Show more...Excellent room, food, staff and leisure facilities! Stayed at Thoresby Hall previously and its still a beautiful place to visit. Came with 5 friends, all ladies, and felt very safe & valued as a customer. The production show was disappointing and choreographically required a more professional input, but Lascel's show on 2nd night, plus resident band & singer we're excellent. Would recommend to anyone, and not just over 55s!
Show more...Generous car parking on site. I booked a room in the historic house which is great for the main facilities but some distance from the car park. The view across the park was lovely to wake up to every morning. Enjoyed a spa treatment from Kerry, took in the free audio tour to learn more about the building and had fun outside with croquet, pitch and putt and disc golf. Being able to walk out into the wider parkland was a bonus and the nearby courtyard was very interesting, with brewery, glass blowing, crafts and a military museum. The food was delicious and the freshly made pancakes and omelettes cooked in front of you at breakfast was a treat. They coped with my dietary requirements well providing a generous portion of steamed vegetables every evening. The Entertainment team worked very hard all week and I enjoyed the inhouse band Zenekar. The lady in the holiday shop was very friendly and helpful when we booked for future breaks. Our room was large as was the bathroom. The only drawback was that there was no heater in the bathroom and the towel rail was too small. It couldn't cope with four towels handing off it. It could do with having a larger one or a another smaller one fitted. Our room was serviced daily by Verity who worked really hard but still had time to chat with us. Overall this was an excellent stay and good value for money.
Show more...Very nice stay with relaxing time, Food & drink was excellent & the entertainment was good. There was nice places to walk & meet other guest. Room was great with TV & shower & the pool, sauna & steam room was great & not crowded. All in all I will return back.
Show more...Beautiful grounds and house. We stayed in signature room which was spacious, very clean. The extras, given with a signature room were a nice touch. Must note that there maybe quite a walk to various facilities including restaurants. We had issues with extra payment for VIP which is table service in showroom. would definitely not recommend. Some drinks, which are on a list provided, not available.

Show more...This was my first ever visit to a Warner Hotel, so very much an experiment. Overall, I was pleased with the experience. I found the staff most welcoming and helpful, the general cleanliness of the hotel excellent, and the service first class. I was allocated a ground floor room with walk in shower, which is what I got (room 206). I enjoyed the breakfasts, but found the menu for dinner a little restricting with only one fresh meat choice each night. I enjoyed my visits to the spa - the swimming pool was a very pleasant 29C and the sauna and steam room very relaxing. I very much enjoyed the Archery and Rifle shooting activities. These were one of the main reasons for me choosing Thoresby Hall and they did not disappoint. The other attraction was the proximity of the Military Museum, which I visited and thoroughly enjoyed. I also appreciated the closeness of Clumber Park, (10 mins by car) and had a most enjoyable walk there. I did not choose a Warner Hotel for the evening entertainment - not my scene - so I enjoyed a coffee and nightcap in the Pavilion in relative peace!! I noticed that I think I was the only guest on my own in the whole hotel, but that did not bother me.
Show more...Spent a fortune to see the Phil Collins tribute and had to leave after 45 minutes as the sound was abysmal. Also, some of the staff (in particular the host at the restaurant when we arrived) should not be working with the public. We left a day early last time we were her but thought we would give it another chance after 4 years. Wish we didn’t bother. Added to all this we had no service on the phone all weekend in our room. Back to Potters for us now.
Show more...This was our first visit to Warner Hotels. We had a really good four day break. Our room was excellent though may have been a problem with anyone suffering with Asthma or any breathing ailment due to the painting going on in the corridor. We ate in the restaurant with table service and the food was really good as was the service. My one small disappointment was they did not have Port available to have with my Cheese at Desert and no Horseradish when I had the beef.We have been on several Cruises and found the experience at the hotel very similar,There was an excellent entertainment programme and the entertainment team were all really good to watch and listen to.We thought all the staff did their utmost to make your holiday the best it could be.We look forward to returning again soon.
Show more...Very disappointed with the new VIP experience spoiling the experience for other guests. One member of staff was only allowed to serve the VIP area....no other staff on hand in the entertainment room. The rest of us had to queue at the understaffed bar!!! It was obvious alot of people just didn't bother getting drinks as it was too time consuming getting up & down, squeezing past other guests while the entertainment was on then waiting at the bar.... In a venue that is a high ratio of elderly I can't understand why any management team would think that only the privileged few can be served while the rest of you can sort yourself out....I suppose it will wait until someone falls and spills their drinks everywhere before they revert back to sensible table service for all!!!!

Used website direction to find Thoresby. They were wrong, so we got lost! Not funny as we had no Sat Nav. or map to help us. Had to ask 3 strangers, went 24 miles out of our way and took almost an hour and a half to find it. Allocated room 110. No signage for it - staff surprised as no one had noticed! Booked a Standard room. They have 224 of those but only 2 with a view of a brick wall about 8ft away. Sorry, this is NOT a Standard room but still charged the same price. Have asked for a refund of some of the room cost, so far nothing. Very disappointed. Rain doesn’t affect outdoor activities apparently. Archery and riffle shooting went ahead and apparently most visitors are happy to stand in heavy rain to take part in the archery sessions, which are held in the open. (I wouldn’t have enjoyed getting soaking wet and blown about, but I was told many do) Several activities were not available - maybe they are closer to summer). I did go to the swimming pool - not impressed with the ladies changing area, but nothing wrong with the pool, sauna or steam rooms. Our waitress (Sandra) seems to love her job and it showed in her pleasant and helpful service. Only had one big problem with the evening entertainment in the ‘theatre’ - apart from the volume on the mikes seeming turn very (almost deafening) high, 99% of the performers ‘worked their socks off’. Personally the only performer who I felt should either change his act or not even be allowed to perform, was the ‘comedian’, Richard Le Vell. Holiday Camp humour from the last century wasn’t funny then, certain highly inappropriate now! Humour based on making jokes about wives, mother-in-laws, overweight people, ethnic jokes and bring a member out from the audience to make him seem foolish, is not my idea of a good comedian. Hoped he would get better, he didn’t and we walked out after 30 minutes. Shame on you Warner! We ate in the Market Kitchen. Personally I found the food very acceptable, no complaints at all. Some while ago (apparently) they stopped offering tea or coffee with the meal. Cold water is free, but you pay for everything else. The new ‘Coffee Nest’ did make me smile. I assume the ‘cozy space’ they call it, simply means ‘small’ which it was. It was not a separate space from the bar area, just a small counter next to it. One of my feedback comments whilst there concerned the bedside table lights. I needed a light above the bed to read by. Why have lamps on low bedside tables? Looks nice maybe but impractical. I don’t know about the other 222 Standard rooms, but ours had no plug sockets on the wall with the beds against it. There were a couple, but on the opposite wall. Why, I do not know but it did mean if you needed to plug in a CPAP machine or something else, although you could borrow extensions leads, the cables went right across the room! (Trip hazard for some people I am sure). Overall, would I return - probably if we get money (or a decent voucher) back for the below standard, ‘Standard’ room.
