Show more...August 2022 - temperatures daytime 33 degrees up to 40 degrees very humid, night time it never dropped below 30 degrees and is very humid. Travelled to IC Green Palace on 16/08/22 for 11 nights - 2 adults and 8 year old and 13 year old. We booked a 2 bedroom family room. We flew with Corendon Airlines. We arrived late as Corendon were delayed, so 1.15am...... Straight up to our room number 2102. Everything looked lovely on first impressions and staff were helpful and spoke good English. We unpacked and went to bed - shattered...... Following day we headed downstairs to SOFRA buffet on the 'R' level from lifts. It gets busy around certain times and tables were difficult to find inside, which is where we wanted to sit as it was so hot outside. Food was of good quality and plenty of choice, they do not have bacon. They have omlettes freshly made, pancakes, crepes and the most amazing pastries !! Lunch was soup, salads, breads, meats etc. Evening buffet had a good selection but my fussy children didn't eat anything so we always had a big lunch to compensate. I took ill with D&V for 24 hrs after eating from the outdoor BBQ, I did have rice so it may have been reheated. I spoke to a couple of others who also had been sick. Just be careful, drink plenty, stay in shade and eat unpeeled fruits, I didn't take any of this advice so it was my fault that I was sick. The rest of the family were not ill at all and the restaurants are clean. We went for a walk to the beach and along the jetty, it is a blue flag beach and is protected because giant sea turtles lay their eggs nearby. We loved it. It is quiet and peaceful until 4pm then the music comes on from jetty. The sea is beautifully warm and it is sandy, more like sharp sand then soft - beware as it gets really hot to walk on, we got Sand Socks to wear. Lots of shells to dive for which kept kids amused for hours. Water Sports are offered at an additional cost, paraseiling is 150 euros for 3 people, jet ski 15 mins for 70 euros - we thought it seemed a bit expensive so didn't partake. Beach Cabanas are NOT included and are chargeable locally, a whole day in a cabana is 80 euros - it is not worth this price - all you get is a large bed and a mini fridge....... There was always plenty of sunbeds at the beach and it belongs to the hotel, we never had to worry about saving one. Around the pools is another matter. People were going down at 5am to put towels out which is so annoying and then they don't turn up to sit on the beds until late afternoon. The hotel do need to monitor this more closely as it was frustrating. The beach had showers and toilets. The beach bar is lovely to enjoy a drink or a Magnum/Cornetto from the freezer which is included in your package deal, our boys had so many !!! There is a smaller restaurant near the beach which does hot dogs and baked potatoes for lunch, we had lunch there once but found another Snack Restaurant a little further up past the Aqua Park to be excellent. It opens at 12.30pm and gets packed really quickly, they have a menu and it is cooked fresh. We tried the pizza, donar, classic burger, spaghetti bolognese and it was lovely. We ate there everyday. The Water Park, big slides is open 10-12.30pm and then 2.00-5.30pm. The majority of slides are 10+ years and the Bowl and Boomerang are 12+ years - however, if you child can swim well without armbands the lifeguards will allow them onto the slides but under your supervision. My 13 year old swims for his region so I have no worries there but my 8 year old is not a strong swimmer, he can swim though. He was allowed on the slides and he coped well. The lifeguards are strict and like to blow their whistles ALOT - on one occasion the lifeguard asked my 8 year old to demonstrate his swim to him to ensure he was strong enough. They are good lifeguards. The pool is 1.4 meters so if they are shorter than that they need to swim quickly to get out of way of other swimmers coming down the slides. Some of the slides require a rubber ring, its great fun but make sure your child fits in the ring and doesn't slip through, lots of kids came down without the rings and hurt themselves. Mind the metal steps, very slippy and lots of cuts/grazes from running up them. All in all though a FAB Waterpark and maintained well. It also has sunbeds around the area. Splash Park and Small slides - the splash park was just great fun running through it and the buckets emptying over your heads, the smaller slides are perfect for younger kids and the pool is shallow. My 8year old and I had fun in there. There are sunbeds around this area too. Kids club/Teen Club - did not use so no review. IC Cafe - lovely coffee, milkshakes, pastries. Try the strawberry milkshake and Iced Mocha and Caramel Macchiato. Activity Pool 1.4m - this pool is busy busy busy with exercise