The warm hospitality and the kindness shared on property was palpable and felt through every experience. I actually shed a few tears when it was time to leave as I have NEVER been so moved and emotionally connected to a place like I was with Post Ranch. It’s so easy to see why Post Ranch is ranked as the #1 Hotel in the World as it’s also now my #1 favorite hotel in the WORLD. I fell in LOVE with the organic design and how the sustainability storytelling is delicately woven throughout every experience. We were so lucky to have the most perfect weather and had the most beautiful Ocean suite I could ever imagined and the outdoor soaking tub made all of the difference. My experience there was very spiritual there as I felt so deeply connected to the nature, the trees, the ocean and the sky — I have never seen so many stars in the sky in my entire LIFE. It was though the heavens had reached down to give us a hug and a pat on the back as we were overwhelmed by the sense of gratitude we felt for you and the experience shared. The sustainability experience and model was life-changing to witness as it reflects such a solid foundation that all developers, hoteliers, and travelers should value and consider; it represents such a valuable model for a sustainable future. We loved the thoughtfully, local-sourced and sustainable amenities shared in the mini-bar and appreciated how they were all plant-based! It was incredible to learn how all of your water is sourced and treated on property and I adored the glass water bottles in room. It made me so happy to see how you are motivating giving back - and keeping it front and center - through the community fund/QR code that is highly visible for every guest. I also had the most comfortable sleep of my entire life! My favorite part of my sleep was waking up to the ocean through the glass wall placed next to the bed. I truly felt “immersed” in nature rather than just being an observer. I am now trying to sort through how I can adopt more of the design for my own home! The sod roofs and shapes of the organic design to mimic the shapes of the redwoods were also stunning. Ken led the sustainability tour and he was excellent! He was so informative and shared more about the history, design and taught us a few things about the redwoods we did not know. It was intriguing to learn more about the intricate communications systems of the redwoods and how their “babies” sprout next to the original redwood and often form the same root base and how some of them will grow a “fairy ring.” I was fulling soaking up the ancient energy of these special beings who are amongst the oldest and tallest species on Earth, which is magical in its own right. Sierra Del Mar was incredible and loved how you have a dedicated plant-based menu. It was so thoughtful and creatively curated as well! The spa experience was also splendid - particularly loved how my massage literally took place “underneath” a redwood forest - OMG. The therapist was one of the best ever as well. The Chef’s Garden, art gallery, and mercantile were also so well curated and excellent. We also enjoyed the hiking in property and the opportunity to experience such beautiful wildlife - wild turkeys, quail, deer, blue birds - oh my! I cannot wait to come back and am now a lifelong fan of Post Ranch!

I don't typically leave reviews but I felt compelled to after our stay. Post Ranch Inn is gorgeous, truly one of a kind with breathtaking views, architecture, food, service and amenities. No wonder this hotel won best hotel in the World! The staff is absolutely world class, so helpful and attentive. Sergio was one of our favorites! Can't wait to come back. Thank you Post Ranch Inn!

Very charming Resort and you can disconnect and live without any disturbing or noise. Animals around forest is lovely environment restaurant services and food is awsom I visited in sept 2019 but it seems it was in draft and couldn’t change date

Post Ranch is the quietest hotel I have ever stayed. The sky was so clear that we could see the stars twinkle. The amenities of the room and the friendliness of the staff complement the natural beauty of the setting. We had an exceptional, memorable stay.

Post Ranch delivers one of the most magical experiences to their guests. My stay was truly replenishing, exactly what I needed. Proximity to nature and views of the ocean bring a sense of calmness to the mind and body. I can't wait for my next visit!

The most fantastic place ever! The rooms are stunning. The surroundings are stunning. The staff are the friendliest, courteous and attending folks I ever encountered and let me tell you my wife and I have traveled the world. If you're looking for the most enchanting, spectacular place to visit, this is it!

We went for our babymoon and had the most relaxing enjoyable stay! The service and staff were very kind and attentive. The pregnancy massage was perfect and I was able to lay on my stomach with their pregnancy massage pillow! Dinner at Sierra Mar was delicious and they were able to substitute delicious alternatives for the foods I was avoiding pregnant. Such a memorable few days! Can't wait to go back!

The best thing about this place is the view. It is incredible! The actual accommodations are not luxurious. We stayed in a tree house that was $2500 a night including all of the fees. For that price, the place needs to be ultra luxurious. We have paid that for other places so I was not upset about the price. The dinner was incredible with a price tag of $411 including gratuity and one drink. The service was pretty good. There is not much to the place. There is one hiking trail and a basic spa. The library had only old books and nothing current. The trails along hwy 1 were great. We hiked most of them including the purple beach. Had a nice time in Big Sur but I would not stay at Post Ranch just based upon the price.

I don’t even know where to start. This place was amazing from start to finish with amazing service and amazing views. The room was magical. It was my girlfriend’s first time up north and we ended the trip here. Tim and his staff are top tier and we could not be more thankful! Highly recommend !

I’ve lived in Carmel now for 13 years and it’s always been a dream of mine to stay at the Post Ranch Inn. My 75th birthday seemed the opportune time to indulge that dream. I was nervous after all the years of anticipation that I might be disappointed. But from the moment my family and I set foot into the reception area, we knew it would be better than anything we’d imagined. From the warm welcome we received there to the vision that was our room with a stunning view overlooking the ocean, my family and I had a truly phenomenal and relaxing two days. Lovely champagne and a welcoming card awaited in honor of my birthday. The heated floors in the bathroom, a fully stocked refrigerator with healthy snacks and beverages, cozy warm robes and fabulous sheets, turn down service that made the bedroom all the more inviting at night, a wonderful fireplace with wood ready by it’s side, were some of the many standout things we loved. Each and every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly and accomodating. The infinity pools, proved to be magical and calming refuges, morning and night under the star filled sky. The expansive trails available to walk at your leisure were also highlights, and justified our appetites for the delicious breakfasts offered with options beyond your imagination, including fresh orange juice, perfectly made lattes and a variety of egg dishes. My daughter had to almost drag me away when it was time to leave. While checking out, it was a treat to get to meet the general manager, Tim, who provided us an easeful transition from paradise back to the real world. If you are looking for the perfect, quiet, relaxing getaway, don’t wait 13 years. Ditch your cell phone, leave your troubles behind and make your way to the Post Ranch Inn. It’s a vacation you’ll never forget. I will definitely not wait another decade to return!
