We absolutely had a wonderful time! It was our first time traveling to Saint Augustine so we really had no idea where to go and what to do. We found the Old Town Trolley when my daughter wanted to stop at the old jail and old store. I was so glad we discovered the Old Town Trolley. I was able to purchase a package with tickets for the attractions we wanted for a discounted price and we had the convince of riding to each attraction. There is public parking in Saint Augustine that is around $15-$20 a day but with the trolley you get free parking. We got a great history lesson and got to hop and off around town at the attractions we wanted to see and do. They also offer hotel shuttle and beach shuttle with tour purchase. Most packages come with multiple days of trolley rides and the attraction tickets don’t expire so you don’t have to do it all in a day you can break up the attractions over several days and also take advantage of that free parking. I definitely recommend first time visitors take a tour of the city on the old town trolley.

Overall, I would recommend the tour. We were picked up at our hotel by Jay and as we drove to the starting point he chatted away and gave us some good local restaurant recommendations. Once at the starting point, you go through a rather hard sell to get you to purchase other tours. The lady who took care of us, had the nerve to tell me I could have bought the tour directly from them rather than through trip advisor. The trollies themselves were clean and plexiglass has been installed between seat rows which is nice. I am older and heavy and had to use the lift to board. The cars are high and very difficult for someone like me to get in. (I mention this because the completion has lower cars with more legroom and might be easier for some.) We opted to do the complete route and our driver/guide Kendall gave very good commentary, was easy to hear and understand and was an excellent driver. Upon our return to the depot starting point, Tracy quickky arranged our return to the hotel. The route takes approx 90 minotes if you do it without getting on and off. Highly recommend for getting your feet wet.

We purchased 3 trolley passes at $64.97 each for a total of $195. The trolleys all full every time they came to a stop and we had to wait 30 minutes between trolleys. When we purchased the tickets we were told trolleys ran 15 minutes apart which turned out to me false.
We were at stop 22 waiting to get back to the main trolley stop. We waited over 30 minutes and a trolley never arrived. When we asked the Old Town employee when we could expect the next trolley we were told to walk to the main trolley stop.
My family and I were appalled that after paying $195 for trolley tickets we were told to walk.
The Old Town Trolley Tour is a waste of money.

It was our first time in St. Augustine and we were very excited to get on the trolley tours so we could see everything in the city. We came on 04/24/2021 and parked on a parking lot on Orange St and Cordova St, which is also a stop for the trolley. When we walked up to the attendant there we were greeted with a very rude and condescending attitude. The man was not very polite and was unwilling to tell us of any other packages available, just pointed to their poster so we could figure it out. We later had another incident with the same man, since when you park you are required to pay for the entire day. However we were not aware that we could not move our car in the entire day. We did move our car and then came back to the same spot assuming that the ticket we paid for covering the entire day was still valid. Instead of just politely telling us that we had to pay again, the man proceeded to stare at us as we walked towards the exit and then made a scene with us in front of a group of people who were waiting for the trolley. He tried to publicly humiliate us in front of everyone present and had the crowd "vote" on whether or not we were allowed to stay in the parking lot. It was a very humiliating experience and if that is the type of people they are employing I would want nothing to do with this company.

I bought the 2 day tickets on line. You can't just show the driver the e ticket and get on board, no you have to either drive to their ticket booths or walk to one. If you don't park at the Old Jail you get charged for parking.
Getting on and off is difficult as the seats are very close together and you have to take a large step up to get in, and the space is very narrow to get on board.. Getting off you have to climb down like on a ladder. The seats are terribly uncomfortable.
Trying to plan out your day getting to sights you want to see using the trolly is a nightmare because they do not actually run every 15 to 20 minutes as they tell you, and even if they do you can't always be certain the trolley won't be full and have to wait on the next one if you can even get on the next one.
Next time we will rent golf carts

Every single person we worked with at Old Town Trolley tours was 110% from the greeter at our first welcome center, every kiosk, driver and sanitizer. Pre-purchase your tickets before your trip and jump on the trolley at any point even before going to stop 1. Talk to a greeter at a Welcome center they can get you discounts on all the places you want to see. My only complaint about this subject is the locals that would harass the drivers, not let people in in traffic or yell things as they drive by. I’m sad that they don’t recognize the tourist are their money. All of our drivers handled it well.

We were lucky enough to have Davey as our driver for our first full loop. He was well versed in the history of the area and very friendly. The other drivers we had to get to some of the destinations did not mention some of the things he did and also changed the stories a little bit. BB was so obsessed with a little boy that got on that that's all she seemed to talk about until he got off. The tour was about an hour and a half with 22 stops, most of which are very close together but have different points of interest. The most interesting area was Lincolnville. There is a great Dominican/Greek Cafe at the "wax museum" stop that we would not have seen without the trolley using the parking lot for a turnaround. Stop by for a great Greek frappe! I really wish the tours would run into the evening as it is sooo hot from 9-4:30. They have plexiglass between each row for Covid (and I'm glad they do) but when the trolley isn't moving it becomes a sauna. I would definitely recommend this tour so you can see what all St Augustine has to offer. 3 days was not enough to experience the beach and all the historic landmarks. Can't wait to go back. (In cooler weather). Thank you Davey! P. S. The people at the ticket window are incredibly unfriendly. They did not even say what to do with the trolley stickers or where to go. I had the exact same negative experience with them in May 2019 when I purchased jail and old store tickets. They don't seem to offer information that would be helpful at all. Not sure why they are so unhappy. The people in the trolley stop on the other hand were very upbeat and helpful.

This trolley service is a great way to see Saint Augustine and not miss anything!! I shows you all of the historic places and also is a great deal to add admissions to some of the stops as it saves a bunch of money!! We booked a day tour with admission to the jail, fountain of youth and the general store tour and also added the ghost tours that evening. There's free parking for both as well. It was a great hop on and off tour!!

The audio in our trolly was crappy and we found t always make out what driver was saying. However, everything we did understand was fantastic. We had Kendall as a guide and she was funny, informed, upbeat, aware of what people were doing and keeping us safe. Do this first so you can see all 24+ sites in the city and then decide where you wanna go back to!

Old Town Trolley stands by their 100% satisfaction guarantee. The trolley is a great way to see the city as long as it is not on a holiday weekend. We did not have the best experience because there was a demonstration in St. Augustine and a March on another day. The trolleys could not navigate effectively through the main streets of St. Augustine. This delayed trolley passengers. Once the trolleys could get through, there were not enough trolleys to handle the passengers who were waiting. Several times there was a wait for the second and sometimes third trolley before there was room to get on the trolley. At busier stops there was more concern by the conductors to radio for help. If you happened to be at a less busy stop, there was not the same urgency and therefore you waited. When I contacted Old Town Trolley Tours, they readily refunded half of our fee. (We did have one great day on the trolley.)
