My wife and I came here to get away for a week and we found out there is no one to check you in after 5 pm. After accessing their drop box to get a key to the unit we found that they don’t give out a key card to use the pool or hot tub until the following day. No amenities like shampoo, coffee, laundry soap available nor a vending machine to buy. LaCosta J unit is run down to be nice! The floor sinks in spots, the master bed has a broken box spring, tile is missing in bathroom, a cord running through bedroom into closet with a dehumidifier running with the carpet pulled back and a hole drilled draining water through it from the dehumidifier. The couch appears to be taken from someone’s giveaway pile by a trash can . The area and location is 5 star and I have stayed in better barracks in the military. If you want to use the fireplace you must buy the logs, no wood allowed as the chimney apparently is not cleaned. The only nice area we saw was the men and womens bathrooms by the indoor hot tub at the office pool area. The indoor hot tub is a standing hot tub that needed to be replaced 5 years ago. We are leaving early and hope if you book this place to not stay in this unit unless they redo it and show you pictures of their work

We were put in a unit that smelled like sewage, had water stains half way up every wall, and wet carpet in the bedroom. When I called the office they sent a guy with air freshener. I asked for another room and had to wait until the next day. It took us half a day to move. This one smelled, was dirty, and very dated. We used the hot tub one day. It was full of kids even though the sign said "must be accompanied by an adult." No one checking. Got a huge rash from the hot tub. They said they'd send a guy to check the water and then laughed. Never again will I go here. It was terrible!

The units were dated however very clean. When I booked the reservation I was only told about a $100 security deposit. A month later I was informed that I would have to pay a $130 cleaning fee for my unit because it was a stay that was less than a week. This was a fee that I could not get out of paying and in my opinion should have been disclosed when I made the reservation. RCI said this was due to the Time Shares of Sky Valley and the Time Shares of Sky Valley said this was due to RCI. I will never stay at this resort again due to this bad business practice.

The location near Dillard is great but the unit itself is very outdated. Very old and worn carpet and furniture. For a two bedroom that sleeps 8, the living area is very small with seating for four people only. The kitchen is full kitchen but only one person can fit in it at a time. The stairs going down to bedroom is extremely steep. No view except trees from the unit.

Our family had a great time, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and just enjoying the Serenity and peace. The horseback riding is offsite maybe a 15 minute drive from the cabin, well worth it, also the Trout Pond guarantees everyone will catch something-my grandkids enjoyed the horses and fishing. It’s little cool a night so pack a jacket. Great experience for the entire family.

I knew before the vacation that the unit would be dated. We were assigned tangle wood A, this was an end unit so it had extra windows on the side of the living room. That was nice because it let in more light. The unit was draftybecause of the older windows and we could never keep the unit warm enough downstairs without making the loft area so hot that it was unbearable to be in. I was disappointed of the view from our unitI thought it was have a view of the mountains but the tangle wood units did not have a view at all. Everything in the unit worked well. I think if the resort would update the living room furniture, get newer bedspreads, paint the patio furniture, so you could not see the rust and update the deck and stairs it would help a lot in the units appearance. We enjoyed having a fireplace and bought the started logs at the local grocery store to have a fire each night. The fitness center is nice and we enjoyed using the hot tub. Every night taps would play and the local coyotes would howl along with it. This was nice to hear. The chapel bell rang every 30 minutes but we really did not notice it. We went to the area to hike and zip line and we enjoyed the many hiking trails in the area, the resort eve had a pamphlet of trails near by. The area is beautiful so that was perfect for us.

This resort has some units with a few steps and others with many steps. I am in a wheelchair and can walk a few steps only if necessary. We called the resort many times to insure we were in a unit with only 2-3 steps. We have been here many times before. This time we were informed that all the owners had already booked their units for the week we had booked. We were given the unit with many many stairs. They stated they had nowhere else to move us to. We did not see one other car or person in the building we stayed in all week long. They give you a runaround when you call stating that RCI has not given room assignments yet and that they do not assign the units. When you call Rci, they state the resort assign the units. It is very disappointing that people with disabilities seem like they don't matter. Do not recommend this resort

Stayed in the Oakmont J One Bedroom Unit , Very Out Dated with older Furniture, Decor, Kitchen / Bathroom floor vinyl curling up . Inside doors need paint / replaced. Very musty smell . Older Refrigerator. No At& T cellphone service until you get back into Dillard. They do have in room phones to use , dial out no fees, WIFI is decent.
This is primarily a Golf Resort , if you don't play golf or play tennis, then check out the waterfalls close by .
It is very quite , and Chapel near by plays Chimes. Very nice.
Checked in after 5:00 , outside phone to call assistant, found our packet with map and key. No problem.
Just Outdated and musty smell , Yuck

The rooms were big even if outdated. They felt like a true cabin in the woods. Great wrap around deck in our cottage. The hot tub and sauna at the rec center were nice. Beautiful views. Pool probably be good in summer, had a good gym but we didn't use that. The area has a couple of good restaurants that are a must. Very relaxing atmosphere. Couple of hiccups with the lights going out one day and management was hard to reach. Overall if you want brand new, modern and hip not the place. If you want a feeling of grandma's cottage in the woods to relax by the fire, look at mountains and hit the golf course or go hiking for waterfalls you got the right spot.

The location of Sky Valley Resorts' location in Dillard, GA is excellent for what we were looking for. Very close to GA State Parks, waterfalls, hiking, NC Smoky Mountains, Highlands, etc. Also, some very nice restaurants close by: Sunday Dinner, Valley Cafe, The Hush Cuban Restaurant (image that, finding this place in Dillard!), etc. that said, the unit that we stayed in was in bad need of maintenance and repairs and furniture was dated and some damaged.
