Went for a walk along the promenade having parked on The Beach Road. No cafe open to sit indoors; two lovely ladies served us a hot drink from a little hut and had to drink it outside as no shelter from the weather. I realised everywhere may be shut as only early March but hardly visitor friendly and to add insult to injury, had to pay 40p to spend a penny. On the Northumberland coast, toilets are free!!! We hate being amongst the many people during half term and summer holidays so always visit places out of high season as where many people we met throughout our 3 days travels. We won’t be back as the place was ‘dead’ of atmosphere. What a shame as we believe in spending money at home and not abroad.

Filey has a beautiful bay and lovely sandy beach. It has a quaint town and picturesque tree lined paths to the beach. That's where the good bits end. You are best off taking your own food as everywhere shuts at 3.00 or whenever they decide they've had enough of tourists which by the manners of most staff is about 10 minutes after they open. The coble bar and bistro refuse to take a booking for 5 at 7.30 on a Friday night because that's too late, even though the sign says they take orders until 8.30. Thr Bay fish snd chip shop and cafe shuts at 3.00 just when the tide is coming in and people are leaving tbe beach looking fir food and drinks. They don't really care. Its unfriendly and unwelcoming and I can only surmise that they made a fortune early in the season and just wat all the hated tourists to sod off and just send the money instead.

Wanted a dog friendly beach where we could walk our two dogs. We parked at west avenue car park near the pitch and put and walked down to the beach. Dogs are welcome on the beach from as you hit the royal paradeand then turn right. It’s all well sign posted so shouldn’t be any confusion. The beach seems to go on for miles with plenty of sand rather than being a rocky beach. The more you walk away from the royal parade towards flamborough the quieter it seems to get. All I would say is make sure you check high and low tide times to help you time your visit. Free toilets can be found at the royal parade and there’s a cafe and ice cream shop also. Spent around three hours here and had a great walk. Lovely beach and highly recommend.

Parked in west ave car park which is fairly big and walked down the slope to the beach. Once at the bottom of the slope it’s signposted dogs only to the right and no dogs allowed to the left. As you get onto the beach it’s always really busy, but as you walk along away form the slope, it soon gets nice a quiet. Great stretch of sand to wallk the dogs on just make sure you check the tide times as I’m guessing at high tide there isn’t much beach to walk on. Dogs always love it when we come here and recommend coming here to walk your dogs or just to chill with the family.

It’s a lovely circular walk from the countryside car park, along the beach, up through the woods and then through the town past the church. We had fish and chips at the cafe at the far end and they were delicious. I’m glad that we are early as walking back through the town there were several queues at places to eat. This is one of my favourite places to visit.

A great place if you want your beach minus the funfair element ! Filey still has an old world charm, there are lots of steps and hills if you want to walk but parking on the promenade is possible and allows walking in the flat. The majestic Victorian crescent looks out across the wonderful gardens to the sea and the Glade Gardens are lovely and worth a visit, the local Council does a great job of looking after all the gardens. We find the weather The east coast isn’t often drier and there are often fabulous sunsets and if there’s a clear sky then the bay becomes moonlit, so worth a visit

Came here recently with my family and had a fantastic time!

Filey is more relaxed than some of the other beaches I have been to in the past and it has a more simple feel to it but personally I believe this is part of its charm!

The seafront can be accessed via steps or a steep slope so it’s not brilliant if you have mobility issues but if you don’t it’s definitely a great place to go!

There are plenty of places to grab an ice cream, fish and chips, donuts etc on the seafront and it’s pretty reasonable in price for a seafront. There is also some little shops and amusements to keep the family entertained.

A huge plus is the outdoor paddling pool! Great for those sunny days and it is free too!

Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a more relaxed seaside feel!

What an amazing beach. In a half moon shaped bay this beach is great! You can hop on and hop off at various points. Choose to either walk on the beach or on coastal paths. You can stop off for some coffee and chips at Filey.

We all know that you put your watch back 50 years when we go to Filey - and love it for that. However it is also the place that time forgot. Very few places show their opening hours and consequently must lose a lot of custom - do they not want customers? So many shops and restaurants were closed but had no sign showing when they would be open, so we didn't return. The excellent fish merchant might be permanently closed for all we could tell, the Brigg cafe tightly shuttered, the ancient church doesn't even tell you when there is a service, least of all when you might visit. There is no longer a tourist office, so no-one to ask.
