San Diego Whale Watch

What an amazing morning! We paid extra for priority boarding so we could be on the top deck, and I highly recommend this. The views were excellent and our naturalist was so informative and kept us in the loop as we searched the open waters. We unfortunately did not see any whales on our particular tour, but we saw mola mola, a mako shark, several pods of dolphins, and had a great time! We will definitely try again on our next visit.

This was a great experience. Well worth it. We saw lots of dolphins, I don’t believe it was whale season. Definitely worth the trip. The naturalist was very knowledgeable and made the experience so much more enjoyable. I recommend taking a blanket for the evening cruise.

Been on this tour several times and had a great time. Very disappointed with July 15. On water almost 3.5 hrs and didn’t see a single whale. Only saw a pod of dolphins. Water very rough. Could hardly walk on boat. Gloomy and cold. Company should have rescheduled this tour. Drove 8 hrs(16 RT)and had expense of gas and lodging for nothing. No longer trust this company.

Highly recommend this tour for anyone heading to San Diego Looking for a good time and some whales and dolphins. Captain John was amazing as was the entire crew. We saw two blue whales, a huge pod of common dolphins (hundreds of them surrounded our boat) and another type of whale. Highly recommend and will completely do again when we return to the area.

Took the 12:30 trip. At first, I was a little concerned because sooo many people were in line to get on the boat, I thought it might be really crowded - it was full but not overly crowded. We got to sit in shade on the way out, which was important to me. Once out 3+ miles we saw 100’s of dolphins and 5 whales (4 blue and 1 fin) including a mom and baby blue whale. So they really did a great job of finding the whales and describing what we were seeing.

We had a great time! We saw several whales and lots of dolphins. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly. Nice to be able to bring snacks on board as well.

Tremendous experience for both the adults and the children in our party. We spotted three blue whales and one fin whale, along with hundreds of dolphins as we went eight miles out in the Pacific. The excitement among all the passengers only enhanced our own. The crew were outstanding and attentive, helping us spot the whales and explaining their habits. They got superb photographs, which were made available at an additional charge. The skipper seemed very skilled at getting within viewing distance but not too close to be threatening. Wholeheartedly endorse this experience.

The tour was very nice! The staff were attentive and always available. The boat was clean and comfortable. We saw whales and dolphins and had a great time.

Informative naturalist guided tour with friendly staff. Unfortunately didn’t see whales but 2 amazing pods of dolphins with hundreds swimming and jumping along our boat!

Overall a very good trip for the price paid and really worth it. Were able to see the blue whales and dolphins on the trip. The waves were very calm and it was a perfect ride. But the boat is not a very big one and if the waves are rough on any particular day, it may turn out to be a rough ride.
