Shocking reception on arrival, the four of us walked 20 mins to pub to be told they are full and could we come back in 1hr.. We sat in a bar opposite having a meal for 1hr watching lots of revellers leaving. We finished out meal and approached the venue for a second time, again doorman stating they were full and we could not enter. We asked if we could wait for four people to leave so us four could enter, doorman said he didn't know. What a waste of our time!!
Show more...Great atmosphere and even better better staff.
Starting from Stewart at the door the “gentle” giant 😅 who is just simply amazing.
Then there is Meg behind the bar who can organise the most difficult night with not just professionalism but also a smile on her face.
The whole staff is just on the top of the game and this way you can enjoy the proper Finnegans’s vibe.
Typical Irish pub but with a strange layout. All over the place..
at over £6 a pint, it is a clean rip off. The venue and proprietary cant be that interested in customers health what with serving alcohol and they are certainly not interested in their customers financial wellbeing whilst fleecing them with extortionate pricing.
Love this place. Here every weekend because of the atmosphere and the amazing staff. So many of them to name but Meg is always looking out for us. The door staff are incredible too, Stuart the main man always looking out for us and being there when needed. The live music is brilliant and whenever family or friends are visiting this is my first choice where to take them. If you are visiting or live here, this is the place to be!
Show more...My self and a few friends going to a gig at the liquid rooms a few doors down planned going to Fineggans wake for a few pre gig drinks, when we arrived at the door the doorman asked if we had a booking ! when we said no we didn’t realise you had to pre book to enter a pub he refused us entry this was 18.45 on Saturday we were a small group all in our early sixties! It was obvious we were not welcome there and just left and found another establishment where were made very welcome.
Show more...It was horrible, we are going to this bar on sunday night to monday, 26th to 27th of january, and I stumbled on the sidewalk, so the security guard don't let me in the pub, forbade me because he thought I was drunk.
We tried to talk to him, explain everything, we said of course I wasn't drunk, I had just drink a coke at dinner, I just stumbled A shame!!! He didn't want to listen us and was really rude!!!!
Amazing venue with excellent music we had a fantastic night here. The door staff Mark is the most friendliest doorman I have ever come across just a happy wee soul with the bleached blonde hair and stuart too funny guy he is. Bar staff are really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place one of the best bars in Edinburgh I will definitely bring my friends and family back here again
Show more...Brilliant live music, fairly priced drinks for Edinburgh. Stuart on the door is very friendly and always up for a good chat, other female bouncer with pink hair is very aggressive and rude, seemed to be kicking people out for no reason. Other than that it is always a good night out!
Show more...Terrible place and terrible workers. Saw that there was a big que outside and all of a sudden people where being chucked out. (For no reason) asked for the bar manager's name became I wanted to make a complaint and all of a sudden he was under no obligation to give me his name. Now if your a bar manger and someone is trying to complain, you would think he would do everything in his power to avoid it. Absolute sh*thole.

On 2 occasions myself and a group of 3 friends mixed of male and female, 2 of whom don't drink, tried unsuccessfully to gain entry into this bar. We have been told by the doorman that is a booking only establishment and you are not allowed to "walk-in". Would greatly appreciate if anyone could confirm this.
