Elijah Mountain Gem Mine and Goat Farm

We came through Hendersonville with our Aunt from Maryland as a "guest"and later went crystal mining. The Crystals we unearthed from a bucket provided turned out to be surprisingly unique and somewhat refined with a flat side or three. We had a great time browsing the native american headdresses and dream catchers. The setup was quite different from our last visit months before the guest and spent some time with the goats, and we even saw a domething like a work/beading station station. Overall was a great passtime and grounding experience!

I've been coming here for the last 10 years to buy crystals, jewelry, and Sage Smudge Sticks, so today I went looking to buy some polished stones to charge the water in my Britta Pitcher. Wow! The people working there were all so helpful, knowledgeable about what I was looking for, and they've expanded and organized their product line to make browsing a joy, without being overwhelming. After I shopped, I went outside to commune with the friendly chickens roaming around, the goats, and the Peacocks and other colorful birds who live in the Aviary. They have also now partnered with Guidon Brewery, and provided seating inside and out for people who want to enjoy a beer while the family wanders around, and I hear they plan to eventually have bands come to entertain. What was once just a fun place to shop for cool stuff has truly become a "Destination," for both tourists and locals alike!

Gem mining was a great family adventure. Our teens loved it so much and didn’t want to stop. The staff made it exciting by sharing with us details about our stones. Showing my son rubies with a black light and cracking open geodes for them was truly special. Great gifts and shopping too!

Group of 13 children (grades 1-5) and 5 adults in Hendersonville for snow tubing, which was cancelled due to warm weather. We took a group to Elijah Mtn Gem Mine two years ago, so we decided to take this group. The children and adults had so much fun mining for gems, and everyone left with a bag full of finds. Several in our group found geodes, which the employees cracked open for them. The looks on their faces was priceless. The employees are fantastic - explained to everyone what to do and what to look for. Very patiently identified finds that we could not identify from the chart provided. When we left, the children asked if we could come back next year! Kyle (young man who worked there) is extremely knowledgeable, and so patient with the children and their many questions. This was not only fun, but educational as well. We had 2 teachers in the group, and they enjoyed the activity as much as the children, and left with many specimens to show the children in their classrooms. This was money well spent. They also have a nice shop area with items priced to fit every budget. There is also a warm cozy fire that everyone enjoyed. I recommend purchasing the Big Honkin Tub for a large group. That tub entertained our group for over an hour.

I was trying to do something different for Valentines Day so I surprised my wife with a short day trip to Elijah Mountain Gem Mine. My wife absolutely LOVED IT!!! I bought the Big Honkin Bucket for the both of us and sifted thru sand for and found a lot of emeralds, Ruby’s, geodes and other crystals and gems. The staff was very friendly. Anastasia was extremely helpful and Heather the manager was very helpful and knowledgeable. They had a ton of Crystals that you could purchase and the prices were very good. Elijah Mountain Gem Mines is definitely a must visit if you are anywhere near Henderson, North Carolina.

Joe was courteous, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We could not have had a better costumer service experience. We bought some things that were fragile, and he took care to wrap them well for safe travel. Also, we bought the “Green Giant” bucket (5-gallon), and it was worth it, and the perfect size for us, a family of three. We took home 4 bags of rocks, and even a large geode which Joe cracked open, revealing sparkling white quartz. This is a great place to visit, and deserves every 5-star review it gets!

Such a fun experience! We’ve never seen anything like it! I paid $25 for each of my kids to “mine” their bucket of sand since I was unsure of how many gems we’d get in each. They both got two baggies full! They were so excited. Fun shop to look around and buy gifts too. Staff went above and beyond to ensure my kids had a great time!

This was great fun !! Looking forward to going back. Everyone was friendly, fun and made our first time experience great fun. We loved getting to pet the goats and wander around the store.

We highly recommend Elijah mountain gem mine, not just for families but couples as well.

Great place to spend a few hours with children. Besides gem mining, there are natural areas to play in and animals to observe. The gift shop has a wide range of fairly priced souvenir items for all budgets.
