We decided to stop off at this winery for a taste and snack while driving from Istanbul to Çanakkale, but it was disappointing. The girl at the front desk was talking on the telephone when we walked into the lobby, and rudely gestured at us to halt when we tried to pass. That was a bad first impression. It got worse when they would not sell wine by the glass or à la carte menu for food. Only a basic flight of their lower end wines and a mediocre cheese plate were served because we had no lunch reservation and were not staying overnight. The facilities/ambience are very fine indeed, but the wine flight was just OK. At least they agreed to give us a red substitute for the white on the list. However, this place needs better management and service. I should not have to buy a whole bottle, make a reservation for an empty dining room at noon, or book a room in order to get proper refreshment at a winery. They are not prepared to receive drop-in visitors, so don’t stop for a casual visit here. Barbare? Uncivilized!

We had the mot perfect weekend here back in February. It is a lovely relaxing place for a winter getaway. We spent the days by the fire, playing games, drinking wine and eating good food. The scenery is spectacular with the mountains, hills and sea. The food is delicious and it was always a surprise what we would get. I would love to go again, thank you Barbare.

We spent the night at Barbarae Vineyards and it was truly wonderful. They include lunch dinner breakfast, the wine tasting, and a look around the winery. The folks there were wonderful. They were warm, friendly, and took very good care of us. The owner and manager spent a lot of time in France. The staff spoke Turkish, French, Italian, and enough English so that we could communicate just fine. The winery sits in the middle of a large vineyard and is very picturesque. We started with a couple glasses of vin rose with some Turkish cheese and bread sticks. Then we took a tour of the wine making operation, which is quite modern and sophisticated. They produce 100,000 bottles of wine annually. Dinner was preceded with tastings of some of their lighter red wines, which is mainly what they produce. They kept a nice fire going in the marble fireplace. Dinner was excellent. We started with soup and salads, then a pasta dish, and moved into filet with potatoes, all followed by desert. Every dish was wonderful. As we worked our way into dinner we tasted some of the richer wines which were truly excellent. These wines are made in the French Bordeaux and Chateauneuf-du-Pape styles. All the wines we tasted were excellent.
The rooms are large and beautifully furnished. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Our rooms looked out over the vineyards. After waking we were treated to a typical Turkish breakfast with dishes that kept coming. Again, all excellent.
You can buy the wines to take with you, which I would recommend. Given the quality of the facility and the food and wine, the price is very reasonable. The Turkish wine industry has to deal with laws that make it difficult to advertise and promote itself, but their wines can be really great. This is a wonderful introduction to the Turkish wines and the Turkish countryside. If you love wine, definitely give it a try.

This is a paradise for the rich and snooty people. We stayed here as a family. Even if you pay through your nose, the lady at the counter, Miss Yudum behaves like Alice in Wonderland who fell down the rabbithole. We're expatriates who love Turkey and the Turkish culture and hospitality but this place is the shame spot for anyone who is proud of Turkish hospitality. The only saving grace is the sweet service boys who are a species apart from the management. A little bit of love and compassion in service and warmth to their guests by the lady (Yudum) doing the reservation and managing the front desk would create many beautiful memories for those who have to spend USD 200 per night to stay here.

Would definitely not recommend this vineyard. The white wine was almost warm, it came with a so-called cheese board which consisted of small bits of cheese and a few raisins and dried apricots. There was no explanation, the waiter gave us a photocopied wine list and the wines served were marked as 1,2,4,5,6. There were no placemats, no cutlery, no napkins, no water. Totally overpriced even a money trap.

It is a small, unique and very warm cottage that creates memories. When you arrive, they greet you with their lovely rose and give you options to taste all thier wine. Food is delicious ( especially yaprak sarması-dolma) Very helpful team of workers. The athmosphere is fantastic. Definitely go, stay 1 night min.

The setting is magical, the food is awesome, and the wine is one of the best in this geography. The only reason of “not deserving the fifth star” is operational. Although Ms. Yudum’s attentive efforts are making up for most of the flaws and mishaps they need to invest a bit more on the rooms and staff. Rooms are lacking appropriate isolation and basic heating. The staff, although they are very enthusiastic and lively, is lacking some basic training and usually lacking in numbers when you need them. I hope the management continues to invest in this lovely enterprise.

Being a wine lover I heard a lot about the place and decided to visit. Place itself is very picturesque, beautiful view and landscape. Was very calm and relaxing in that time of the year. Pretty good wine. But service was a huge dissapointment, awful. Staff that was not welcoming at all, waiters acted like customers were not important at all. I would not visit the place again.

We went there with a friends of us , initially we though that we were going to a köfte place which is famous at Tekirdag , but we found ourselves at a heaven inside the nature .
More what we enjoyed than the great food and drinks , is the amazing company of Ozcan and Perihan , the manager couple of the wonderful place .

I would recommend you plan your visit ahead before you go so you stay at the Cousy motel after the meal .
