As the name suggests, Pigeon Valley is a breathtaking stop to make on a tour of Cappadocia…whether you’re human or pigeon. The amount you can see from the panorama is simply stunning—one of the locations in the park that offers some of the most variety of rock formations to spot of any other viewing point. Your eyes won’t be disappointed.
Check it out!
Great walk, very photogenic place. For the best part our walk was flat however some climbs were very steep. Wouldn't recommend for anyone who struggles with walking. We were with a tour guide however the path had changed and we ended up having to hike back up to the village. Its great in winter but if you go in summer be sure to take the normal measures, sunscreen, hats, water etc.

Good for photo taking as tourist or locals.
Some shops around selling traditional Turkish souvenirs
A nice 45 minutes walk around.
BEWARE BIG AGGRESSIVE DOGS!
My wife and I were walking down the valley and the area is beautiful and the valley is cooler. But about 15 minutes in we hear growling and the huge dogs surrounded us and we were both bit. We managed to escape as they only seem to be guarding their territory but would not recommend walking down the valley
In this valley there are small rock carvings for pigeon nest, done by people who lived nearby. They wanted to get fertilizer from pigeon droppings. There are so many pigeons here. When the flock fly that’s wonderful. Now farmers are not dependent on this natural fertilizer. Hence they don’t take care of the pigeons any more and their numbers are declining ( according to our guide).
Show more...Beautiful panoramic view , can see pigeon holes on wall of some formations. You can also walk down and go on some trails in valley as well. There are some stalls where you can buy souvenirs and also nut and dried fruit shop on roadside at that areas. Those are tourist traps and price is much higher than you see in some other places or souvenir shops in small cities or your hotel area. Sometimes could be about 5 times higher than you could get for same product even though you bargain with them and you thought you got a good deal.

Watching the pigeon scatter and move in unison was really cool, you also then get to see the views of the valley and some caves.
In December also coating of snow making it even more magical.
Very much worth the visit, only about 30 minutes from Goreme.
You just need a quick stop or you can stay a long time and hike or grab lunch and shop and the few shops they have. Great views with lovely photo ops. Several trees with evil eyes tied on them making great back drops. Across street is a nice quaint place for a beer or coffee and lunch. A shop with nuts and dried fruits next door. Typical overpriced souvenirs right there.
