The hotel is beautiful and maintained at a high level for a 40 year old hotel as the appropriate updates have continually been made. The staff is as good as it gets anywhere and the location is the best in Honolulu for mixing relaxation with action when wanted. The whole family had a great time here - ages 2 - 62.

This hotel is in a great location visited with my wife. We were very well looked after by all staff... friendly and accommodating. Food is excellent and there is a great atmosphere in all restaurants and bars. Only problem for us that it was such a short stay, arriving on Friday afternoon with departure early Monday morning.

We stayed in a couple of Diamond Head view suites at the Halekulani hotel during a holiday weekend. The views were amazing and the rooms quite comfortable and spacious. The hotel is an oasis of calm in an otherwise very busy Waikiki neighborhood. It has some old world charm with excellent services in a comfortable space. Location It is one of the few hotels right in front of the beach in that stretch of Honolulu. It is walking distance to a myriad of shops, restaurants, and services. Beach/Pool There is not much of a beach per se. You can walk through a couple of hotels to get to the very very busy Waikiki Beach. It is quite crowded on the sand, but the water is magnificent. Very blue and mostly calm. The pool is medium sized, with many lounge chairs spread around it and several umbrellas. Even though it was hard to get a chair right around the pool in the morning, there were plenty of options in the grass area. It is an urban pool so quite compact, but still comfortable. The pool attendants were very nice. We did not feel that we had to wake up early and rush to get chairs like in many other Hawaii hotels. Restaurants All restaurants on site were fabulous, with a special shout out to the orchid's restaurant that served excellent breakfast and dinner. All said, if you're looking for some peace and quiet in Waikiki, you can't go wrong with this property.

We visited the Halekulani Hotel for a combination Valentine's Day and Birthday trip, it was Wonderful! The location is spectacular, the food very good, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, but the highlight is their team/staff. They are so welcoming and warm, everyone we came in contact with wanted us to have the absolute best experience while there - they truly are the spirit of Aloha.

Everybody at Halekulani is so kind giving you a feeling that you’re at home. Very relaxing atmosphere in a busy Waikiki. I would always go back just for the kindness and professionalism of everybody working at Halekulani. Special thanks to Richard at the Orchid restaurant.

The service, room, accomodations, staff were top notch making the entire experience wonderful. I would highly recommend the hotel although I would love to keep it all to myself! Every request I had was made to happen. Every person on staff we encountered was not only accomodating but so pleasant to engage. The room was so comfortable. And the restaurants whether in room dining or with ocean view was delicous. I cannot say enough about this experience.

As usual, everything about this hotel is magnificent. Perfection begins upon arrival and ends on departure. The staff is well trained, friendly and actually anxious to help make your visit as good as it can be. One of the top ten hotels in the world I have visited and I have traveled to over 100 countries.

Five Stars hotel with five stars service!! We had an enjoyable stay and staff; food was top notch!! From the bell desk to the front desk staff Camila, Joy we both well train and knowledgeable about the hotel. Food & drinks in House of Key, Orchid, Lewers lounge & L’Aperitif Cocktail Bar are excellent.

The general layout of the hotel is very practical from the pool to the restaurants, and Lewers Bar. There is also a lovely garden giving off the restaurants where in the evenings the Halekulani has beautiful Hawaiian entertainment. The pool isn’t over crowded and if you prefer to dine on your chaise lounge there is service. Also, the Room without a Key restaurant is adjacent to the pool and that is lovely for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I found on their menu the daily catch to be excellent! And never forget their Mai Tais! We also dined at their restaurants’ Orchid and La Mer which has also has an amazing setting with bar and exotic drinks. We’ve stayed at the Halekulani twice within the last 10 months and are planning to return in April with our same friends!

Every other year our family of four does a Hawaii trip during February school vacation of 3 nights at the Halekulani and 5 nights at the Grand Wailea on Maui. Halekulani is hands down our favorite hotel of all of our vacations. It is perfectly located (it is impressive how serene the hotel grounds are) and the service (other than concierge which is always mediocre) is top notch. We stay at a lot of Four Seasons and always are disappointed with the algorithmic/bland high end food served at the hotel restaurants. Halekulani is the shining example of top tier restaurants. We enjoyed the recently renovated House Without a Key (wasn't fully done two years ago) and the Orchids Sunday brunch is the best brunch period (make sure you plan your trip to be there on a Sunday!). For other families, I would highly recommend the Halekulani/Grand Wailea combination - you get the best of both worlds. We look forward to our next stay!
