Went to BURSA from ISTANBUL by ferry..took GY1 from ferry dock to DEMERTASHPASHA STATION..walked to HEKAL area where i found out that the telefrik was out of order for maintenance..So i had to hire a taxi to ULUDAG NATIONAL PARK.. It was expensive but it was worth it.My visit was in december, so the park was nearly empty. The facilities are sufficient. The Scenes ARE SPECTACULAR. The people working there are nice and helpful.

The two-segment cable car ride to the park is enjoyable although minibus and private transport can be used. Waiting for the cable cars will likely total 1 - 2 hours.

The pine forest at the top is beautiful and easy to explore on foot. Excellent picnic facilities. Uncrowded during our mid-Autumn visit though I expect the situation is different in summer and winter when it is popular with locals as well as Turkish and international tourists for picnicing, camping, sightseeing and skiing.

The items for sale in and around the top cable car station are frequently expertly handcrafted, unusual and low priced. Very little bargaining as the price marked or mentioned is perhaps below what you expected.

No fee (I believe) to enter the park. About 15 lira per person for the cable car.

Simply we pass by this area and saw all things needed for ski. This is functional only in winter time. Still it is nice to see.
