally, found a person who is responsible for he told us that he doesn’t have time to explain. It was shocking.
We were very shocked by the behaviours of members of staff.

As the shop is located directly below the castle, we were prepared to be gutted. But the food in the small café was very reasonably priced and tasty.
The shop itself is a kind of Tardis - bigger on the inside. Large selection and in large parts not overpriced either. Of course, there is also the usual nonsense for tourists, but also a lot of beautiful and useful pieces, where you don't have to be angry afterwards about having been ripped off.
