We come here at least 3-4 times a year and never ever had an issue. Every meal I had was delicious and the potions are big. I never left hungry or unsatisfied. It's a lovely place to have a meal and watch others playing a round of golf (I'm rubbish playing it). All of the interior is upper standard and very clean. The staff are one of the friendliest and helpfulness I know and I've been to a lot of restaurants. It's also suitable with young kids.

Show more...My husband booked the table to celebrate my birthday. There was not one other person in the whole of the restaurant. Whilst we were waiting 35 mins for our food, we noticed that the golfers out on the patio were eating their food. I suspect the kitchen was busy catering for them. The waitress seemed to be a bit confused when taking our order for our main meal. I chose the fillet steak and prawns and asked for it to be cooked medium and was having chunky chips as a side. We were abandoned for 35 minutes, not even asked if we wanted a drink. It was my birthday and it would’ve been lovely to have had a glass of fizz or anything. When the meal arrived, the chunky chips weren’t chunky and my very expensive fillet steak was over cooked and there were only a few prawns. I sent it back and on reflection, just asked for it to be taken off the bill. I suspect the kitchen was serving golfers in the pub and we were forgotten about. It doesn’t take 35 minutes to cook steaks? It has ruined my day. consequently, I rang up and complained to the restaurant manager. She was apologetic, but had to speak to management/owners and get back to me. The next day, the manager returned the call. He said he was so embarrassed and sorry about the whole experience and would like to invite us back to get the proper Rockmount experience. I rang back today to make arrangements for next week. I thought as my birthday was ruined, that Rockmount would invite us back and the meal would be complimentary. They said they were willing to contribute £30 toward it. What an insult. We could’ve gone to the Merchant, or anywhere else for that matter, but we decided to give Rockmount a shout. I never want to go back there ever again and preferred to highlight the issue on Tripadvisor. They have shot their bolt and aren’t one bit sorry in my opinion even though they say they are.

The service was fantastic only to be surpassed by the wonderful food from an excellent menu.
My wife had a very generous portion of duck whilst I had a sirloin steak with all the trimmings. All the food was well presented and came in a reasonable time after placing the order.
We will be back again very soon.
Sept 11, 2014 our large group of traveling American golfers enjoyed playing the scenic rolling hills of the Rockmount Golf Club. We'd been playing the links courses of Northern Ireland and Scotland and it was a nice change to play lush green fairways and greens that held incoming shots.
The course has several challenging holes including a great risk/reward opportunity on the par 5 6th hole. A well struck tee shot will put you at the top of a hill looking down at the green beyond a creek and a eagle or birdie opportunity.
The 11th hole is another beauty. It's a par 4 with an exciting approach shot over the pond with the fountain shown in my photos.
The back nine is a bit of a walking workout with some substantial hills.especially on the warm and sunny September day we played it.
The finishing hole is a classic par 4 with a downhill tee shot followed by a longish approach shot over a wee creek with a little St. Andrews style stone bridge then up a steep slope to a tricky two-tiered green. Several of us enjoyed our Guinness on the patio while watching our comrades struggle with their downhill putts on this rascal.
Our dinner with all our Irish hosts was perfect at the Rockmount Club that evening.
I learned that owners Robert and Diane Patterson committed a large chunk of their farmland to build this course and in 1995 Darren Clark performed the opening ceremony for Rockmount. Their commitment to delivering a quality product certainly shows in the condition of their golf course, the quality of their food and the friendliness and dedication of their employees.
I'd say both the golf course and the restaurant are truly a couple of hidden gems of Northern Ireland.
We booked a family meal for 8 people on Friday 4th July and would like to congratulate Rockmount on providing first class food and service to the entire party. Many thanks, won't be long until we're back again!
Show more...My husband kindly rounded off my birthday today with a lovely meal in the Rockmount golf club restaurant. With new decor and menus to highlight a recent refurbishment, we enjoyed the warm ambiance of the restaurant. Service was prompt and efficient. Both of our meal choices were delicious. My choice of battered chicken with potato wedges and stirfry vegetables topped with chilli sauce was totally delicious. My husband had the roast beef with all the trimmmings. Again, the meat was tender and full of flavour. A great way to finish a pleasant day.

Show more...A beautiful course. We thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a course. Challenging and fun to play. We did have a little difficulty finding some of the tee boxes as there is quite a distance between the greens and the next tee boxes. We found there was a lack of signage along the course- but after a little searching we found our way. We were only able to play the one game but would have enjoyed more. We definitely would return.

I am from Minnesota. Last week (late September 2014) 14 golfers from around Belfast and 14 Americans who compete in the same match competition as the Ryder Cup every two years either in Ireland/Scotland or in America depending on where the Ryder Cup is held came to Rockmount Golf Club for a round of golf and a few pints and dinner. No one should doubt that this place is an excellent example of the best of Park Lands Golf and is extremely well groomed and landscaped. It is a challenge, especially on its beautiful signature holes and the facilities are some modern and beautifully built. Best of all, we were treated like top end members. The Bar staff, the restaurant staff and the golf management were superb in making our day one to remember. Coming down the hill on the 18th hole with a beautiful bridge leading to that elevated green was such fun with all our mates on the outside patio cheering for every shot up to the green. Like a lot of successful businesses, you can have great facilities, but the people, the service, and the friendliest attitude make for memorable experiences. Thank you to their whole team.
