Show more...I paid for an hours parking which cost £1.50 and took my dog for a walk. When I got back to the car park I decided to have a coffee with a friend at the teashop as we had 30 mins left on the ticket. Unfortunately (due to chatting!) we overran the time by 12 minutes and came out to a parking ticket. Pay £25 in 14 days or £50 after that. You can only appeal by email which I did. I explained that there was no intention not to pay and that I was only sitting 1 minute from my car so the warden could have called me. I also explained that there were very few cars in the car park and therefore I wasn't taking a space that someone else needed. I did hope that sense would prevail but unfortunately not. I very quickly received a letter telling me that my appeal had been rejected. I usually go to Kinver Edge where the parking is free so you don't have to worry about getting back or chatting too long and I certainly will be going there in future. In my walk I didn't see anything that wonderful about Baggeridge so unless I can park on the road I won't be returning. Shame on Stafford Council that they wasted tax payers money by replying by letter rather than email!
Show more...Me and my partner visited here yesterday 21st April it was a lovely walk for about the first hour or so round the lakes whilst having an ice cream for the kiosk at the start but then for some reason all the signs stop directing you where your heading for! but as people were still coming towards us we carried on anyway, we ended up right down the bottom end of the park looking like when we went up to a gate way that could of been leaving the site so we decided to turn around and head back the way we came but because there was no signage around we got completely lost! After almost another hour and a half we ended up on a farm track heading towards a farmers house/yard so walked up there for nearly 20minutes when we saw a cyclist and asked him to our delight we pointed us in the right direction which got us back on to the main road into the park!
I think they need to invest in some more signage with the amount of people there it doesn't cost much to do!
Visited Baggeridge with family. Was VERY busy when we arrived at 11.30, and found it difficult getting parking. The play park was just as busy and found it difficult keeping track of my child, but was to be expected as it is school holidays. Not many picnic benches available by the time we ate, but plenty of grassy areas to sit down. There was a bouncy castle, trampolines and crazy golf set out for the kids, although was £2 for 10 minutes for each thing.
The area is beautiful, especially if you do the climb up to the top of the hill where you can see for miles. Took some bread for the ducks, but I think they must have been a bit 'bread' up as they weren't eating it!
Took all our own food and drinks so can't comment on the tea shop.
Down side was we got a penalty charge notice in the car park despite having paid for and displayed a valid ticket, so now have to go to the hassle of appealing to South Staffs Council. Car park prices also have been increased to £2.60 for all day.
As you will see from previous reviews, Baggeridge is beautiful but the car park situation is a real problem. I went recently on a warm day and it was extremely busy; the parking was an extortionate £2.50 for over 2 hours (easily done on a good walk) and there was only on functioning ticket machine so we had to queue for 15 minutes just to get our ticket. I was meeting family here as a halfway point and we therefore had to pay £5 between us which I found disgusting! Oh and the machine doesn't give change, so many people ended up having to pay £3 each.
I really resent having to pay so much to park at a place of beauty. It meant I decided not to have a tea/coffee there; free (or much cheaper) parking would have encouraged me to use the other services.
We normally meet at Cannock Chase and think we will continue to do so in future because parking there is free. The other option is Kinver Edge which another reviewer has also pointed out.
A great location to visit but the paths are terrible and unable for people with unsure footing. The money off the car parks needs to be put into painting the park
Show more...I always visit here, mainly because the kids love it and they never get bored. Parking is £3.00 for all day which I think is good value. There’s a cafe which sells food, crisps, toasties, jacket potatoes and ice creams.
There’s a play area for the kids, which has sand so the kids can play and build sandcastles. Train rides and it is great for walking and taking your dog. There’s a pool, with various wildlife, we fed the ducks and also take the nets to spot and cats have wildlife. You can easily spend all day here, there is a walk you can do which links you to himley hall grounds. You can always walk go himley pub have a drink and then walk back. There is plenty of parking, seating areas. A lovely cheap day out I think. It’s is suitable for disabled but there are areas which are not. Staff are friendly, you can purchase a few toys for kids and nets from the shop if you forget to take your own. I would take a blanket to sit on, football and other out door games to ensure you have the full benefit of being outdoors.
I visit Baggeridge park often as it is in my local area. The park is large and well kept. The cafe is a nice touch, and has been fine the odd occassions I've had an ice cream or drink from there. The parking can be a little pricey depending how long you're staying and the entrance to the park is quite narrow and bumpy for a car.

Such a beautiful park we have loved walking here most days through the pandemic. Very thankful for such beautiful scenery. We have done so many beautiful walks it’s memories we will hold close for long time to come. We loved seeing the baby ducklings over April/May time and the Heron is a wonderful sight to see :-)
