First trip to TB for Test cricket since 2018. Excellent view from Radcliffe Road Upper - good leg room on Row A. Well organised and swift entry process. Service by the youngsters staffing the bars was a bit inefficient but the queues weren't too bad so not a problem. A great day as always.
Show more...My twin brother Stephen and I were visiting The Trent Bridge Inn and decided to have a look at the famous cricket ground.
Opened in 1841 ,this state of the art cricket stadium has a capacity for 15.000 , the home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club ,its also used for one day and international cricket ,its such an iconic stadium.
On out visit the ground wasn't open but it was still easy to take photos of the ground which I thought was marvellous, would love to take in a cricket match here, might do on my next trip to Nottingham, its easy to locate, over the Trent Bridge into West Bridgford, you can't miss the cricket ground.
Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.
Went for a tour of the cricket ground with two excellent guides - Austin and Ed. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and gave an in depth insight into all things about the ground and took me to all areas sharing lots experiences and allowing me to do likewise. If you have a couple of hours to spare when in Nottingham on a day the tour takes place I highly recommend it.
Show more...I had a tour of the cricket ground with a tour guide called Alan and another guy called Marvin.
The tour was absolutely amazing.
I do not really know a great deal about cricket as I haven’t seen it on the television for many, many years.
I certainly left the tour with more knowledge of the game than I did when I arrived!
I wanted to do the tour for the historical side of it really as I love to see old buildings and learn about the history of certain places.
This tour was so interesting and Alan was so friendly and so knowledgeable, answering all sorts of questions in detail about different things from oriole in the group.
We got to see lots of areas, my personal favourite was learning about the oldest pavilion, hearing about the queen and Prince Phillip visiting and a ball flying through one of the windows in the radio media room.
I would have loved to have seen the library due to being a children’s author as a pure hobby and I think that would have been pretty cool to see but I was extremely happy with the entire tour.
I felt relaxed and intrigued by everything that was being told us and I feel that the entire tour was just really good.
I would strongly recommend this tour even if you are not a fan of the sport.
I would love to say a huge thank you to Alan and Marvin, I hope that this review is noticed by the cricket club because those two really deserve thanks for the amazing tour.
One of the best grounds in the country. Great seating area's, giving good views of the game being played. I was here for the London Cup Final, Durham vs. Glamorgan. Yes, although not the same atmosphere as it would have been at Lords, there was a decent crowd here, and the atmosphere was good, both sets of supporters giving loud support to their teams. Easy ground to find, with good public transport, aswell as parking for cars etc. Inside the ground there's plenty W.C.s. Bars serving drinks/food etc. A bit of a blip at the entrance gates, tickets not able to be scanned by staff. A good day was had.
Show more...Trent Bridge is excellently located on the bus route and not far from the train station. Inside the ground the stands are a bit of an eye sore as if they have been built with no aesthetic thought - also there is no real cover when it rains!? The seats are spacious and we had a great view of the wicket.
There was a good atmosphere and the stewards were very friendly. Alcohol was on the expensive side at £5.50 plus an extra £1 for the plastic cup. There was a good variety of food - we had some delicious rossi.
We visited for the first day of a test match as we have done before. However the only things that saved today from being a disaster were the cricket itself and lovely weather.
Please note:
1 If you do not want your enjoyment of the cricket continually spoilt by frequent trips by others to buy beer, and then the consequent trips to the toilet then do go for the alcohol free stand. We will next time.
2 There were several notices about responsible drinking but the reality was spectators around us drinking up to twelve pints in the day.
3 This resulted in lack of control in behaviour- with two inebriated men thinking it was ok to hold on to ladies to steady themselves and
4 There was no steward in sight.
5 The retail shop is a misnomer- portly presented and poorly stocked. I was embarrassed to take friends into it.
Day one of England v India. Saved by good weather and a busy day of cricket.
Let down by poor organisation, lack of visible stewards and volunteers, irresponsible alcohol sales and rowdy unruly inconsiderate and drunk spectators.
Hardly any announcements as to what was going on, the shop is not worth bothering with and the toilets have seen better days.
If you want a proper cricket experience I’d recommend going to Lords and not bothering with the let down that is Trent Bridge.
My International cricket watching is mostly divided between Edgbaston and Trent Bridge. The former has a better atmosphere and is located on a huge plot of land, meaning you can walk all the way round the outside of the playing arena. You can't do a full circuit of TB and there's less room as well so the walkways are more crowded. However, architecturally, Trent Bridge is a gem, far more attractive than Edgbaston.
I sat in the Yu Stand for Day 1 of the India Test, having in previous years been in the Family Stand or the Larwood & Voce. There was a lot of noise but I didn't witness any bad behaviour and the view was great. At the break, the food sold was good quality albeit (of course) on the expensive side. Outside and around the ground, the volunteers and stewards were helpful and polite. I had a great day and in my opinion, Trent Bridge is one of the jewels in Nottingham's crown.

It's always a good day out at Trent Bridge, weather permitting of course; always great hospitality and variety and choice of food outlets, but can't always vouch for the cricket though!
Show more...This time booking tickets for disabled access seating has been a doddle, supportive friendly staff helping and advising, made a stressful enquiry much simpler than historically.
When you're disabled but don't use a wheelchair, it can be quite a task to get the right tickets, I've even been told I'm not disabled if I don't use a chair; but not here taking the to listen and understand my situation and provide solutions, proper service.
Thank you to all in ticketing.
