I researched different Atlanta area dive shops for certification. They came up short when compared to Dive Land Park. The other places wanted more money and didn't do local dive for certification. So on top of the cost of getting certified, an additional beach trip was also required. I am a very busy person and cannot give up a month of weekends and then a 4 day beach trip to get certified. I was able to get certified completely with my 4 dives in 1 weekend for less than $600. All equipment was provided with my fee, just bring a swimsuit. Dive Land Park has amazing visibility. There are interesting items submerged with interesting underwater vegetation and loads of fish. It's beautiful above and below the water. I'll be back to dive here again. A quick drive just over the Alabama state line.

My wife and I went with a group that was certifying. We knew the instructors and enjoy diving with them and their groups. They get all the stars in this review. The Dive Land Park could be a really cool spot, but it is not managed very well. Low visibility, but some neat stuff to find through navigation. Park service was sub par and the groups dive team rescued many that would have needed to leave or not dive due to the parks unreadiness to provide anything other than a location. If you go, come prepared!

Was passing through the area, having dove Alabama Blue Water. Tried calling Dive Land and got no answer, but the Facebook website indicated it was open so we headed to Glencoe the next morning. Luckily we had cash as the proprietor indicated they didn't accept credit cards - our first surprise. Then he indicates the compressor is on the blink - our second surprise. We rented a couple tanks because he indicated a local dive shop would fill ours. After our dive we began to discuss fills and he discovers the dive shop is closed - our third surprise is he didn't make any arrangements to take care of his divers! What were we to do bur leave early, where we discussed our fourth surprise - he offered no apology (that I recall) and never offered even a partial rebate or future benefit for our entry fee.
The diving was only fair, even for a quarry - all rocks, no growth or fish beds. Viz on par with other quarries. Not much going for it.
With these many strikes, we won't be back. If you go, I strongly recommend you call and confirm air availability and to see if there are any other conditions you might not appreciate. They certainly don't care enough about their clients to keep their website up-to-date (no mention of the lack of air nor cash-only policy) and as I've related, they don't go very far out of their way to be a full-service shop.

Was a little skeptical upon arrival as the area didn't seem very well kept but it was a good experience (and closer than the ocean) for a day trip. John Sr. and Jr. were both there and greeted us with a smile. John jr. was very good at explaining the layout and courses in the water.
First: NO swimmers! Yea!!!! Good for snorkelers and divers.
Second: They have a couple of attractions: Diesel Truck, Cessna, Navigation course and Buoyancy Triangles. So i would say the place is really more geared toward training classes but still good if only going with a buddy.
Third: The water today was about 83 degrees upon entering until you reach about 20 feet and it is very murky because of the trainees stirring up algae but.
after you get below 20 feet, it gets much clearer and COLDER!!!! at 47 feet it was 63 degrees so come prepared.
Forth: The grounds are so-so. Just wooden tables with plastic chairs and only a few of them. There is no place to hang stuff to dry while waiting or having lunch if you choose to do that on site. I wouldn't suggest it as the grounds aren't well kept, no showers and only port-a-potties. But hey, atleast they have separate Mens/Womens port-a-potties. But the owners did say they are working on stuff, it just takes time.

Great dive, great folks, plenty to see.. Great facility with some of the best decking and tank setup I've ever seen at a quarry by far!

This was our first time visiting Dive Land Park. Staff was very friendly and helpful as where to go and not to go and what to see. The fish food bottle was a big hit with the kids. All the fish surrounded us while we had that bottle. Will definitely go back.

My wife and I are avid divers. On our way home from the Florida Keys, we observed a billboard advertisement for Dive Land Park. We live in the Birmingham, Alabama area and augment our Gulf dives with local dives whenever possible. Dive Land Park is simply outstanding! Not too crowded, beautiful scenery, off-loading capability immediately at the entry point, a very accessible entry, and creative platforms and navigation courses. The cost of admission is very reasonable, and the dive shop staff are very friendly and courteous. Though nitrox fills are not available, air fills and air tanks are available. The quarry is a bit on the cool side, so ensure you bring plenty of thermal protection. We used half hoods 5/3 and lava core wet suits with no issues. This is definitely a dive site we will continue to visit and for us, compares better than other facilities in the Birmingham, Alabama area.

This is a nice place to take a class or to go diving. Sometimes the visibility is not good but still its ok. However , BEWARE, if you go there and have out of state tags the local police (Glencoe) will pull you over and give you a ticket. This town PD is $ hungry especially if you have out of state tags and they know you will not be back to go to court. So just be aware
