Peadar O'Donnels, the home of Live traditional & contemporary music in Derry. On our premises we have 3 different bars – Peadar O’Donnells, the Gweedore Bar and Fifty Seven Waterloo St. Peadars is known throughout the world and is a must visit location for the many tourists that flock to Derry in ever increasing numbers. We are famous for, among other things, our live music which is largely organised but has regular impromptu sessions from either local musicians or visiting performers. Whichever of our bars you would like to visit, you are guaranteed a warm welcome, a good time and the best pint of Guinness in Derry!
Show more...Dropped in for a drink after dinner.. the place was heaving but just inside the door a girl said we could sit at her table … they were the friendliest people I ever met.. true people from Derry, I asked! We had great fun and crack, the music was fantastic, the crack was fantastic and we had a job to leave as the people at our table were encouraging us to stay. Great night, well worth a visit. Be prepared to sing and dance! Age no obstacle

Show more...You just know when a person has worked in a place too long by the way they refer to and treat customers . I was in Peadar's on Sunday with my wife and two adult children to watch the All Ireland semi final between Tyrone and Dublin . There was a lady serving behind the bar wearing a red bandana . I tried a number of times on different occasions to get her attention to buy a drink . To no avail . If it hadn't been for the gentleman serving with her I think We would have gone thirsty . On about my 4 th trip to the bar I decided to speak as I was waiting quite some time for service . I excused myself as she worked at glasses . " wait a minute !" She coarsely told me . I was shocked , I still am . I've never been spoken to in such a way . She continued her work and never came back to me . I just went back to my seat , watched the end of the game and left , without another drink . Now Peadar's is a lovely bar , I have enjoyed going there in the past . I will however think twice before going back . Derry is a big place and there are other lovely bars , where I won't be rebuked for trying to order a drink .
Show more...Seems to be a popular spot. It was packed but some kind locals made room at a table. Drinks came quickly. The bar has lots of random stuff hanging all over, which gives it a lot of character.
Show more...Great atmosphere, interesting items all over, nice staff and a good pint. Loved it and everyone was so friendly and happy to chat. There are loads of flags on the ceiling; Spain, Germany, Wales, Norway, even Bangladesh, but no English flag. Considering the number of English visitors that go there it would be nice to see the cross of St George on the ceiling-maybe I should take one next time I visit.
Show more...We visited Peadars last week, originally for the cheap drinks but ended up getting so much more! Sitting at the bar we got local knowledge from the very friendly locals and the best customer service from Celina and Liam behind the bar!!! Thanks for a great night guys, Carol and Maeve, the Cork and Kerry girls!
Show more...i was at this pub a few years back and I thought it was a great traditional Irish pub. the Guiness was great and so was the atmosphere. There were three fellas in the corner playing a guitar, fiddle, and a bodhran I think, and they were fantastic. From were I was at first I didn't know they were there and I asked my Irish friend if they have any live music and he said "what do think you are listening to?" He told me they were local fellas who payed for drinks! Just fantastic. I will definitely attend again. Slainte!!
2 drinks, bacardi and vodka with a small bottle of cola between us 9 quid wtf. Won't be back felt like I waz in a chewin the fat scene. Scottish people boycott
Show more...My wife and I visited the Bar on 13th June at 8 o,clock,we remarked to the bar staff that we were drawn into the place due to its quirky decor. There were only four other people drinking when a couple entered,it was obvious he was very drunk, after being served they sat with two guys who were enjoying a quiet drink. What happened next was so frightening that my wife and I left fearing for our safety the reason for this was racist, sectarian, obscene verbal outburst the likes of which I thought had been left behind in the 1970s. This was not directed at us but was so shocking that we had to leave. If this is the way visitors are welcomed here I would advise caution were you go to and if you go to Waterloo Street avoid Peadar O,Donnells Bar at all costs.

Called in at the end of a rather long pub crawl round Derry on a Sunday.
Show more...The bar was busy but there was still some space at the back and bar service was efficient.
The highlight was the music and the atmosphere. Was just brilliant with lots of traditional Irish medleys being played. The whole bar was singing along and dancing.
Everyone was in great form and there was plenty of banter throughout.
Definitely needs included on any visit to Derry
