It's great to look at the way old cities were build. We spent time walking around, going into bath and climbing to amphitheatre. My kids even spent time perfoming on the stage. Though the beach is quite dirty and there is no that much infrastructure around so I wouldn't spent more than an hour.

Phaselis is an ancient city, so make your preparations according to this. There is a small market inside, toilets and shower available but average. There is no sunbeds or parasols but you can bring your things. Care about your sun protection and don't forget to get hydrated. You can also bring your foods. The entrance is not free but you can use Museum Pass if you have one. Go early as much as you can so you can find a good place. Enjoy with the ancient ruins, nature, beach and sun in one place!

Wow, this place had me daydreaming about what it used to look like. When you stand at the center of the city and look down the main street you can imagine that this was an ancient time resort with the who's who visiting for holidays. We went swimming here and took amazing pics. Go early and set up a spot for yourself. You drive into a park with good roads and then park very close to the water's edge. The toilet and shower facility is a no go zone. There is a small fast food place and shop for something to eat and drink. We took our own by couldn't resist ice cream due to the heat. We explored the ruins at a leisurely pace, there is a wooden stairway to the theater. The best swimming spot can be found on the right. so enter the ruins and walk the short distance down up the main street and have a dip in the little cove. Not too crowded and it was peak season. We drove to this spot from Antalya.

Nice place, nice view. not accessible with a wheelchair. beautiful beaches. There are 8 buses from the center of Kemer. The cost of travel is $ 1. if you pay in lire it will be cheaper. from the starting point of the bus you still have to walk about 20 minutes. to Phasel. back to Kemer can be returned by boat for $ 5.

It is thought that Phaselis was established as a port city in the 7th century BC. Phaselis has 3 harbours and was the busiest port city in the eastern part of Lycia for hundreds of years.
Phaselis was ruled over by a succession of invaders starting with the Persians. Alexander the Great was here for a month. It remained under pirate sovereignty until the Romans took charge. Phaselis became a bishopric Christian centre during the early Byzantine period, but was completely abandoned in the early 13th century.
In the car park, next to the sea, one is greeted by magnificent aqueducts. These were built in by Romans to bring water from Tahtalı Mountain and then distribute it within the city canals. The city center and the southern port ,which serves as the main port, are joined by a 25 meters wide street with smooth stones and a drainage system. Roman and Byzantine ruins lie on both sides of this street. The street is unusual in also doubling as the stadium.. The entrance of the South Harbour is inscribed and honours Roman emperor Hadrian’s visit to the city.
In addition, there are Lycian and Roman tombs, city walls, a theatre, 2 baths and other structures. All this in woodland next to beaches and clear blue seas.
Phaselis is signed from the D400 coast road where buses drop off. It is a short walk down to the site on a sealed surface road. Entrance fee was 220TL

Turkey and ancient cities yes! They belong to each other and are a must to explore.
Don’t stay only in your “all inclusive hotel” but explore this amazing world. I recommend to rent a car. The roads are 👍 and you can visit amazing place with the turtles on the beach.

Here we explored ancient Phaselis, from the resort town of Kemer. Here you can find amazing amphitheater with the great view of the sea.
Phaselis was a Greek and Roman city on the cost of ancient Lycia. The town was set up by the Rhodians in 700 BC.
This ancient city has so many stories to tell. Discover all of them. Place with blue lagoon, caves, turtles, ruins and amphitheate.

Historic ruins which were interesting to look around - although limited info. a nice amphitheater and aqueduct remains

The biggest draw is the the beaches and coves with pine forests just behind. A great place to picnic, bathe and snorkel

Free parking. 90TL per person entry if not local, quite a long queue sometimes to get through the payment booth.

Amazing archeological site in the sea, Hadrian’s gate. Very important port, the site is quite well preserved you can see a lot of stones, amphitheater, baths, main Roman street…
Entrance fee per person is 55 Turkish lira, about 5 euros.
Strongly recommended if you are in the area of Kemer Antalya. It’s about 1hour away from Antalya and 15 minutes from Kemer.

I liked this place. I think it would be even better in the hot weather, maybe a picnic, walk in the sea. Lovey views, interesting and fun walking around the ruins. Had a few snacks and drinks on offer. Think we paid 55L entry each, they accept card, everything clearly signed at entrance with plenty of easy parking.