classes, trampolines in the pool to exercise on and then exercise bikes, Zumba - its tiring just thinking about the ladies who run the classes, they are so FIT and ENERGETIC - I did the Boxercise class, great fun trying to wear boxing gloves in the water. Larger pool/Lagoon Pool 1.4m - lovely pool, some of the steps into pool were cordoned off as they were broken which was a shame. Also pool was closed for a day for major disinfect, not sure reason for that. Indoor pool - not open. Spa / Hammam - did not try. A La Carte Steak House - 5* amazing evening, it is 25 euro adult and 13 euro child under 12 - the fillet mignon was amazing - really recommend an evening here. It was my birthday and they bought out a cake and sparklers which was a lovely touch. Fridges around hotel all have bottled water and drinks to help yourself and your mini bar will be restocked everyday with Pepsi, 7Up and Fizzy orange cans and water - this is excellent service. Also two freezers with plentiful ice creams, one at Activity pool bar and one at beach bar. Cleanliness - 10/10 - everywhere was clean, the staff are hardworking. Rooms made up everyday, clean towels, drinks etc. Pool Towels - there are two huts, one by pools and one on beach, you get one card token per person and you get towels for sunbeds from huts. Now onto the problems - there were only TWO........ :-( 1. The LEAF open air nightclub for 16+ years faces all the rooms that face the pools - the music is techno and dance music, the bass is unreal and the balcony doors do not stop the sound, it was so bad in room 2102 that we had to move to the back of the hotel on our 2nd day, this was handled with care by the Reception Staff, they were so helpful and understood the problem. The music does not stop until 1.00am EVERY night. We are not old but my nightclubbing days are over as I have two kids, so I like to go and watch the Amphitheatre show or walk to beach in the evenings then head up about 11pm and get boys to bed for a nightcap on the balcony, unfortunately the kids couldn't sleep and were up until 1.30am - this is not restful for parents. We appreciate every hotel has entertainment but maybe 'open air' discos are not the best idea........ 2. We moved to room 1103 on our 2nd day - Rooms at back of hotel are disturbed by the music from the hotel next door which is equally loud until midnight and then at 4.45am every morning without fail, the LARGE BLACK COCKEREL will wake you up, he cock-o-doodle-do's until 8am every 5 seconds and drives you insane !!!! There is a large chicken coup there - this was bizarre, we have never had this in any hotel ever. These two problems may seem trivial but I can assure you that when you pay nearly £4500 for a 11 night holiday (next years prices are astronomical !!) you expect to be able to go to bed whenever you want and be able to go to sleep. These were our only issues. The staff are all amazing - from the cleaners, waitresses/waiters, guest relations, reception desk, bar staff, activity staff, cooks, lifeguards etc - everyone tries to speak English and they are so kind and helpful - we tried speaking Turkish, they loved it and laughed a lot when we got it wrong but we tried. I would definitely go back to Antalya, Turkey. I recommend it to everyone. We would only go back to IC Green Palace if prices drop and we get a room as far from chickens and disco as possible :-) Trips:- We were visited by a lady called Veronica on our first day who tried selling us some day trips. Her company is called Star Trips. They were expensive and so we organised our own trip with the hotels taxi service. It cost 1150 Turkish Lira to hire a taxi for the whole day, he took us to Antalya Town to the markets and the old bazaar, we went to the Marina and had lunch on the clifftop. The driver waited for us all day, it was great. The shopping wasn't as cheap as we expected. Football kits were about 20 euros, you can haggle if you buy more than one. REMEMBER THEY LIKE CASH, they get charged a surcharge for using credit/debit cards and are not keen on that. Best shops were :- Black & White, Haroo the owner is fab and clothing is excellent quality. John at Marina Bags we got a LV rucksack £25, Prada rucksack £20, Gucci cap £10, Jordan cap £5, 2x Raybans £12, Dior handbag £15 - he threw in 2 wallets for free Aspendos - Kenan is the owner, we got our football kits here and lovely Nike hoodies, excellent quality and air conditioned shop - heaven !! Tiar Kids - Esra the owner sells amazing scarfs, we got 2 x cashmere LV and a Dior one for £50. Theyre gorgeous. They do silk scarfs, woollen scarfs and cashmere. Rough Conversions - 200TL = £10, 400TL = £20, 500TL = £25, 600TL = £30, 800TL = £40 1000TL = £50, 1500TL = £75, 2000TL = £100 and so on and so on.......... Aug 2022. Start at the Black & White clothing store walk