Show more...I took my granddaughter to two concerts - Max and Harvey on the Thursday night, New Rules on the Friday. Before going, I had contacted the venue to inquire about a companion ticket, as my granddaughter has special needs, and requires a carer to escort her.
I received not only a very prompt response from Lauren, telling me we were added to the access list and no companion ticket was required, but she then went on to offer early access and a reserved booth. She arranged everything, with very clear instructions on what to do on the nights.
Arriving at the venue, everything was in place. Names on the list, taken in through the back door, we were able to get settled before the main doors opened, and the other fans all rushed the stage. All the staff were great, and the manager even came across to check we were ok, and didn't need anything else.
The whole experience was very well organised, and I can't thank Lauren and all the staff on the night enough.
On top of that, the shows were great, and my granddaughter really enjoyed them.
I would definitely recommend, especially if you need additional support.
So helpful.
I was attending a gig here in September with friends. 3 of the four of us have varying mobility issues. I contacted the garage to see if they could possibly provide seats as I ones it was going to be very busy and mainly standing.
Honestly, they couldn't have been more helpful. This meant the difference between us being able to enjoy the full evening or two of us probably having to leave before the end.
I'd especially like to mention Lauren. Thank you.
We had travelled 200 miles for that evening so it was woeful to be able to fully enjoy it. We have been to the Garage several times and never really liked asking before but I wouldn't hesitate in the future. It opened up the possibility of seeing many more bands that we enjoy.
Went to see Massive Wagons at the weekend. Over the last 11 years I've seen them 90+ times in at least 60 different venues, and this is the first time I've been anywhere that makes arrangements for people with mobility or sensory issues.
My thanks to Lauren who arranged seating for myself and my husband. The stage is quite high so you get a good view of whoever is on it.
The Wagons were on fire, and being able to watch from a comfortable position made it even more enjoyable.
I had VIP meet and Greet /Soundcheck tickets for Melanie C it was an amazing show, The staff were really friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that VIP fans could enter the venue first and the person on the door disregarded the fact that some fans had been queueing for 90 minutes whereas others pushed in and were let in first before us. However I managed to get pratically the front row so I was very happy :). It was a dream come true for me
Show more...I am 26F and an international student at a prestigious university. Following a halloween party, few of us decided to go to Garage and I wasn’t allowed inside. They didn’t care to give me a reason other than repeating I can’t go in today. Well then what days of the month am I allowed then? It would be nice if the management can put out a notice that people of color and from a particular gender aren’t allowed on certain days. The event ruined the mood of the entire group. If Garage proposes to be inclusive of everyone, I deserve an explanation for why I wasn’t let in when everyone else was. To my best memory, I was appropriately dressed, over 18, absolutely not drunk, and well mannered throughout the night. It was unfortunate and an absolute mood spoiler.
Show more..."I attended this venue last week for a gig with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had trouble receiving our tickets through ticketmaster but the stewards on the door were extremely helpful in sorting us out. Drinks were good, nothing too expensive and the band were brilliant! Great venue for gigs, hopefully be back soon!"
Show more...Awful. Went here for a night out, blonde bouncer refused us entry unless we had student ID’s (never had this issue before). Was cheeky and claimed students only but then proceeds to ask for passports only to the next set of people behind us. If your face doesn’t fit you won’t get in!
Show more...The bouncers in this place are incredibly sexist and misogynistic. I arrived at the club around 11pm with a small group of friends. The security guard immediately accused me of being too drunk, which was physically impossible considering I don’t drink because of medication. I explained this to the bouncer and he let me in, but when the ‘bag searcher’ tried to search my bag, he roughly grabbed my arm and accused me of being too drunk. I told him that I don’t drink and I hadn’t had anything, he then said ‘ I don’t believe that for a second. Out’, I tried to explain myself but he again grabbed me by the arm and escorted me out. I asked him to let go of my arm, and he didn’t until I was outside. There was no need to manhandle me like that. Yet my male friends had no accusations thrown there way. While escorting me out he kept calling me sweetheart and darling, which I found to be extremely patronising. My personal suggestion - perhaps hire bouncers who actually care about the safety of those entering the club, rather than bouncers who want a power trip especially against young girls. Did not feel safe at all. Do better.
Show more...Guy on the door refused entry to me and my friend for literally no reason apart from he didn't like the look of us. I have never been refused entry into a club before and have been all over the UK. Travelled over 200 miles for a friends 25th birthday and this ruined the night. The rest of our friends were allowed entry which makes no sense as we have been together all night and drank the same amount. A group of local girls also had been denied and they were completely sober. It's a complete joke and discriminating. I will never be returning to Glasgow for a night out as this was a disgrace, staff should be sacked.
The guy on the door seemed to be vaping and had glasses on. So rude and arrogant.

Attended a Max and Harvey concert here with my 10 year old daughter a few days ago, it was my daughter’s first concert. She has a lot of sensory issues especially with noise and isn’t great in crowds so I contacted the venue in advance and they were so helpful. They arranged for us to sit in a booth so that my daughter wouldn’t be overwhelmed with the noise but she could still see the stage clearly and they also gave her a sensory bag with ear defenders, stress toys et cetera - it was a real help for my daughter, she had a wonderful time. The staff and stewards were so helpful so top marks to The Glasgow Garage!
