I would rate my experience as Good not average & not very good. The track is really good & the Karts are easy to drive & get used to. However I felt the staff both on the track & at the Kiosks seriously lacked enthusiasm & fun. The guy who briefed us prior to setting off down the track was quite patronising & had a ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude. The girls in the kiosk when we were queuing to get info on where we had to go directed us to the other kiosk inside where we queued again only to be told that we needed to go back to the original kiosk we queued at. We arrived over half an hour before our slot but due to lack of signage and repeated miss communication we missed our slot which was 11.30am & were squeezed into the next slot. This was fine but I had purposely booked the earlier slot as it was quieter. We ended up in a packed army truck making our way up to the starter line. On the second run four more people were added to our truck from another group to “save time”. I seriously began to question the ‘Covid protocol’ at this stage.
Having had my minor rant I would recommend Quarry Karts but be aware f you go that it is the same place as the Velocity & there are no signs for the Quarry Karts. The correct kiosk apparently is the one outside. Also FYI you’ll need to walk 15mins to the container to get your gear before you take the Army Truck to the summit (this they don’t tell you when you book) if were to go again I’d arrive an hour beforehand just incase a load of confused people arrive at once (which is what happened to us)
Hopefully you’ll have a better experience.

I always like to try and do something a bit different for my birthday and this year I booked Velocty 2 to celebrate, following a recommendation by a friend. It was easy to book online, not particularly expensive and I felt that I was kept well informed of what to expect following my booking.

I was staying in the area as part of a longer touring holiday so I was able to turn up bright and relaxed and a little early, which worked in my favour as the team offered me a place in an earier slot than I had booked for. This was early March 2023 and despite the weather forecast being less than promising it turned out to be a cool but otherwise lovely, bright day.

And so, to the event

after a welcome and a safety briefing a shorter flight takes place, this is then followed by a ride in a truck, with some marvellous scenery en-route to 1,600 ft elevation (photo and video just doesn't do this justice) with time to soak in the scenery at the viewing platform and you are soon underway on Europe's fastest Zip Wire. What an amazing experience - the only downside being that it's over all to soon. However, it will sit in the memory for a long time.

Afterwards there's a cafe with a decent selection of food and drink served by friendly and helpful staff at sensible prices, which can be enjoyed from a terrace which allows another chanceto enjoy the scenery.

Finally, thanks to a very kind lady who offered to take my photos I have some marvellous pictures of the day that, as a solo traveller, I would not otherwise have had. Emily, if you are out there somewhere reading this and remember me, I would love to hear from you!

If you are thinking of doing Velocity 2 then don't hesitate!

Visited zipworld for my birthday, and it did not disappoint. We did the small and the biggest zipwire and it was a fantastic experience, the staff were very informative and helpful the ride up was bumpy but we were told to expect it, but it honestly wasn't that bad. When we did the big zip line, we were hanging around for about 5 minutes, ready in the harness to go but someone that was going at the same time as us did get scared and the staff handled it very professionally and calmed them down and reassured them that they would enjoy it, and when we eventually did go it was great fun and I would definitely recommend it. We were a little sore after hanging in the harness for so long, but it was worth it when we finally got going. We went to the cafe for food and I must say thw food was absolutely delicious and was not too expensive either, it was around £30 for two of us to have a drink each, a main each and a side each. My partner had the burger and loved it and I had the crispy beef salad, and I have to say it was to die for.

Over a week after booking and paying for Velocity Zip Line and Quarry Karts for 4 friends midweek in March they've decided to cancel and close for a couple of days! No real explanation was given. This despite 4 people taking 3 months to find suitable dates, booking time of work, time away from family (including respite care for my friends disabled son) booking and paying for accommodation. All they offered is an apology and chance to re book any time for same price! Very big of them! I suggest you book on weekends only as I'm sure they won't be closing during their most lucrative times. I've beeb supporting and using their various sites since day one but never again!

Bang average at best, feel mildly ripped off at paying £50 for the quarry karts.

Group of 11 of us were told we were starting at 11am, rather than the 10am arrival that was shown on the booking email. Staff weren’t too fussed about making us wait in the wet and cold and when they did finally speak to us, they put a huge dampener on the ‘fun’ experience before it even began! First thing we were told was ‘this is quite literally the most dangerous activity that zipworld offer’, then proceeded to scaremonger and tell us about all the accidents that had happened over the years. We were all left wondering when we’d actually get to have fun and this was before we’d even been given the safety briefing!

Camera only records your first run so you’re much more cautious than second time round, this makes for a pretty dull video (4 out of my 9 min video show the safety briefing). Track has 14 corners, only felt like I was actually going fast on approx. 3 of them. The straight is slow and requires a bit of a wiggle to get you moving fast enough for any excitement and I was constantly thinking of accidents from the initial talk so was hesitant to properly go for it in the corners.

