Visited to check out the hype. It’s a nice small cove and really a little taste of Venice with its small pathways; waterside dining and strange smells.
Found the restaurants / drinks to be quite overpriced vs other locations in Mykonos although understandable as it’s very touristy. The main bars don’t open until 630pm evening so worth bearing in mind but there were a few restaurants open in the day.
It’s also very close to the famous Mykonos windmills too which is around a 5 minute walk away.
My advice? Visit once as that is all it warrants in my opinion! We considered that Little Venice was just the stretch of buildings that abutted the sea and so we visited just to be able to see what the fuss was about and we were suitably disappointed. The area is small and the only similarity to Venice is that the sea laps up to the walls of the restaurants and bars.
The bars and restaurants were, in my opinion, vastly overpriced and only suitable for those who feel that they need to be fed and watered at such establishments. There is another group of people who will visit and they are those wishing to catch a glimpse of the glitterati that seem to frequent the town.
The stretch also gets extremely busy and nigh on impassable when the cruise ships visit and the passengers descend on Little Venice.
If visitors want to be impressed visit the rest of the town which has some glorious architecture and sights to see, much better than Little Venice.
We stayed in Plati Yialos, Mykonos, for three nights. We came by bus to Mykonos Town every night. The bus would drop off the passengers not far from the windmills. Little Venice is the famous place where people go to see the sunset. An area full of restaurants and bars. It's a picturesque and pleasant place to have a drink. The only negative about this area is restaurants want to charge twenty-five to forty euros per person for the tables closest to the water. You can hang out next to the windmills and have the same experience.; ask before you sit down. I highly recommend coming for a visit.
Show more...A beautiful place for sunset and drinks. In the evening many bars with dance music. Everything is a little bit expensive but you're at 'little Venice' and this view is unique !! Friendly staff in all the different places we went. Many tourists of course, so were we :-)
Show more...Little Venice is an unusually designed part of MYKONOS that has the architecture of Venice and the sea slapping against the seawall creating a perfect setting for a splendid way to end the day.
The combination of the breeze and the sea slapping creates a rhythm that blends well with the cacophony of the people sitting and Milling Around that you don’t find in many places .
The Only thing that ruins the ambience is that unfortunately they still allow smoking and when the tables of four and six smoke frenetically it spoils the quality of air To the degree that it is unhealthy.
Little Venice is a charming part of Mykonos. The water lapping up on the building is reminiscent of Venice. The narrow alleys contain many shops and boutiques and cafes, many of which are overpriced. But it is a nice area to stroll around in.
Show more...Little Venice is a beautiful place next to the sea with the view of the windmills.
The problem is with all these cafe bars there which are really destroy the beauty of the place.
60 € per person to be there or 500 € for a table with a bottle.
They react like pimps and generally are rude.
Next to the bars there is a area which you can have the same view without those pimps.
If you want to see the view and not show your money, you can take a beer from a kiosk and take it easy there.
I did a lot of reading prior to coming but even the descriptions didn’t do this place justice. It is a very unique “village” with plant of places to sit by the sea and enjoy a drink or meal. The one downside is they really increases the prices of everything during tourist season so ask the cost of everything BEFORE you order or agree to purchase something. Also i’ve been told that this is a VERY ACTIVE party area after 9pm so be aware of that. My wife and I enjoyed drinks and dinner and had a great time before 7pm!

We wove around the shops and restaurants and loved seeing the sights. Definitely could've spent a lot more time shopping, but we wanted to spend the majority of the day by the beach. I recommend strolling through Little Venice, visiting the Mykonos windmills, and then catching the public bus to Platis Gialis Beach for the perfect day here.

I could not believe how many tourists can squeeze into these small alleys. It was a great way to see the little shops in the side streets. Best of all there was a Pelican in one of the restaurants just cleaning himself. We all just walked around him. Great to see nature mix with people and we all can work together. The shop owners are very friendly and do t hesitate to haggle for a hat or scarf.
