Such a cute town! My family and I absolutely loved the small town vibes. The gunfight show in downtown was so much fun as well. There was a shorter guy in the show and I thought he was so handsome. If he sees this I was too nervous to ask if he was single.

So much history. The ghosts of the past travelers are in every brick and board. Not in actuality, but in the sense of emotional energy. Walking down the streets you can imagine the car loads of people who traveled through on Historic Route 66. Seeing this great little town and having a chance to stop, eat, stretch their legs or even stay for the night. I vaguely remember traveling through as child in the very early 60"s. It was so much fun to see it again. Lots of shops, places to eat, and just to sightsee. Did not get a chance to see it all, so we will be back.

I really enjoyed visiting one of the stores on the main street. It had some old antique cars and interesting items that would give PETA conniptions! lol Bear rugs, buffalo hides, buffalo heads, coyote skins etc. Very interesting store. As for budget friendly, it depends on how deep your pockets might be.

The best thing about the excursion is you make it what you want, on your own two legs and long you want to take. We headed into the downtown/Route 66 area about 5:00 pm to check out the shops and then get dinner at a restaurant recommended by the hotel. We drove down the one-way portion of Rte 66 to get a feel for the restaurant and shops, then looped back to park near the restaurant in a public lot. We went walking down a few blocks from the restauran, checking out all the shops, many of which paid homage to Rte 66. We headed back to the restaurant after about an hour and 15 minutes. In the restaurant an old west gunfighter came in the let everyone know to come down the street later for a gunfight. We did after dinner and there was quite a crowd gathered. It was cute. Then we went to the local Dairy Queen for dessert.

What a tourist trap. Almost everything is overpriced compared to a normal town. Even Taco Bell was overpriced and gave me a "Locals discount".
Restaurant food was overpriced, mediocre, and service horrible.

Williams traces itself back to the Route 66 days when tourism was young. It still hypes that motif. Williams is very much a tourism area. The downtown has been restored to recreate the Route 66 days. There are numerous restaurants, bars and gift shops all with an old Western feel. To give it credit, they've done a nice job.

We went to Williams to ride the train to the Grand Canyon. It was amazing-a fantastic experience. The campground near the train station was very nice. The downtown area (Rt 66) was1 block away. We had so much fun that we stayed for a week!

We spent an afternoon in Williams while we were vacationing at the Grand Canyon. It really is a neat little town, the downtown area is full of little shops & restaurants. Route 66 runs right through it, so that’s the general theme. We had a good time!

Downtown Williams is a fun and interesting place to visit. It’s historic and very kitschy. This town has really capitalized on the heritage of Route 66. There are lots of dining options and plenty of chances to buy Route 66 collectibles. They even block the streets and have a very family friendly old west “shootout”. It’s kind of corny but fun nevertheless! Spend a few hours here.

Relive the old west as the cowboys in Williams reenact a gunfight right in the middle of the old Route 66 main street through town (around 7pm each evening). They even pull members of the crowd into this event and add some humor to it as well. There are several restaurants and old businesses from the Route 66 days to see; including a microbrewery in an old gas station. This is a great stopover on your way back to Los Angeles or a place to visit right near the Grand Canyon train station. There is even a zip line next to the tracks.
