White Waters Country Hotel

Went with father in law and family for his birthday .Service was very slow some of us ordered late which came with three very small prices of shop bought bits of thin crisp bread waitress dropped one off my plate didn't bother to bring me another one of our party had deep fried brie when she cut into it it was hollow the carvery was tasteless and barley warm

I'm being kind by giving this 3 points. Young staff who didn't know the menu. Very slow service. My wife had brie wedges to start, which had no brie in them, the second one was OK. My cream of mushroom soup certainly had no cream in it, as I am yet to run for the toilet (love dairy but it doesn't like me). Carvery bland and tasteless. And yet the place was full.

Arrived on Friday 8th March and our room was ready and we also had a river view which was a bonus as the view was fantastic. The hotel was very clean but the rooms could do with an update which I am sure is on the cards. If you like your food then this hotel has 2 very good menus which we sampled on our two night stay. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who are very friendly and helpful. Especially Dev who is a credit to your business. We will be back again. Neil & Jayne.

Well this year was around the 7th new year we've spent here and have to say as a whole myself and husband and the other 4 couples with us all agreed that it was the best year yet! We always feel like we are coming home when we arrive at white waters, the staff are so friendly and within 5 minutes sitting in the bar we feel like we've not been away. As for the gala evening it was a wonderful night, the food was fantastic, the dj was brilliant as always and the fireworks were better than ever; the staff work so hard putting on a wonderful evening and barely stop all evening and then are up again serving your breakfast. We booked our stay for next year again when checking out on the 2nd Jan. I do wish reviewers would review more fairly, yes the bedrooms aren't luxurious 5 star rooms but they are not sold as such and certainly aren't charged as such, but, they are lovely and clean and lying in bed hearing the roar of the river is wonderful. Can't repeat enough what a wonderful time was had by all.

stayed for the new years eve gala.friendly lady when we checked in. lack of staff on bar in afternoon, had a nice curry and drink. went to shower at 6pm and no hot water, contacted reception who were not at all bothered,i was told it was due to ohers bathing at same time. so i asked what they could suggest and reply was unbelievable, i was advised to perhaps try again at 8pm.well the evening started at 7pm in the bar with canapes and drinks, so i had to dress without showering which was totally unacceptable. Evening meal consisted of a soup which was quite disgusting to many, mains was a type of buffet carvery that again was not up to a decent standard, deserts was a limited choice.very disapointed with the overall levels of the time spent in this hotel, room was tired and dated, no hot water. On a positive we enjoyed our breakfast and staff were very attentive to us,good selection of food and great service.

A quiet location set on the outskirts of the town, the hotel now perhaps needs to be refurbished and hopefully is a work in progress. Stayed in a very large room (a huge bed) with it's own dining area overlooking the bubbling River Dee and Castell Dinas Bran sitting atop the hillside. Ate in the bar, lovely waitress and the food was more than acceptable and reasonably priced. Breakfast is cooked for you and served by very pleasant staff. There is free wifi and parking.

I have stayed at the Whitewater on and off for over 15 years, and have always enjoyed my stay, but on our recent 3 night stay over the New Year, it was very noticable that very little has changed and there has not been much in the way of upgrading and refurbishment.. Staff, rooms, hospitality and location cannot be faulted. However, on this occasion I did feel that it let itself down a little, as it seems that standards are being allowed to slip a little, with people in the lounge in the evening in pajamas and people with feet up on tables while watching tv in the lounge. The rooms are lovely but also are in need of some upgrading...taps in bathrooms constantly running, a tv that was stuck on bbc1 and not able to be changed channel and on New Years Eve, several of our party having to shower in cold water, because the "boilers cannot cope with the demand" as advised by reception staff. The dinner in the restaurant for the first two nights was nice, but only average, and the "New Years Eve Gala Buffet" was simply a multiple choice carvery, and not gala or buffet. I have enjoyed my stay every time I have been here, however it is unlikely we will be staying again, which is a shame as it is a great location. No doubt future visitors will enjoy their stay, but for me, the time has come to find somewhere else.

Christmas Lunch at White Waters was Excellent.Home made soup to start, Roast Turkey and all the trimmings, Christmas pud and white sauce, Mince pie with tea or coffee,I almost forgot the glass of bucks fizz. The dinning room looked fantastic beautiful Black and Silver, chairs black with silver bows , sliver crackers, and table runner.Everybody so nice and happy .We had a day to remember. Stayed here for a night during a recent sporting visit to the area - nice hotel - reasonably priced - attentive and polite staff - rooms very clean - and a wholesome breakfast - what,s not to like. Very much enjoyed a late beer in front of the log burning stove - lovely.

My and my husband decided take my parents on an early Christmas weekend at the White Waters hotel as we are going on a cruise this year, first time without them. The staff were very accommodating into making our stay as festive as possible especially the new man Phil he went above and beyond during our stay and made us feel very special. His knowledge is fantastic. My mum enjoyed conversations about things of old with him. We had a Christmas lunch which wasn't the best but starters and deserts were lovely. Would recommend to anyone who likes to made to feel like a million dollars.
