Tour Du Jour

We took the 3hr overview tour which focused on the Santa Monica, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc areas. What an outstanding experience. Our guide, Mitch, was very knowledgeable about the area and offered great information and conversation that went far beyond a typical tour pointing out sites and repeating canned facts. He even made adjustments on the fly to incorporate things we were interested in and omit things we weren’t interested in. Pickup was on-time and the vehicle was spotless despite us making a last minute, day before reservation. We had been considering a group tour but we’re so happy that we went with a private tour for a little higher cost. Our guide even had a great dinner recommendation that we took after the tour. Outstanding. If we are in LA again we will definitely look at a different tour with Tour Du Jour.

Tour du Jour is not for everyone. It’s pricey at $175/hour. But it’s also private. You get to go where you want to go and stay as long as you desire. If you have limited time in LA and want to see specific things, that’s priceless!

Our guide, David, met us in the lobby of our hotel and led us to his luxury SUV. Then he asked us what specific things we wanted to see. We told him, he offered a few suggestions and off we went on a 2 1/2 hour tour. We wanted to skip the Hollywood Sign, Stars on the sidewalk and many of the other standards, as we visited those on previous trips.

David took us off the beaten path, showing us places not usually covered on standard tours. The La Brea Tar Pits, Nakatomi Plaza from the Die Hard movie, the cemetery of the stars. At each location he offered fascinating stories and often times digital photos to enhance our experience.

We learned a lot about the history of LA and trivia about many of our favorite stars.

Tour du Jour may sound expensive, but I found it a great value for our family.

Mark Heinrichs, is a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. He arrived on time and his car was immaculate. In 4 hours he was able to show me all the hotspots in Beverly Hills and Hollywood.

He is extremely well-versed with LA and comes always prepared. I liked his friendly and intellectual demeanour.

He went above and beyond my expectations.

Mark at Tour du Jour was FANTASTIC. I highly recommend him and this company! The vehicle was clean, he was extremely knowledgeable, and the service was just superb. Bottles of water were provided as well. Very friendly attitude. Just top-notch all the way around.

We had a great time, our Tour Guide David was knowledgeable, fun, friendly, top rate bad jokes. He is so knowledgeable about this city and everyone in it. REQUEST DAVID! We saw so many must see places and a few I didn’t even know existed! We had a great opportunity to take some pictures up at the Hollywood sign and those turned out great! One nice thing was that they recommended an amazing drop off and pick up place called The Original Farmers Market, which was awesome! We arrived there a few hours early and had many delicious snacks and drinks. As we’re not from around here it was nice to have some extra recommendations. Highly recommend this guide! We’ll use them when we come back next time for sure!

We booked the LA Short story tour and Ben was our guide. We had a great afternoon touring around Beverly Hills, Rodeo drive, the hall of fame, etc Ben completely customized the celebrity houses tour according to our teens favorite celebrities.
He gave us many interesting information and insights.

We were promptly greeted by our guide, Jim Humay, at the airport. From the moment we got in the car, he began sharing fun, educational facts about everything we could see. The touring began while we were still on airport grounds as Jim began telling the history of area, the geography and feeling us out for OUR interests.

LA is a big city, a slight understatement, and our desire was to see as much as possible in a couple of days. He is extremely knowlegable of everything that is LA.

After telling us what the local hot spots were, he assisted us with dining reservations at those local hot spots. We were able to participate in a live "Extra" show in the Grove, stood in as extras in a commercial, saw every star's house of whom we could think, and much more.

In fact, he was so much fun, we felt as though he was part of our group. It takes a unique personality to be able to handle tourist demands and quirks. He did a great job. He is worth the money we spent. Without him, we would still be trying to exit the airport grounds in our rental car.

We recently had a chance to make our first-ever visit to LA. As a group of tour couples, we were looking for a brief overview of the highlights of the area and this tour did not disappoint. In 4 hours, we saw the Sunset Strip, visited the Walk of Fame, toured area around the Dolby theater (and learned the tricks of how the Oscars transform the area), had great views of the Hollywood sign, got an awesome tour of Beverly Hills and "saw" many stars homes (saw in quotes given many are under high security and behind trees and fences). It was a whirlwind, but didn't feel rushed and Mitch made the time a pure pleasure while infusing a ton of information and fun facts along the way. We couldn't stop singing Mitch's praises from his warm demeanor, great sense of humor and just fun approach to the whole visit. Would highly recommend for others looking for a brief and fun tour of the area.

We had the beat time on our tour with Jim. Aside from his incredible knowledge of the city, stars homes and landmarks, he had us laughing and wanting more.

Fantastic tour and so worth the money. Tour Du Jour is a definite repeat the next time we are in LA.
