Show more...I visited Haden Hill House today-for the Handmade and Vintage Event and was encouraged to visit the reminder of the House by a member of the staff
After going around the house for awhile I was informed by a stallholder(non staff) that I was not allowed to take photographs in the House- when I queried this with a member of staff I was told that no commercial photography was allowed-I said I was not a commercial photographer-just a serious amateur-instead of saying -Fine and welcome to the House all I got was a “er”-
If Sandwell and Haden Hill House has a no photography policy-then place notices and I will adher to it-but also enforce the ban on the people I saw throughout the House taking iphone photos!
Perhaps your staff could be trained to ask, politely, what was the nature and use of the photos and not to jump to conclusions with no evidence-your staff are there to stop people stealing items and writing on the wall-not to make arbitrary judgments
And with this it obvious that I will not be rushing back to the hospitality of Haden Hill House and Sandwell Council
Stunning local park with gorgeous views. Plenty to do and great for a trip out with the family or for a casual stroll.
Very lucky to have this in the local area.
My ladies group visited Haden Hill house for a Victorian evening this week. This was one of our most enjoyable events to date.We were greeted by costumed guides and offered drinks and candles. After an introductory talk we toured the house and then enjoyed a flower arranging demo.Next we made a lavender bag and had tea, cakes and watched the cook make shortbread. We ended the evening with a sing song around the piano. The enthusiasm and dedication of the volunteers is to be commended and the event was exceptional ally good value for money.Highly recommended.
Show more...This is a lovely park, big open spaces, gardens and woodland walks, they also have a couple of ghosts. It is quite hilly so perhaps not so good for those who are not to good on their legs. We found the park very clean, even the bins were tidy and not over filled. The pathways are well kept.
The house is also worth a look, the rooms that are open are decorated in a Victorian style and very pretty. There are information boards in each room which are informative. The day we were there there was some sort of photograph group or photo shoot going on, so some of the rooms were hard to see. This was not a problem, as this house is not a one way system, we simply went back to look at the rooms we had missed.
Lovely house and museum with park and lake. The house as events on throughout the year with guided tours theres just been a VE Day show , theres 2 fun dog shows a year as well as the house as special attractions for kids during school holidays with crafts etc. The house is also a wedding venue which is a lovely setting. My daughter got married here. Theres a bowling green, kids play ground and a cafe. Theres also a small nature reserve which runs along the canal.
Show more...It's a wonderful place to have a walk or just follow the sun moving from bench to bench. There are some events for children in the museum, such as Halloween theme. If you go there in the evening, you need to check the opening hours at the gate, because closing time in winter is earlier than summer time.
Show more...Love haden hill house. They have spent a lot of time and of course money restoring this beautiful building. Try and go along to one of the event weekends (christmas is lovely) the staff work so hard and it shows through their desire to share their knowledge. The park it sits in is fabulous and you can spend hours here discovering new areas. Of course I may be biased as its my local town park but it truly is beautiful whatever the season. I can see why so many choose to have this as a wedding location.
Show more...You may not think of Sandwell as a place for a lovely day out but Haden Hill House Museum and park is a lovely location and entrance is free.
The Victorian house is beautiful and and well presented with period furniture and there is plenty of information as you go around. There is a room for children with toys and games and dressing up and a room where temporary exhibitions are held.
There is a tearoom but it is only open for Events and Sundays in the high summer. But the cakes are very good!
The park is glorious with great views across the Clent Hills and several playgrounds for children.
The house holds some brilliant events and activities throughout the year too.
I thoroughly recommend a visit.

My husband and I got married at Haden Hill House on 5th of May 2012.
We couldn't have chosen a better venue for our VictorianThemed wedding. .
The house was magnificent & very historical, the grounds were beautiful & very well maintained.. The staff were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them..
My husband & I (& our guests) will never forget the day, it was romantic & magical. Everything we hoped it would be..
Our wedding photos look beautiful - with both the house & grounds in the background..
We would highly recommend everyone who wants an uunique wedding to get married at Haden Hill House.. Plus, the price is very reasonable (the bride & groom can have photos taken throughout the whole house (&all the barriers are taken down so you can 'get near' to the old fireplaces, furniture, etc) , although your guests aren't allowed they're able to remain in the 'wedding room' until photos outside are taken). We did however, have to buy our own champagne & soft drinks (for the toast following our wedding), but staff did supply the goblets & even pour the drinks during our service ready for when we left the wedding /morning room).
Please note, we had to pay both Sandwell Council Registrar Office & Haden Hill House to get married there, but (in our opinion) it was worth every penny..
We cannot praise Haden Hill House enough & would recommend anyone who wants an unique (victorian theme) wedding in a beautiful setting..

We've recently visited the Park & House for a ghost walk.
Show more...We were taken all around the park, grounds & inside the house. On visiting the house, we were taken down to the Cellar.
The cellar was full of rubbish. Empty pocket size tissue wrappers. Empty crisp packets, some where you could see old food stuck to them. There was even a plastic carrier bag sitting on one of the steps we had to use to get up/down.
You expect the house to be a little run down being so old..but surely someone could use that carrier bag to clean up all of the dirty food wrappers & general waste which has accumulated down in the cellar.
Not good on a Health & Safety point of view!
