My 16 month old loves it but would not go when he is older as not worth the money you pay for an adult let alone a child. I would just avoid at Easter, there was not much there. And the cafe staff are useless, waited over 30 mins for 2 breakfasts, the waitresses just not got a clue what they are doing. Such a shame

Visit this afternoon very disappointing, advertised on facebook and on entry easter egg hunt and easter activities UNTIL the 24th of April there were NO easter activities to do, and there is no tearoom!!!!! it's a shop with a drinks machine and a pop up tent if you want a pizza need to remove off website and off entry miss leading customers, a few lambs sheep, goats, pigs 2 rabits a cow small sandpit and straw barn. just think for the money you charge you could offer so much more feeding goats and lamb milk with bottles, tractor rides, rabbit holding, chickens? Ducks? Go carts/track for kids better outdoor play for all ages!
Just needs more thought and costing been to farms costing the same amount with lots more.
There's a farm in Stonnall (apple tree farm) that's free just just pay for a sand bucket 🪣 of food and it's twice the size much more animals run by a family.
Me and my family went to Sandwell Valley to visit santa and got greeted by a lovely lady that gave the kids a Christmas activity sheet. All was well, we completed the sheet, then went to do some crafts. When we entered I found the member of staff to be rude and unbothered. Her job was to greet the children and replenish the craft tables, she did neither. Where the crafts were being held was not only depressing but dangerous. The tables were situated with a step one side and a giant concrete feeding trough the other side with no place to sit and hardly any crafts to complete. I remember last year we came it was magical, there was fake bubble snow and the kids were having the time of their lives and the crafts were so much better, there were members of staff dressed as elves and they made the experience amazing for the kids, they were so attentative. This year was massively disappointing. The actual santa visit was great as always and although there was a big queue there were members of staff to occupy the kids. I also just want to say there was this absolutely AMAZING elf on a penny farthing, he was so funny and the kids loved him, he was a welcome new addition and saved the experience for us. Just really wish more attention to detail had been paid like last year.

There are no animals there any more so why not open the doors so this lovely area can be enjoyed by more people. We had to stay outside the farm site. Then we had to go separately to order our coffee then lady brought it out to middle of park. The cafe was not busy and it was late morning So much easier for all if we could sit at cafe table. The bacon bap was delicious when we finally got it!!

There is a mapped circular walk to visit most of the site, and includes several places where you can obtain hot drinks, food etc. Complete walk which starts & finishes at the RSPB visitor centre is about 5/6 miles.
The RSPB visitor centre is a must ! Lovely building situated high above a large lake, with picture windows to watch bird feeders only an arms length away (serves cake & tea/coffee) . There is a flock of bright green cockatiels, breeding & nesting in the park, & along with many other species ie spotted woodpeckers, chaffinches, to name but a few, continuously using the feedersa can't miss moment
I love Sandwell valley its a great place to walk. I cant comment on the kids play area but it's always busy so must be good. It's nice to see people use this place so much. Carparking 40p per hour loads of different walks. Definitely worth a visit. Toilets & cafe available. Bike hire, Swan boats on pool in summer there's always lots going on.

After a good walk through the extremely muddy woods and around Swan Pool we had a takeaway butty and coffee from the cafe. Got there just before the queue became HUGE
Good value food and drink. Just nice to be able to enjoy it with friends
We took our new bikes here and was enjoying a nice cycle around. We cycled to the RSPB reserve and had a go of the mountain bike track. Then started the trouble near the car park a group of 12/13 year olds were saying something about our bikes, we took no notice as they moved on and arrived at the car. At this point they must have entered the toilets, as we could hear what sounded like they were smashing them up. They then surrounded our car threatening to take our bikes. People walked on by and it took us about 15 mins to get them to go away. They then went to the swan boats and started messing with them. We will never return.

We visited Forge Mill farm for a spot of pumpkin picking. Had to book online before our visit for a 2 hour time slot. £7 for a family ticket. After visiting I think this price was a little steep. It was then 80p for a 2 hour parking stay. On entry you are in the gift shop where you have to decide which size pumpkin you will choose and pay for it then you are given a coloured counter corresponding to the price you’ve paid. A very short walk around a few farmyard animals. Chickens , alpacas , etc . Then proceeded to the pumpkin patch with a half hearted sunflower maze type of activity. This was completely water logged which cannot be helped as we’d had heavy rain throughout the previous night. Lots of pumpkins to choose from. Friendly staff but we only stayed about an hour. My children are slightly older but I suppose a lot better for smaller children. Wellies definitely recommend for the picking but flat surfaces and good accessibility around the farm parts. Lots of hand washing facilities available.
