Yawn. From go to wow. Very disappointing. From the MC through to the last comic. Was going to leave after the first one but was persuaded to stay. Second (wont call her a comic) was painfully unfunny. 3rd was also not funny. The highlight of the night, the last also not funny. The MC had an almost private conversation with a woman over a couple who had left. Only the surrounding 6 people could hear while the rest of the room were in the dark as to what she was saying. Waste of a night. As new to Glasgow im still waiting to locate the comic central of Glasgow. 2 down and still no laughs .
Show more...Decided to go here for my friends 40th birthday . we turned up and the place was so busy we couldn’t get a seat . the place was jam packed and was hardly any room to move . we ended up all huddled together at the bar. the show started and as we were enjoying the first comedian and laughing we were told off by the bar staff for being too loud which i find strange . (are we not supposed to laugh???). again after the first comedian had finished his set we were told to leave the venue as they said we had been too loud through the show . very disappointing experience which ruined my friends birthday . maybe they shouldn’t sell so many tickets if they dont have the space to accommodate so many people . I won’t be back
Show more...We have been to The Stand twice now, but our recent visit was our first time back after covid. Felt like we were packed in like sardines. We booked in advance but it looked like they had over sold as there was not enough seats for everyone and we were sat on stools at the back of the room and I felt like I was practically sitting on the knee of the random guy sat beside me. I had to resort to standing at the end of the night as it was so uncomfortable. Comedy acts were great but the night was let down with the overcrowding.
Show more...Another excellent evening watching Frankie Boyle. I got a courtesy email from The Stand asking if I required reserved seating, due to having mobility issues. This was a wonderful gesture ,and someone was waiting at the door, to show the available seating, and fast tracked to the head of the queue. The bar prices were excellent ,especially considering they have a "captive" audience. Keep up the good work!
Show more...We semi-regularly visit the Stand and we always have a good night. Tonight was a gut. Mick McCabe was a standout and the headliner Susie McCabe was a barrel of laughs. Staff were great. Look forward to our next visit.
Show more...A group of 8 of us went for a Christmas night out. Booked tickets in advance & arrived an hour before the show started, but there were no seats & no space to stand. Can’t understand selling tickets but no seats/space?! Comedians were ok - not great, not awful, just ok. Bar queue was huge & 8 of us squeezed into a corner with 2 barstools between us meant we left half way through. Wouldn’t go back, v disappointing.
Show more...Saw 4 acts for tenner, all pretty good. Pint is just under 4 pounds. A small venue, so check the acts and book in advance to ensure you can get in. Nearly impossible to get tickets for really big acts. Close to Kelvinbridge underground. Shish Mahal nearby, also a range of pubs and food.
Show more...Great night. Great comedy, great atmosphere. Drinks reasonably priced. Get there early or reserved a table if you want a good seat. That said, it’s a small venue to you will enjoy wherever you sit / stand.
Show more...They don't have tickets for sale at the door on a Tuesday night. We're In Glasgow for a few nights only and thought we'd go to the red raw comedy night. But couldn't book beforehand for several reasons. But the website says they hold 100 tickets every night to sell at the door They don't! As we had no tickets, we had an early dinner and got there early, only about 10 people in front of us in the queue, so all good. We queued in the rain only to be told when we got to the door that there were no tickets available .. that's fine, if you can sell all the tickets in advance, well done But don't lie on the website and have people plan their night around getting there early. Very disappointed.

2 visits in a week and was disappointed with both compared to previous visits. The first was billed best of Scotland and it has 2 Scots and an Irish comedian, felt like half the place was reserved seating despite the Stnads famous policy of not reserving tables so didn’t enjoy the night. Then tried the Hogmanay special, comedians were brilliant but they oversold the evening with far too many standing and stupid queues at the bar with everyone only being served at one end only , Bit of a silly thing to do in such a small venue and have found it much better organised in the past
