Nice spot with lots of different trails to walk the dog. Some wet patches on different trails, where wellies are needed but beautiful in the summer with a stream for the dogs to cool off in.
You DO need to pay for parking and in the summer months it can be difficult to find a parking spot.

Nice little cafe for ice creams, lunch and hot drinks with a seating area (outside only). Can get busy and expensive if you are taking all the family.

Visited Porthkerry last weekend on a sunny and hot day. Not been before and had wanted to go for ages. It is such a lovely place. Nice cobbly beach, woodlands, plenty of green space and some nice walks. Lovely park for the kids, a cafe and some public toilets (that were pretty clean and tidy). It was busy but we managed to find a spot to park (£2.50 cash only to park). Lots of families set up camp for the day with tents, bbqs, picnics etc. Really lovely place to chill or have a nice walk. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Fantastic day out. Lovely walks amazing pebble beach and rock pools. Pouring with rain made no difference.
Excellent cafe very reasonable. Great coffee and cakes.

Have been to Porthkerry Park multiple times since I was a child but it keeps looking as beautiful as ever.

Get lost in the multiple woodland walks, enjoy the fresh open green, stunning view from the pebbles as well as the obviously stunning viaduct.

Porthkerry park is a dog walkers dream and a summers day paradise for picnics. I’ve loved the park and surrounding walks for many years now and is well kept all year round.

Porthkerry Country Park makes a fantastic day out for everyone. It really is a hidden gem close to Barry Island with a pebble beach, lots of green space, woodland walks and a great children's playground. There are fantastic views and a cafe to enjoy drinks and snacks. In addition to the cafe there are lots of places to enjoy a picnic. If going for the day with children I would suggest taking a frisbee, kite, football or other outside games to make the most of the great outdoors.

A really lovely country park. Well worth a visit. Fab views, lots of space, Robins Walk is a lovely flat walk. Great family spaces. A pebble beach. A lovely kids playground, a nice little cafe (takeaway through hole in wall due to Covid), toilets and FREE parking! A great day out with family of all ages.

Such a lovely place and amazing it's so close to the crazy seaside resort of Barry island. You've acres of woodland and trails in the wood, a play area for little ones and a beach. Plus, a tea room and toilets, parking was cheap for the day. Lovely views and disused viaduct. Take a kite, football, frisbee, lots of open space to run and play. Such a nice day. Kids will love jumping streams, climbing trees etc. Real gem and well looked after by park rangers too.

Great walks in this lovely setting, with disabled access to the sea. Historic viaduct worth a look also. And having worked up an appetite visit the gem of a cafe for hot food and coffee and cakes, it’s a must

Came here with my wife for a walk and it was so relaxing to walk in the park and then on to a beach where you can walk for miles. It has various nature trails a mini golf course and a cafe. It has large open spaces where you can also have picnics and to take your children. Really enjoyed the day.

It's a cafe in a country park, sort of like the places you'd find at the beach, great for a cup of tea and an ice cream. Set on a raised, wooden, deck area, the outside seating can be fine on a pleasant, and even not so, day. Being set in a park, dogs are welcomed so it's hardly surprising when one of them urinates steadily against your table leg. OK, a one off most folk would assume, but we visited here when it was just opened after a make over a year so back and..yep, a large dog came and widdled all over our table and, as she couldn't extricate herself fast enough, the boot of my companion. The interior is bleak and shabby rick building complete with old metal chairs and wobbly tables. Service can vary greatly, we've had happy and chatty to surly and barely communicative. Food is what you'd expect, drinks are safer from a bottle and you should carry hygenic wipes to clean your surfaces before using.
