We visited the cable cars as a family. Due to covid we had to wear a mask and the cable car was de fumigated before we got in. We felt very safe. The journey to the top is about 7 minutes and you have brilliant views along the coastline. We decided to venture up at sunset and it was lovely and not too hot at this time. At the top, there are wooden walkways and steps up to the castle. I would recommend NOT to take a pram up as the steps are steep and the walkways are narrow. The views from the top are sensational. There is a little market as you walk further round and a lovely looking restaurant with reasonable prices! If we had had more time, we would’ve loved to explore more. Definitely worth a visit.
Another place for amazing views is “The Rabbit” which is at the other side of Alanya but is beautiful and so high up in the hills. It has an outdoor theatre up there (obviously wasn’t on due to covid) but it’s definitely worth a visit.
A return ticket costs about £6, which is reasonable. The journey lasts around 5 minutes, offering some lovely views of Alanya.
There are a lot of cars on the wire, so even if there’s a queue, you’re not waiting long. We wanted our own, but since we were only a party of 2, we had to share with others (maximum occupancy is 6).
The opening hours are generous: it runs until 11pm. We saved it as an evening activity because it was simply too hot during the daytime!
Once at the top, you can explore the cliffs and the castle structures. Keep going and you’ll find the Old Bazaar with a few vendors.
I would thoroughly recommend going up the cable car and exploring the old city.
We visited as a family (2 adults and 3 kids aged 9, 10 and 11). The views of the city and the sea from the top are worth the price of the cable car IMO.
Our intention was mild exploration, given the blazing heat Turkey was experiencing that week. For us Lithuanians, the temperatures of 31-33 °C were quite the sizzler! As a result, we decided to approach our adventures cautiously, especially with iconic sites like Alanya Castle in the itinerary. A piece of advice for fellow travelers: stay hydrated, and if the sun's too hot, prioritize safety!
On the 9th of July, we resumed our Alanya exploration, strategically setting out post 4:30 p.m. to dodge the worst of the daytime heat. Our initial plan was to indulge in some souvenir shopping, and here's a golden tip: don't shy away from bargaining in Alanya! With a little persistence, you can land some fantastic deals.
Next, we took the funicular to Alanya Castle. Although we weren't exactly prepared for the hike, the round trip price of ₺ 190 (approximately 6.8 EUR) was well worth the investment. The highlight? Spotting mountain goats lounging on rocky outcrops, offering a delightful spectacle for our eyes.
Unfortunately, we had to skip the castle visit due to time constraints. For those planning a visit, Alanya Teleferik operates between 08:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. from 1 April to 31 October and will set you back by 150 ₺, or roughly 5 EUR. Make sure to time your trip right to fully enjoy the experience!
A great experience - lovely staff, everything is clean and well taken care of. Going up or down you have amazing views of the hill covered by a forest, the fortifications and wide views of the city and harbour on one side and mountains on the other. For a comfortable ride have a max of 6 people inside (or 4 if larger size or with large bags/strollers).
Show more...Boarding the cable car from Kleopatra beach is easy, it is most convenient to buy a round ticket as the way down walking is long and winding. The connection is quite new and though I have vertigo in high places I had no doubts taking the ride up. Coming down I read the notice on the window giving instructions in case the gondola stops mid-air. Luckily it didn't.
Show more...Laisure time in Alanya. According to all reviews on Trip advisor Me and my wife decided to take a bus and jump in to Alanya city center. Having a trip by cabin line was mandatory. Be careful, when it is warm it could be not easy. Views are worth climing.
Show more...Watch out if you're getting transfer from airport u will av 15 min break if I bought in alanya supermarket it would have been less than a tenner. £35 ended up on my card. 500 tl is about £14. Do everything in tl, don't do euro! Went all inclusive. Make sure u check out where you're staying u get wot u pay for had to eat out every night not that that's a bad thing but food was short of good in the hotel couldn't figure out what they were cooking up sometimes and tasted rank. It's a beautiful place but not coming back to the kleopatra ada beach hotel. Spend a bit extra and get yourself something better. Cleaning lady was a lovely lady and the staff but don't come here for the grub. Fell way short from what we expected and experienced last year. Ps dinner 4 2 usually about 35 to 40£ wherever you go beer about 2.5/3 for an efes but if u fancy a g&then expect a tenner a go plus check out illusions palm Beach just opposite the mosque for a chilled one beautiful bar lovely people great grub enjoy alanya. I'll be back just not here.
We went both directions on the cable cars as part of a tourist day trip up to the citedal! Masks are wore, temperature checks are completed, hand gel provided and the car are deep cleaned after each use. The views are amazing. Fully enjoyed the views and the cable cars.

I gave 4 points/stars to this attraction only because this teleferic is just for tourists to experience the ride and enjoy the amazing view.
Show more...When i went there, the price was 5 euros, return ticket but if you go one way the price was aprox 4 euros per person So it is great if you only want to ride it once and experience the ride but if you happen to love visiting the castle and the top of the hill, its better to take a taxi and 4 people can go to the top for less than 5 eur.
So if you are local with lower income, teleferic might not be your first choice of transportation to the top of the hil.
The teleferic is in great condition, and people who work there are lovely.