down along the market to the small open square then turn right and walk over tram lines towards clock tower where you will see the Old Bazaar. Take a walk through the myriad of lanes, some of it is steep so mind your step. Take plenty of water it gets very hot. Walk down towards the marina where you can take a boat trip for an hour or walk along discovering the bronze statues. We walked along to the mini lighthouse and then up onto the clifftops for lunch, the ice cream man up there is hilarious, 45TL for delicious gelato and a little show for the kids !! The walk back up is hard work as it is up hill, there is an observation elevator but we think it carries a charge, not sure how much. I also bought lots of lovely hand painted pots and bowls, they are so pretty and 18TL each. The coke and fanta is about 20TL each. Next time we want to do the waterfalls and a boat trip. the Cable car looks good as well. I do hope that this overview has been helpful and that you will choose Turkey for a holiday because it is a gem of a destination. Please feel free to ask me anything about IC Green Palace or shopping out and about.

Show more...Our family of four had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. The expansive lobby and fantastic food selection added to the overall experience. Both the adult and kids' pools were well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout our stay. The hotel exuded a sense of safety and comfort, and the dining staff were exceptionally welcoming. Rooms are clean, though slightly outdated. I did however find that at certain points in the day, there are no food options available, particularly between 4:30 and 6:30. By the beach, the service of drinks and ice creams, along with the many entertainment options for the kids, added to the enjoyment. While our only issue arose with a receptionist who initially seemed inflexible about adding our son to the room reservation after something we had overlooked, another receptionist later resolved the matter by offering a discount for the additional add-on. Despite this initial hiccup, a gentleman at the hotel graciously allowed us a late check-in, which we greatly appreciated due to our late flight departure. The overall experience was excellent, and we strongly recommend this hotel. We look forward to returning in the future.

Show more...The hotel is very large but quite nice all in all. The indoor pool was ok, but we were a bit unlucky with the weather and there wasn’t much else to do. The games room was closed. Antalya itself was very disappointing with not much to see. Being woken up by a cockerel every morning was horrendous. I’ve never encountered a cockerel at a luxury hotel and can’t think why this would be a good idea.

We had a really lovely time here and the staff really made it a special break. It's definitely worth being aware that a lot of the hotel facilities are out of action in February as it's low season. We were anticipating this and as we were paying a third of the price in summer we understood. However there was quite a lot of maintenance building work going on too which made it feel a little more closed (outside pond drained, beach pier taped off and broken, pool being drained, drilling up pavings). This aside, the food was wonderful, kids club great and it really felt you were tucked away from the road and in your own little world. It's expensive to get taxis into Antalya. We got the bus which was good but took an hour. It's definitely tricky to explore the area from but then most of the resorts on Lara beach are the same. Pros: Beautiful green grounds Delicious food Wonderful, kind staff Every query dealt with instantly and professionally Lovely views and enormous room (we booked the family room with two bedrooms) Great kids facilities. Our 5 year old loved the club, mini disco, playgrounds. Breakfast went on till 11 and you never felt rushed Really clean. Blackout curtains in the bedroom really handy for baby naps UK plug sockets alongside the other type Everything felt so easy and well organised Really impressive dance performance as evening entertainment one night Daily entertainment even in low season Very comfy, firm mattress Cons Some areas like our room were a little worn. Only a minor criticism No baby changing facilities in the men's toilets. This drove me mad as I was stuck doing all the nappy changes when we were out of the room! As it's off season you have to be aware of timings for when they turn on the kids funfair or splash slides etc The 'green' credentials seem pretty weak. The number of plastic bottles wasted is enormous but then it's great not having to worry about the drinking water We went with our 1 year old and 5 year old and would highly recommend for families. Not sure I'm be so keen without kids though! I'd definitely be back though!
