We were on the tour for a Christmas present. The golden tickets included the brewery tour, six beers to sample in the bar and six bottles to take away. Barry our guide was knowledgeable and funny. A very enjoyable couple of hours.
Show more...I visited the Brewery with a small group of friends who are all expoerienced brewery visitiors. The tour guide was Gary, and we all agreed that we had never experienced such interesting and clear explanations of the workings of a brewery and the brewing process. Brewing is on the one hand a simple process, and on the other, the chemical and biological processes are of tremendous complexity. Gary manages a balance between the simple and the complex, so that we learned a lot, were not patronisd or confused, and the explanations are intersperesed with anecdotes and humour. Finishing with seeing the manificent shire horses and tasting the beers in the Arden Arms (2 halves are included in the ticket price) made the experience special. The brewery visit is a must for those with any interest in beer and how it is made and may be of interest to those with little interest.
Show more...Gary the tour guide gives a very informative and engaging description of the process. Very interesting to see the new brewery equipment alongside the old. It won't be around forever as the brewery is moving out of town, so highly recommend going to see it while you can.
For £10 it's a bargain as that includes a pint at the Arden Arms, where the food is also excellent.
I purchased from the Tempest arms late November and December gift vouchers for elderly friends as Christmas presents. Found out after Christmas that the Tempest arms was closed for refurbishment until mid May. I was never notified that they were closing. I contacted the Tempest Arms who said they could only suggest my friend visited a different pub. They are old, have no transportation so would find this not practical. They then suggested I contact the brewery gifts dept. Telephone calls were of no use, I was told the gift department had no telephone (what! ) The brewery receptionist was quite rude and dismissed my call’s saying I would be contacted by email. 1 week later a reply extending the vouchers by 1 month and listing the company other venues. Absolutely terrible customer service.
Show more...Enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Tour guide Gary certainly knows his stuff which he delivers in an easy going and entertaining manner. Meeting Robinsons' pair of shire horses after the tour had finished was a bonus.
Show more...We had a spare one hour, and decided to visit this brewery. The visiting centre, though small, contains a lot of history, and interesting posters. Unfortunately, we did not have time for guided tour, but talking with staff member at this visiting centre gave us a good impression of their pride of working at this brewery.
Just a note – our Satnav and Google map took one street off from the correct location, with driving through pedestrian only zone. Once getting close to the location, you can easily identify the building.
This is a great place makes all my favourite beer. Also I am happy they greet the rainbow coalition. Todmorden is famous for having highest density of lesbians in the UK. but gay/trans is also high in the demographic. This is a great brewery that welcomes all. the ethos of Todmorden. They have a wide selection of beers to please the soul. I have always felt welcome here. They fly the rainbow flag of inclusion. I have yety to meet a dissatisfied customer. Top rank
Show more...We did the brewery tour followed by lunch in the onsite pub and thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour was interesting and fun. Gary the tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The food in the pub was tasty and good value. All staff were friendly and helpful. The beer was great too!
Show more...My daughter and husband went on the tour and had a meal - fantastic. So my husband and I went for just a meal on our next weekly visit to Stockport. I can’t believe we have never been before - food was lovely, reasonable and the place itself was fab. Nice staff, interesting surroundings ( without the full tour) definitely worth a visit or two instead of the usual cafe experience in the town centre.
