Cairngorm Hotel

We have not been to Aviemore for 28 years but I always remember this hotel as being iconic and standing out opposite the train station . So booked it for 2 nights direct with the hotel. What a charming olde world hotel. With lots of quirky Scottish decoration. Everybody we encountered was helpful and polite. Room tastefully decorated. Tea & coffee making in room . Breakfast defeated us both .

A lovely, traditional hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are basic but clean. Food and service in the restaurant were excellent. Wi-Fi is very slow and intermittent which is a big downside. There is live music in the bar every evening, which many people like, though rooms above the bar will have to either enjoy or endure the noise.

We travelled to Aviemore for the day and stopped in for some late lunch after our lovely day out. The food was delicious and we were very happy with how full we were afterwards, however, we were slightly disappointed with the staff as they seemed a little lost with the service and brought our food out all at different times, which was unenjoyable for the group to have to wait and they were not very friendly either. Which was a shame because the food was great!

Not good if you have a dog with you booked a room with the dog when we got there dogs are not allowed in restaurant which is fair enough, but they also weren't allowed in the bar so the only place we could sit with her was the entrance we asked if we could eat there but we're told no, so we had to go out to eat as if we'd left her in the room she'd have howled and I dont think that would have gone down well

We have stayed at the Caringorm hotel many times including 2 stays in February 2024. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and clean,breakfast was excellent as was the meal in the restaurant at night with enough vegetarian choices to stop me getting bored. The staff are friendly and professional, there is entertainment in the hotel bar which makes a nice end to the evening.

We had a wonderful Christmas everything was perfect ,great breakfasts and an amazing Christmas dinner , the staff so friendly the rooms spotless and everything we needed on hand. It was a lovely four day Family holiday I would recommend this .

Walked in to this hotel on Friday 12 Jan on the off chance of getting a room for two nights was swiftly dealt with by Craig within half an hour I had my room. The room blew me away so so lovely and very well decorated the breakfast was out of this world the two ladies who were serving were so helpful and smiling which made my breakfast a joy to eat. The hotel is beautifully decorated and comforting all the staff are always polite and chatty. I will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future you have won me over a superb experience is given by myself. Cairngorm Hotel you are just an amazing hotel and thank you for hosting me. We stayed for 4 nights in first week in January, the room was really lovely front facing , king size bed was really comfy . Breakfast was good and hearty though not all that hot on our last day but il Let them off that one . We ate once in the ridiculously busy restaurant which again was good and hearty with great staff and good service , it dosent take bookings which I applaud, wait your turn and have a drink in the well stocked friendly bar, no problem. All in all every member of staff were smiley and friendly and it’s a great traditional hotel for a short break with great food . We will be back

A great accidental discovery. Was driving by looking for another hotel and saw it and we both said that’s what we want. The staff on the front desk were so friendly and helpful. The place was full of local folk using the bars and restaurant. The food for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Next time heading to Aviemore I will have a reservation so I can’t be disappointed.

All the boxes get a big 'tick'. Friendly staff, excellent service, good food, comfy bed, good prices. Couldn't ask for more. In addition to all that the location on the main street makes finding it so easy. We'll be back