Can’t say I’d recommend, had more of an adrenaline rush driving my car down the scenic country roads home…

I booked Velocity 2 experience for my husband and myself as an anniversary present. The website is easy to use, you get reminders and all the info needed for before your experience. It is easy to find in Bethedsa with plenty of car parking. It is well organised with a one way system in place. Mask wearing was a little bit hit and miss but otherwise covid precautions all in place. The staff were all friendly and professional. We hadn't realised there was a lower practice run first so that was a bonus. We were lucky and had a beautiful sunny and clear day to admire the views from up the top before we came down. We also ate in the Blondin restaurant onsite which was good value food with a varied menu and plenty of outside seating and a view over the quarry pool. All in all a fantastic experience of which our friends are jealous of! Highly recommend it :)

We booked on line for the Deep Mine Tour at Llechwedd and did all the necessary paperwork on line beforehand too. However we had to queue for over half an hour in the pouring rain (and it was really heavy rain) just to have the booking checked and to be given wrist bands. The indoor space at the check in desk was minimal, despite this being the area of north wales with the greatest annual rainfall! Our time at the check in desk was two minutes. We then had to run to get to the tour for our booked time, despite the fact we had arrived more than the requested half hour ahead. We were cold and wet before we started, which was not good. This could so easily have been avoided by having a separate check in desk for on line bookings. And you would think that more cover for check in queues would be available!

Me and my partner booked the Zip Line some months ago. At the time of the booking we were in two minds wether or not to book as we thought it was expensive. When we arrived we checked in and were offered an earlier slot than we had booked which helped with the nerves. The pre- safety stuff is handed over very well and we were assisted with the harness helmet and goggles etc. The first zip line was great but then you get in a truck and travel up the quarry for what seems like forever we were thinking how high is the zip wire!!. My nerves were shredded by the time we stepped into the waiting area. We were connected up to the lines by which time i was almost going chicken!! But the staff checked in with me telling me i would be fine. They count you down in Welsh 321 and lift off. It was absolutely awesome JUST WOW WOW WOW!!! The views and the feeling of flying through the air at 100 mph was awesome. It was a true life moment for us both and we will never forget it. In the end i think it was great value for money as the obvious levels of organisation and the professionalism of the staff is second to none.

I booked Velocity 2 for two people and was really excited by the prospect of zip lining over the quary.

On arrival the facilities are good but the booking in process is a bit slow, nothing to get excited about, it could just be more efficient.
Not one to moan for no reason I sucked it up but then we suffered a massive delay followed by a cancellation due to bad weather and machinery failure. Which is totally understandable even though it was a complete waste of a morning.

What followed in my opinion is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. The people in my group were told to get changed and then left to it. I emerged into the reception into total chaos. The staff were trying to book in new arrivals and nobody was dealing with refunds or giving out information on how to claim the funds back. There were people shouting and nobody really took charge of the situation.
It took 6 days to get my money back and they kept the £3.50 booking fee for wasting my time. Thanks.

It is when things go wrong you get a measure of a companyzipworld you massively failed and you should be ashamed.

Sadly, Mother Nature played a huge part in our experience. It was a wedding gift to us and we made a weekend of it visiting Manchester the day before. Prior to arriving we had a text to say our time slot was delayed by 40 minutes and not to arrive before this time. Heavens we were tourist so it’s not like we could nip home and kick back until our allotted time!! So anyway, we arrived and spent a fair bit of time in the cafe area which is lovely and although we didn’t eat, the food looked delicious. Our time eventually arrived, almost 55 minutes after original time - due to windy conditions. We got kitted up by the lovely staff who make you feel very safe and looked after, they’re true pro’s! We did the smaller zip with no issue at all and went on the bus to the top one. This is where it all went a bit sour. Of the 4 lines, only 2 were running causing a huge backlog of riders. The busses before ours were still waiting to ride, some 60+ people! Then they opened up 1 more of the wires, so 1,2 and 4 (3 was closed).. obviously this caused huge issues for those wanting to ride next to a friend or relative etc so lane 4 wasn’t really being used. After 2+ hours stood at the top, very thirsty, desperate for the loo and fed up to the core myself and my husband decided to opt for lane 4 just to “get it over with”. So we did exactly that, off we went, separately, with two strangers who knew each-other. I went first so waited for my husband to arrive at the bottom and that was that. We did pay £18 each for the video which wasn’t at all worth it. I didn’t look remotely excited but more desperate for the loo.
Did we enjoy? Yes.
Would we go again? No thanks.
The staff were amazing but Mother Nature can have a huge impact on a day. Our ride time of 12:40 was more like 15:45 and we chose to ride separate !!!
