Lake Powell paddle boards and kayak was great to work with from start to finish. From the time we called to make the reservations they recommended that we do the early morning 6 AM tour so that the water would be less crowded with boats the hike would be more secluded and enjoyable experience. That was right on the money. Our group consisted of my family of four and two other couples. Our guide Aron was awesome. Provided some historical information on the lake, the area, the canyons and also was willing to engage in plenty of small talk and make recommendations for other sites to see, restaurants, etc. once you check in at the office you don’t have to worry about anything else, the guides meet you at the boat launch with the kayaks and all the equipment. It was about a 50 minute paddle out where are we docked kayaks and went for a hour and a half round trip hike into the slot canyons which was awesome. Our guide Aron was willing to take pictures of the entire group on the water and on the hike and airdrop to everybody which is cool. We even go to stop and swim and jump off the rocks into the water. Great experience. The paddle back was a little bit choppy as we were told due to the number of boats and other kayaks on the water so we’re definitely glad we did the early morning tour. Would highly recommend and do it again next time we were in the area.

Set up this surprise kayak outing for my wife on our 8th anniversary. She was super excited when we pulled up to the office.
Joe, the owner of #LakePowellPaddleboards was very knowledgeable and helpful.
We had a compact RV from #CruiseAmerica, which we’ve been enjoying for the first time too.
However we couldn’t fit a plastic 13 foot tandem kayak inside through the door.
Fortunately #LakePowellPaddleboards offered us their brand new high tech inflatable kayak. This thing is fast. They showed us how to set it up completely before we departed for the lake. Be sure to leave extra time for this - took us about 30 minutes to set this type of kayak up and 20 to clean it up and get it back in the RV. Well worth it though and only $65 for the day.
We initiated it on its maiden voyage around Lone Rock and to the end of Skull Canyon.
Joe gave us a map and directions, including which road to use to get to the beach so we didn’t get stuck in the deep sand.
Skull Canyon is a slot canyon, and if you’re brave enough to go through the deep wood chip “tea leaves” at the end of the water, is a fun short hike in.
Gents, you might earn points here by carrying her over the gunk at the end ;-)
Got back and Max was chill about looking over the kayak and everything was fine.
Another Plus for #LakePowePaddleboards is that they don’t store credit cards or use them online. You write your number down one time, they charge you at return and then shred the paper once the charge goes through. Nothing to hack.
They run an honest and valuable service. I recommend them with no reservations.

Our experience with Lake Powell Paddleboards and Kayaks was a wonderful one from the minute we got out of the car at the store to the very end.

We were greeted by an employee, helped inside with waivers, directions, person to meet at the boat launch, etc. The shop was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Dana was a great guide. We had a large group of 11 and he had his work cut out for him with unloading and loading. Everyone chipped in to help. We had a great group. He was very informative on instructions and information about the lake and area.

The views were exceptional and my boys loved their first kayaking trip. I highly recommend this tour and company.

There are several reasons why I’m giving two stars, but I want to say the young men and young lady who helped us were nice and helpful. The most important is that we got no safety course. I have Paddle-boarded before and never felt so out of control. The winds picked up before noon and our group could hardly get back out of the canyon. We are all in good shape. No one mentioned if anything happens to call anyone or bring anything in particular with you. It took us about 30 minutes to get into the canyon where you can start walking and it took us about 2 1/2 to get out. We also saw others struggling and one girl had to get rescued by a boat and pulled out. She just couldn’t get around the corner the wind and waves kept pushing her back. I recommend if you go to bring a dry back for your phone in case you need to call someone to pull you out and get a number of who to call if this happens to you. The experience in itself was amazing besides fighting the waves for 2 hours. Also the old man that sits on the front porch was a jerk trying to boss us around as if we worked there.

Absolutely one of the best things we did while visiting the area. The check-in process was easy, the guide was superb, the timing worked great for both paddling and hiking into the canyon. It was extremely challenging not only to launch, but more so to pull the kayaks out of the water with the very low Lake Powell water level. Given the popularity of this activity, I would go as early as possible in the morning.

Very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely use again if in the area. While I was registering, they had the kayaks loaded on my vehicle without my asking. Very quick and efficient. Friendly staff. Helpful. They also have a decent store inside to buy T-shirts and other items. We rented two two-man kayaks from them and they were in pretty decent shape, with oars and life jackets. They use padded straps on the roof to protect your vehicle from scratching. It was much easier than I anticipated. More than anything, very reasonably priced.

We did an afternoon kayak tour. Our guide was very nice; that was not the problem. There was a lot of activity on the lake so paddling with a ton of wake was intense. By the time we got into the canyon we were tired so had to really focus on how beautiful everything was instead of how tired we were (and we are physically active people). ON the way out, we were told there were 15 MPH winds (head winds) and that we had to follow directions, paddle hard or be stuck in the canyon. This was after almost two hours of paddling to begin with. Two people in our group had a very difficult time and the guide has to leave us to attend to them. When we got back to where we started, there was almost zero shore to get up onto. Never mind you have to drag the kayaks up a steep incline and then walk up a hill to get to your car. This should be advertised as an intense workout. NOT a leisurely sunset paddle.

This is a well run operation. There were lots of people on staff to help (including the owner who is extremely helpful). We originally rented a Kayak that wouldn't fit on our car. They charge $50 each way to drop off / pick up which was more than I wanted to spend. Thankfully, they suggested an inflatable which worked out great.

We were even able to pick it up late in the day prior to our rental so we could get a very early start the next morning (strongly recommended!)

Overall, we had a very positive experience with the shop as well as all the nice and helpful people we interacted with.

Great experience. Rented 2 double kayaks at 8am. Kayaked with 3 kids (7,8 & 11) to hike the antelope canyon. We did the entire thing in about 5.5 hours. On the way back about 11:45/12pm the waters we getting choppy from the boys in the lake making kayaking very difficult. I wouldn't rent any later than we did if you plan on doing the hike. Will rent from them again

We went on a Lake Powell guide led kayak tour and it was well worth the time. Getting out on the river made all of the difference in this stunning area. The river wasn't too crowded but busy. Our guide took us on a relaxing paddle with a fun stop to jump off a cliff on the way back. Our 10 year old son took the leap with us and it was exhilaration definitely added to wonderful memories. The water was warm and the temps were perfect. The equipment, instruction and information from our guide were all tops.
