Our hotel was only 5 minute's walk from here ended up going here to see the sunrise and sunset. Views at both times were beautiful, especially at sunrise with all the balloons flying around. Some of them even landed on the hill. From here you get a panaromic view of Goreme and surrounding. It did get a bit crowded in the morning and when the trailers started to come up for the balloons, the road was fully blocked. We had to wait til the road cleared to walk down. They do charge 3TL per person to go up to the view point.

Sunset Point has great views no matter when you go up but if you go up before dawn it gives you a great view of the hot air balloons that fill the sky to catch the sun rise. I went up nearly every day because it was so close to where I was staying. It gets really busy there because its such a central location. After a few days I went further out to escape the crowds but if you have a limited time in town it is definitely the most accessible way to catch the hot air balloons for sun rise. It has a great view of sunset as well but you go there for the hot air balloons in the morning.

However, we didn't bother with the balloon ride. If you enjoy being crammed into a basket with a dozen other strangers all jostling elbows to get photo shots this will be for you.

Personally, I found that the landscape in southern Utah to be more beautiful and in St. George (UT) two of us were able to get a private balloon ride for a fraction of what the Goreme balloon rides cost.

Greate place to watch the baloons. Everyone likes something else, for us that was the best place to see the sunrise. To go up there will cost you 3 tl pp so very cheap , there are many people offcaurse but its big enough to find your own spot for the photos without anyone in it:) Make sure before, that the baloons are flying. If you don't see any on the way there in Göreme around 5.30/ 5.45 am there are not flying and you can go back to bed;) According to the website where you can check if they will fly , the baloons are not allowed to fly when the wind is stronger than 12 kph . The website gives a green flag if they are allowed to fly but it does so the same day.. so better to check weather forecast for next day ( how strong will the wind be ) or if you are staing in Göreme , look out you window first. If you are scared of big dogs be ready cause there are many there, but they are not interested in people and very gentle so no need to be scared:)

The Sunset Point in Goreme is a high rock with Turkish flag you see above the eastern part of Goreme town. It is accessed via a steep uphill climb and stairs with a 3 TL entry fee at the kiosk down on a street leading to it.
The rock is oriented westwards, hence the name, and offers a terrific view of the whole Goreme town and the valley around.

Amazing view point where you can just get a drink, sit here and wait for the sunset. Walking distance from the town. You can cut through to the other end that leads to Goreme Open Air Museum. There is an entrance fee. However, if you come from goreme open air museum direction, go through honey valley trail, you won't have to pay for the entrance fee

You have to pay a small fee to get up the hill to Sunset Point, it’s only 3 lira per person, you pay in cash only at a little hut at the bottom of the slope.
We didn’t go here for Sunset but during the day, there is a cafe/bar at the top and also a sign that says “Goreme” which you can take a photo with.
There are a few souvenir sellers trying to up-sell their goods!
Worth a quick visit for the view.

We visited this view point for sunset one evening, we actually drove up here but you can also walk. Whatever mode you choose, it costs 10TL per person. The view is so beautiful and I think whether you came at sunrise, during the day or sunset depending what you want to see - the view will be amazing as you can see over the whole of Gerome town.

Its a nice place where you can see the red valley and other valley. When the sunset comes …the sky was so beautiful and you can watch amazing view while having turkish coffee or hot chocolate. There are few swing that children can play and some nice made photo spots. But the view….its a wow!!!

Don't pay the entrance fee. If you access trough town, they will charge you 3Tl to go up to the viw point. If you access from the other side, there is just the mountain and you can access freely.
We visited coming back from a trekking day and didn't even realized that this was the same place where they make you pay.
