Award Winning Gin Distillery, Tasting Experience and Shop located just outside of Aviemore, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
Show more...We came across this lovely little gin distillery whilst researching things to do in Aviemore. What a find! We were the only two customers on an 11am gin tasting experience but what an experience we had. It was lovely learning all about the origins of the distillery and exploring a good number of their gins. Our host was friendly and engaging and supplied the driver with a coffee and shortbread and a free sample to take away. The gins were fab and bottles stunning, It was hard to choose which one to buy but we eventually decided on the artists edition "ginny" coo gin, an appropriate souvenier from this lovely part of Scotland. This little gin distillery deserves all the big accolades it gets.
Show more...This is an amazing place that any gin lover should visit. We were a group of 8 who were made to feel so welcome by the lovely Caroline, even welcoming our 2 pups as well. She explained about the gins in such detail while we tasted each one (hibiscus and rose being my fave) I would recommend to anyone and will certainly be ordering direct for Xmas.thanks again for a great morning
Show more...Caroline in brilliant! She is knowledgeable, funny and extremely warm and welcoming. We don't generally do any tastings when out on a family holiday due to the dogs and my 10yo. But kinrara is very much a welcoming, family inclusive, enjoyable tasting session. My daughter felt included they spoke to her alot and offered her drink and snack while there. The wee room for the sessions are lovely, cosy and warm the shop is a perfect size and you do not feel pressured at all to make a purchase (although we did both times 🤣) We had a brilliant time, in fact it's such a laugh we went at the end of may 23 and came back in June and definitely will be back when we are next up.
I would highly recommend!
Sophie and Lorna's knowledge about the gins was excellent.
They tailored the gins we sampled, to what gins we would usually drink e.g. sweet / fruity, and also let us try different mixers with them from what we would usually have, to what they said would go better which it did!
You don't get a tour of the distillery itself, due to health and safety reasons and that it would take 2 mins, as it'so small, haha, but they do show you pictures of the distillery, which is good.
Perhaps for future presentations though, the pictures could be shown on the TV, so it's a bit bigger / easier to see?
I would highly recommend a visit here, and as ideally anyone visiting to book a taxi to/ from the distillery, so everyone can enjoy the experience.
I will certainly be back again, the next time I stay in the area.
We attended as a family of 4 and 2 dogs (10weeks and 22months) for the Gin Tasting experience. We were all met with a very warm welcome by Caroline and Trisha. Caroline took us through the tastings, lots of information about the gins and the micro brewery but also lots of laughs along the way. So friendly and personable.
Lovely items available in the shop.
A great start to a long weekend for 21st celebrations, highly recommended.
I work in the gin industry and I was up visiting Aviemore on holiday and discovered Kinrara whilst I was up. It was such a lovely and interesting experience with lots of incredible gins and a welcoming and friendly staff. If you ever want a day out in a lovey spot with beautiful scenery and a warm and friendly atmosphere I highly recommend Kinrara distillery.
Show more...We visited the distillery today - what a fantastic experience! The tasting was brilliant value for money and the tasting room was modern and cosy. Caroline was a wonderful host! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area 😋
Show more...I had an exceptional time at the Kinrara gin tasting experience. The variety of flavors they offered was truly impressive, and the knowledgeable staff made the experience even more enjoyable by sharing insights into the distillation process and botanical choices. The picturesque setting added to the overall ambiance, making it a memorable and delightful outing. I highly recommend it to both gin enthusiasts and those looking to explore the world of craft spirits.
Show more...Wow! Booked this on a whim on our driving tour of Scotland. So glad we did- brilliant way to spend a couple of hours learning about the different gins. Friendly and informative. As the driver, I got to take away a miniature and tonic but husband got to sample 4 different gins with different tonics.A bargain at £10 each. Couldn’t resist bringing a bottle home!

We received a wonderful gin tasting on October 22nd, 2023 and really enjoyed the morning.
Show more...Trish took care of our group of whiskey drinkers and explained everything very clearly. The explanation of the production process and the tasting itself were characterized by a very friendly and warm atmosphere. The clear explanation of the ingredients, how to serve the drink with tonic, water or even frozen fruits and the comparison of the different types, all of this made our first gin experience perfect.
This made us feel very comfortable and in good hands.
5 small bottles of gin found their way straight into our luggage.
